Science communication research is dominated by Western countries. While their research provides insight into best practices, their findings cannot be generalized to developing countries. This study examined the science communication challenges encountered by scientists and science communicators from Manila, Philippines through an online survey and semi-structured, investigative interviews. Their answers revealed issues which have been echoed in other international studies. However, challenges of accessibility and local attitudes to science were magnified within the Philippine context. Technology empowers entrepreneurs to pursue alternative funding through platforms like crowdfunding. This research explores significant startup funding factors using Crunchbase. Controlling for common factors (acquisition/funding-rounds/IPO), the research uniquely focuses on web attention - the visibility on social media - and its impact on funding. It also examines the moderating influence of startup’s home country culture (individualism/collectivism). Findings show stronger positive impact of web attention on startup funding for collectivist countries. While individualistic investors value personal goals, collectivists value collaborative goals - inclinations that align with crowdfunding behavior. Therefore while increasing web attention, crowdfunding efforts can be targeted towards collectivist countries.

Introduction. The study examines the tacit knowledge sharing (KS) practices among lecturers in the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. It explored the presence of tacit knowledge sharing culture, KS processes, factors affecting the sharing of tacit knowledge, how the University supports the sharing of tacit knowledge, and the challenges of tacit knowledge sharing.

Method. Case study research design was used. The population composed academic staff in the University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
