Economic Drivers Of International Migration To Türkiye: A Regional Comparison Study, Bekir Gündoğmuş, Musa Bayir, Ahmed Yusuf Sarihan
Makara Human Behavior Studies in Asia
This study investigates the macroeconomic determinants of registered international migration to Türkiye by employing panel data regression techniques at the NUTS-2 regional level for the period 2016–2022. The results reveal that per capita income, employment, and the share of industry, services, and construction sectors in total production have a statistically significant and positive impact on migration inflows, while inflation exhibits a negative effect. However, agricultural production proportion and export performance do not appear to significantly influence regional migrant preferences. Causality tests further support the existence of both bidirectional and unidirectional relationships between economic indicators and migration. The findings underscore the …
Firms Heterogeneity In Indonesia’S Manufacturing And Services Sectors, Rizki Nauli Siregar
Firms Heterogeneity In Indonesia’S Manufacturing And Services Sectors, Rizki Nauli Siregar
Economics and Finance in Indonesia
Firm heterogeneity is the building block of modern trade theories. One of its important implications is that comparative advantage is driven by firm productivity, rather than sector differences across countries. Despite the prevalence of this framework, there has not been any systematic documentation on firm heterogeneity in Indonesia’s man ufacturing and services firms. Using the World Bank Enterprise Survey (WBES) data for Indonesia in 2015 and 2023, we confirm that there is firm heterogeneity in the form of size and productivity dispersion in both of the economy’s manufacturing and services sectors. We also find no strong association between size and …
Perceived Problem, Partnership, And Training Effect On Productivity And Export: Evidence From Micro And Small Manufacturing Firms In Indonesia, Rifai Afin
Economics and Finance in Indonesia
The primary objectives of this study are threefold: first, to investigate whether the challenges faced by micro and small industries motivate them to enter into partnerships; second, to assess the impact of partnerships on company productivity; and third, to explore the causal relationship between productivity and exports. We aim to determine whether productivity influences exports and vice versa or if a two-way relationship exists. The data used in this study consists of annual survey data from micro and small manufacturing companies, randomly collected by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in 2015, with a total sample of 58,290 observations. The methodologies …

Comparative Study Of Halal Certification Mechanism: Indonesia, Malaysia And Mexico, Faiz Nur Faiqoh, Nur Fatwa
Journal Of Middle East and Islamic Studies
This research was conducted to examine the handling and procedures for halal certification at halal certification institution in Indonesia, Malaysia as a Muslim-majority country and Mexico as a Muslim-minority country, and to analyze using the SWOT approach. Halal product certification in Indonesia is carried out by the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) under the auspices of the government (Ministry of Religion). The aim is to provide guarantees to the community, especially Muslims from the products consumed. And in Malaysia it is carried out by JAKIM (Department of Islamic Development Malaysia) under the post of prime minister of Malaysia. While in …
Assessing The Impact Of Financial Obstacles On Manufacturing Firm's Capacity Utilization: Bayesian Approach, Arab Dahir Hassan, Razim Ozcan
Assessing The Impact Of Financial Obstacles On Manufacturing Firm's Capacity Utilization: Bayesian Approach, Arab Dahir Hassan, Razim Ozcan
The Indonesian Capital Market Review
This study aims to investigate the relationship between financial obstacles and the capacity utilization of manufacturing firms. This study departs from previous studies in the literature by employing Bayesian linear regression analysis. The results demonstrate that financial constraints have a considerable negative effect on the capacity utilization of manufacturing enterprises, but access to credit lines has a positive effect. The sample consists of 1,494 private manufacturing firms in 31 Europe & Central Asian countries. Financial obstacles were perceived as the major impediment to business operations by 65% of the enterprises in the survey. Furthermore, 52% of enterprises in the sample …

Direct Dan Indirect Effect: Determinan Upah Minimum Kabupaten/Kota Di Jawa Barat, Alphin Pratama Husada, Risni Julaeni Yuhan
Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia
This study aims to analyze the determinants of the regional minimum wage (UMK) directly and indirectly in West Java in year 2010–2019. The author found that the minimum wage model that considers spatial dependence produces two different interpretations, namely direct and indirect impacts. The regression model used in this study is the spatial durbin model (SDM). In the spatial model, partial reduction is carried out to get direct and indirect effects. The results of the study show that there are direct and indirect influences originating from the MSE variables, Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), Human Development Index (HDI) and the …

Industrialization is one of the government’s focuses on development. Java is an area focused on the industry. However, the labor productivity of large and medium manufacturing industries in Java is lower than regions outside Java and national level of productivity. This study aims to analyze determinants of labor productivity in large and medium manufacturing industries in all provinces in Java from 2010 to 2015 using panel data regression. As the best model, fixed effect model showed that HDI, real wages, and vehicle PMTB has a positively significant effect on labor productivity.

Pola Perdagangan Global Pada Perusahaan-Perusahaan Berteknologi Tinggi, Dyah Wulan Sari, Wenny Restikasari
Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia
This study deals with firm level data of Indonesian high-tech manufacturing industries to determine firm’s production, especially among global trade variables, such as export intensity, vertical trade integration, and two-way trade. This study employs a generalized method of moments (GMM) approach to examine the most important factors of a global trade phenomenon. In the full-sample, the result demonstrates that vertical trade integration and two-way trade are significant determinants on firm’s production while export intensity is not. In ordinary trader sub-sample, export intensity is a significant determinant of firm’s production, whereas in vertical trader sub-sample export intensity is not.
