Lao People’s Democratic Republic was founded in 1975, and since then the government has tried to reinforce Lao national identity among its citizens. This research aims to study what kind of role the Lao female traditional skirt called the “Sinh” has played out in forming Lao national identity among the Lao people since the country’s establishment, and what kind of factors have affected the perspectives towards Sinh-wearing in Lao society. This research relies on both qualitative and quantitative methodology. In 2002, the Thai government lauched two gastrodiplomacy initiatives to promote cultural awareness, increase export revenue, and boost tourism by increasing the number and quality of Thai restaurants abroad. The Andaman coast is home to the Moken who are traditionally sea nomads. In Thailand, they have undergone changes to their traditional life as they deal with the state policy and the tourism industry, where they contend with obstacles to their wellbeing as a people via marginalization and insecurity. This research paper focuses on the situation in the Surin Islands, a national park since 1981 and home to the Moken Village with around 300 residents. Urban Southeast youth create a type of dessert-centered cultural capital based in their encounters with Asia-centered desserts in trendy urban cafes. They turn these encounters into digital products to share online. This helps them create a refined Asian cosmopolitan identity grounded in localized forms of food culture and history. This identity distinguishes them from earlier generations and situates themselves in a cosmopolitan middle class. The purpose of this study is to examine legal documents to identify disparities in consumer protection regulations in ASEAN's e-commerce and to propose recommendations to benefit from harmonization of regulatory framework. The study’s scope includes ASEAN’s six key internet economies: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Textual and comparative analyses of legal documents in the six ASEAN member countries reveal considerable variations in crucial issues in ASEAN’s consumer protection laws, potentially resulting in unequal protection levels for consumers from different ASEAN countries, where Singapore is the best practice. This thesis examines the cultural identity of digital nomads in Southeast Asia and its impact on their evolving labor model. Employing qualitative interviews and document research, the study investigates the lifestyles of these contemporary nomads. The research reveals a finding: despite roaming abroad, digital nomads maintain a strong connection to their national identity. This intriguing phenomenon demonstrates the persistence of cultural heritage in shaping their self-identity. This research argues the history of the Chinese Association in Thailand (CAT) is strongly connected to the transformation of self-identity among the pro-Republic of China Thai Chinese. Since the foundation of CAT in 1907 by the Tongmenghui members, the association itself represents the rise of Chinese nationalism amongst ethnic Chinese in Siam. This thesis presents an analysis of the folk beliefs and cultural tourism in modern Vietnam through a case study of the Perfume Temple Festival. It is presumed that folk beliefs and traditional folklore have always constituted the spiritual foundation of Vietnamese people in present day society. It is found that the introduction of religions from outside Vietnam does not affect traditional folk beliefs. The thesis examines why and how Vietnam-India security relations have deepened significantly in reaction to the shifting geopolitical landscape of the Indo-Pacific.
