It is a report on the state's employment and economic activity; from November to December, unemployment decreased from 6.7% to 6.3%. Retail trade increased from seasonal hiring and other non-agricultural salary and wage jobs followed normal trends. Total employment decreased, however, it was a smaller decrease than what is normally expected for December.

New Mexico's unemployment rate was lower than the nations: 6.9% and 7.6%, respectively. This was from a more-than-expected increase in employment across multiple industries (mostly state government).
