Strategies To Build An Impactful Institutional Repository: A Case Study Of Singapore Management University, Pin Pin Yeo
Research Collection Library
An institutional repository (IR) was launched in 2010 for a young university in Singapore. The motivations of setting up an IR were to dissemination the research output through open access, to promote the university and researchers, and to help increase their research impact. A review was conducted on the strategies to build the IR. Some quantitative and qualitative performance indicators were selected and used to measure the success of the IR. The findings of the review were presented and strategies that were successful in building the IR were having a workflow process between the research information system and the repository, …

University Libraries Faculty Scholarship
Academic libraries at Association of Research Libraries (ARL) & Carnegie R1 universities in the U.S. and Canada provide leadership to deliver comprehensive integrated Web-based data management services for faculty, graduate students, and researchers. Data management makes data more findable, usable, and reproducible; supports an ethical, responsible research environment; and meets funder and journal data-sharing requirements. Since the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy’s 2013 memorandum requiring federal agencies to increase public access to the results of federally funded research, many funders and journals have mandated data planning and sharing. Developing high quality data management plans take time and …

Electronic Resource Management In A Post-Plan S World, Jill Emery, Graham Stone
Library Faculty and Staff Publications and Presentations
cOAlition S and research funding policies mean open access content is no longer a "trend" but rather another consideration of content management for librarians and libraries. In 2018, the authors of this article launched a new version of TERMS (Techniques for Electronic Resources Management). TERMS 2.0 envisages a post-Plan S e-resources life cycle blending e-resources and open access content management. This article outlines how open content management can dovetail into current e-resource management tactics across six TERMS: Investigation of material, procurement and licensing of content, implementation, troubleshooting of problems, evaluation and preservation, and sustainability concerns. Lastly, we reflect on the …

Report On A Survey Of Iwu Faculty And Staff Attitudes About Archiving Honors And Jwp Works, Meg Miner
Administrative Reports
This report is a complete account of responses to a survey I disseminated after Spring semester of 2021. That survey purposefully asked more questions than what I needed for the book chapter I was working on.* Library personnel recognize that the interactions students have with departmental staff and faculty advisors influence the views students may form about self-archiving in DC@IWU. We have tried at various points to educate our colleagues about our work, but until this year we have not formally sought to understand if our goals match those of our departmental colleagues. I also added survey questions specific to …

Library Management With Fayol's 14 Principles: Practical Insights, Parbat Chhetri
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
This study explores the practical application of Henri Fayol's 14 Principles of Management in the context of library management. Amid the evolving landscape of libraries, these principles offer a potential framework for optimizing operations and enhancing services. Through a document analysis of web resources, the researcher thoroughly examines each principle's adaptability to libraries. The study's purpose is to discern how these principles can effectively guide decision-making, workflow, and staff engagement within diverse library settings. While the findings shed light on the positive impacts of principle integration, it's important to note that the application may vary due to library-specific nuances. This …

Introduction
The Boston Library Consortium (BLC) was founded upon a shared commitment to promote cooperation in making resources more readily available. Consortial controlled digital lending (CDL) powerfully expands and reimagines resource sharing across the consortium.
In September 2020, the BLC Board of Directors convened a CDL Working Group charged with investigating delivery mechanisms, technology, workflows, policies, copyright and legal issues, shared storage solutions, and other actions related to a potential consortial implementation of CDL among interested BLC member libraries.
The Working Group consisted of fourteen representatives from eleven member libraries and the BLC’s Executive Director. For almost twelve months, the …
