Framing Of Saudi Women Pre- And Post-Vision 2030: A Comparative Analysis Of Online Newspaper Coverage In Western, Middle Eastern, And Saudi Contexts, Yusra H. Alzahrani

The purpose of this study was to examine the portrayal of Saudi women in the media before and after the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, with a focus on how women were framed in text and visuals. A comprehensive content analysis of Al Riyadh, Al Jazeera, The Guardian, and NYT revealed a marked increase in coverage of women's empowerment and ongoing struggles after the Vision. The analysis suggests that a more critical discussion of the social challenges that women might face is needed. The 2001 Anthrax Attacks were a critical factor in the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) claims that sparked the Iraq War. Despite its significance, little systematic work has been done regarding the topic. Existing studies primarily focus on the role of the Military Industrial Complex and intelligence failures as the primary explanations for the origins of the Iraq War. These explanations are limited, as they rely on hindsight biases. This thesis contends that anthrax was the catalyst for WMD claims that sparked the Iraq War. This study provides an analysis of the various aspects of social media and its use for fundraising by focusing on the data of humanitarian aid provisions of King Salman's humanitarian organization in Saudi Arabia.
