Wage Compensation Differentials For Job Risk Between Formal And Informal Workers, Pinyada Suwannarat

This research estimates compensating wage differentials for job risks for formal and informal workers in Thailand, the latter of whom are not covered by prevailing labor laws. Using data from the National Statistical Office’s Thai Labor Force Survey for years 2012 to 2018 merged with job fatality risk collected by the Social Security Office, the results show that the fatality risk rate has a positive, significant effect on wages. The value of statistical life for the median formal workers is 79.33 million baht compared to 41.5 million baht for the median informal worker. This research investigates the factors affecting Thailand’s export growth and stability at the product level. There are 3 key factors extracted from international trade data, which are the distance from Thailand to a product (distance), Product Complexity Index (PCI), the competition level of products. Distance reflects the potential of Thailand to successfully export the product base on existing capabilities. PCI informs the complexity of producing and exporting process of the product. This paper empirically explores causal relation between non-financial information and stock price performance by applying textual analysis to listed firms’ financial disclosure in Thailand. Managers generally use language in Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) report to communicate value-relevant information to investors and other stakeholders. I applied various kinds of approach to quantify qualitative information. I found that, on average, management discussion reports four main topics, which are financial performance, financial status, external factor and industry specific topic. ผลกระทบของภาษีความหวานต่อราคา : กรณีศึกษาเครื่องดื่มในประเทศไทย, ธนัชพร ทิพย์กาญจนกุล

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาผลกระทบของภาษีความหวานต่อราคาเครื่องดื่ม ผ่านการวิเคราะห์การเปลี่ยนแปลงของราคาและภาระภาษีที่ถูกส่งผ่านไปยังผู้บริโภค โดยใช้ข้อมูลราคาขายปลีกของเครื่องดื่มจากกระทรวงพานิชย์ ในช่วงเวลาก่อนและหลังการเก็บภาษีความหวานรอบที่สอง 6 เดือน ซึ่งงานวิจัยนี้จะใช้วิธี difference-in-differences ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดยมีกลุ่มทดลองคือเครื่องดื่มที่มีน้ำตาล ซึ่งกลุ่มทดลองข้างต้นนี้จะถูกแบ่งเป็นกลุ่มย่อยตามปริมาณน้ำตาลที่มีในเครื่องดื่มนั้น ๆ ได้แก่กลุ่มเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลสูงมาก สูง ปานกลาง ต่ำ และต่ำมาก ตามลำดับ และทำการเทียบเครื่องดื่มกลุ่มทดลองแต่ละกลุ่มกับน้ำดื่มที่เป็นกลุ่มควบคุม ผลพบว่าในภาพรวมของราคาเครื่องดื่มที่ถูกเก็บภาษีมีการปรับตัวสูงขึ้น คิดเป็นประมาณ 0.227 บาท/100 มิลลิลิตร อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.01 โดยเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลปานกลางมีการเปลี่ยนแปลงของราคามากที่สุด รองลงมาคือเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลต่ำ และเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลต่ำมากตามลำดับ ส่วนเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลสูงและสูงมากไม่พบการเปลี่ยนแปลงของราคา และพบว่าในภาพรวมของเครื่องดื่มที่ถูกเก็บภาษีทั้งหมดมีการผลักภาระไปยังผู้บริโภคประมาณ 854% โดยเครื่องดื่มที่มีการผลักภาระภาษีไปยังผู้บริโภคมากที่สุดคือเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลต่ำมาก รองลงมาคือเครื่องเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลต่ำ และเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลปานกลางตามลำดับ ส่วนเครื่องดื่มที่มีปริมาณน้ำตาลสูงและสูงมากไม่พบการผลักภาระภาษีไปยังผู้บริโภค

ระบบชุมชนสนับสนุนเกษตรกรรม (CSA) คือ รูปแบบของความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเกษตรกรและผู้บริโภค ในการซื้อขายผลผลิตอินทรีย์ โดยให้ผู้บริโภคเข้ามาเป็นสมาชิกและมีการชำระเงินล่วงหน้าให้เกษตรกรเป็นรายปี ผู้บริโภคจะได้ผลผลิตอินทรีย์จากฟาร์มเกษตรกรโดยตรงเป็นรายสัปดาห์ หรือตามข้อกำหนดที่ตกลงกันไว้ การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาลักษณะและการตัดสินใจของเกษตรกรและผู้บริโภคที่เป็นสมาชิกภายใต้ระบบชุมชนสนับสนุนเกษตรกรรม (CSA) ในประเทศไทย โดยผู้วิจัยเลือกเก็บข้อมูลผ่านแบบสอบถามกับกลุ่มตัวอย่างเกษตรกรและกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้บริโภคทั้งที่อยู่ภายใต้ระบบและไม่ได้อยู่ภายใต้ระบบ CSA ผลการศึกษาพบว่า เกษตรกรในกลุ่ม CSA มีอายุเฉลี่ยที่สูง มีรายจ่ายและหนี้สินน้อย ในด้านลักษณะเกษตรกรรม เกษตรกรในกลุ่ม CSA มีประสบการณ์ในภาคเกษตรน้อยกว่า และใช้พื้นที่ในการเพาะปลูกน้อยกว่าเกษตรกรในกลุ่ม Non-CSA เหตุผลในการตัดสินใจเข้าร่วม CSA ของเกษตรกรให้ความสำคัญกับการไม่ใช้สารเคมีในการเกษตรมากที่สุด ลักษณะของผู้บริโภคในระบบชุนสนับสนุนเกษตรกรรม (CSA) มีอายุเฉลี่ย ระดับการศึกษา จำนวนสมาชิกในครัวเรือน และระดับรายได้สูงกว่าผู้บริโภคในกลุ่ม Non-CSA โดยเหตุผลในด้านผลผลิตอินทรีย์เป็นแรงจูงใจของผู้บริโภคในการตัดสินใจเข้าร่วมในระบบชุมชนสนับสนุนเกษตรกรรมมากที่สุด

งานวิจัยฉบับนี้ได้ศึกษาถึงผลกระทบของการลงทุนโดยตรงจากต่างประเทศต่อการแพร่กระจายผลิตภาพการผลิตในอุตสาหกรรมยานยนต์ของประเทศไทย โดยใช้ข้อมูลรายสถานประกอบการจากสำมะโนอุตสาหกรรม ปี พ.ศ. 2555 และ 2560 และประมาณค่าด้วยวิธี Ordinary Least Square (OLS) ผลการศึกษาแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วน โดยในส่วนที่ 1 ศึกษาผลกระทบจากการลงทุนโดยตรงจากต่างประเทศต่อผลิตภาพการผลิตของสถานประกอบการยานยนต์ พบว่าสถานประกอบการที่มีต่างชาติร่วมลงทุนจะมีผลิตภาพการผลิตที่สูงกว่าสถานประกอบการที่ไม่มีต่างชาติร่วมลงทุน ส่วนในส่วนที่ 2 ศึกษาการแพร่กระจายผลิตภาพการผลิตจากการลงทุนโดยตรงจากต่างประเทศต่อสถานประกอบการยานยนต์ท้องถิ่น พบว่าการเข้ามาลงทุนของต่างชาติส่งผลให้เกิดการแพร่ กระจายผลิตภาพการผลิตไปสู่สถานประกอบการยานยนต์ท้องถิ่น ทำให้สถานประกอบการยานยนต์ท้องถิ่นมีผลิตภาพการผลิตสูงขึ้น การสะสมทุนมนุษย์เป็นตัวแปรสำคัญที่ทำให้การเข้ามาของต่างชาติส่งผลกระทบต่อการเพิ่มผลิตภาพการผลิตของสถานประกอบการท้องถิ่นได้ดียิ่งขึ้น

งานวิจัยฉบับนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความเหลื่อมล้ำของค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองของผู้สูงอายุในประเทศไทยโดยผ่านตัวแปรดัชนีความมั่งคั่งและความสัมพันธ์ของปัจจัยอื่นๆต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองของผู้สูงอายุ ซึ่งกลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้คือ ผู้สูงอายุที่มีอายุ 60 ขึ้นไป ข้อมูลที่ใช้เป็นข้อมูลทุติยภูมิจากสำรวจอนามัยและสวัสดิการ พ.ศ. 2560 และ 2062 ที่เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยสำนักงานสถิติแห่งชาติ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์คือสถิติเชิงพรรณนาและการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยโทบิต ซึ่งจะแบ่งการวิเคราะห์เป็น 2 กรณีคือ กรณีผู้ป่วยนอกและกรณีผู้ป่วยใน ผลการวิจัยทั้งในกรณีที่ผู้สูงอายุเป็นผู้ป่วยนอกและผู้ป่วยในพบว่าผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับดัชนีความมั่งคั่งหรือระดับรายได้ที่ต่ำมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับดัชนีความมั่งคั่งหรือระดับรายได้ที่สูงกว่า แสดงถึงความเหลื่อมล้ำในการเลือกเข้ารับการรักษาในสถานพยาบาลที่แตกต่างกันตามความสามารถในการจ่ายของผู้สูงอายุ นอกจากนี้การวิเคราะห์ในกรณีผู้ป่วยนอกยังพบว่า จำนวนสมาชิกในครัวเรือนมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเอง ผู้สูงอายุที่อาศัยอยู่ในภาคกลาง, ภาคเหนือ, ภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ และภาคใต้มีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่อาศัยอยู่ในกรุงเทพ จำนวนโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรังมีผลเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเอง ผู้สูงอายุที่ป่วยในกลุ่มโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรังในกลุ่มโรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด กลุ่มโรคเบาหวานและความผิดปกติของต่อมไร้ท่อและเมตะบิลิซึมมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่ไม่ได้ป่วยเป็นโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง แต่ในผู้สูงอายุที่ป่วยเป็นโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรังในกลุ่มอื่นๆมีผลเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่ไม่ได้ป่วยเป็นโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง ผู้สูงอายุที่มีสิทธิข้าราชการ/ ข้าราชการบำนาญมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลอื่นๆ และผู้สูงอายุที่อยู่ในระดับดัชนีความมั่งคั่งที่ต่ำและมีสิทธิประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้ามีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับดัชนีความมั่งคั่งที่สูงกว่าและมีสิทธิประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้า ส่วนในกรณีผู้ป่วยในมีผลการศึกษาของตัวแปรจำนวนสมาชิกในครัวเรือน ตัวแปรจำนวนโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง ตัวแปรกลุ่มโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง และตัวแปรร่วมระหว่างดัชนีความั่งคังกับประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้าเช่นเดียวกันกับกรณีผู้ป่วยนอก แต่ยังมีตัวแปรที่มีผลการศึกษาเพิ่มเติมก็คือ ตัวแปรระดับการศึกษาพบว่าผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับการศึกษาก่อนประถมศึกษามีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีระดับการศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีหรือสูงกว่าปริญญาตรี ตัวแปรสถานะภาพสมรสพบว่าผู้สูงอายุที่แต่งงานแล้วมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่ยังโสด หย่า หม้ายหรือแยกกัน ตัวแปรกลุ่มของโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรังพบว่าผู้สูงอายุที่ป่วยเป็นกลุ่มโรคเรื้อรังของระบบหายใจมีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่ไม่ได้ป่วยเป็นโรคไม่ติดต่อเรื้อรัง ตัวแปรสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลมีผลเพิ่มเติมจากกรณีผู้ป่วยนอกคือผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลเป็นประกันสุขภาพถ้วนหน้ามีผลเชิงลบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลอื่น และผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลเป็นประกันสังคม/ กองทุนทดแทนมีผลเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองเมื่อเทียบกับผู้สูงอายุที่มีสวัสดิการค่ารักษาพยาบาลอื่น และจำนวนวันในการเข้าพักในสถานพยาบาลของผู้สูงอายุมีผลเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติต่อค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเอง แต่การศึกษาครั้งนี้จะให้ความสำคัญกับตัวแปรดัชนีความมั่งคั่งเพื่อสะท้อนความเหลื่อมล้ำในค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองที่แตกต่างกันในผู้สูงอายุที่มีดัชนีความมั่งคั่งในระดับที่แตกต่างกัน ซึ่งจากผลการศึกษาที่กล่าวมาแล้วนั้น สะท้อนให้เห็นว่าเกิดความเหลื่อมล้ำในค่าใช้จ่ายในการรักษาพยาบาลที่ต้องจ่ายด้วยตนเองขึ้นจริง

Against the background of an aging population and a mandatory retirement policy at relatively young ages in China, mental health problems of the retired elderly have attracted more and more attention. Yet, only a few studies have looked at the association between retirement status, savings and geriatric depression in China. This study investigates the impact of economic development on health, using a panel of 217 countries (139 high-income and 78 low-income countries for the period 1995-2018). Five dependent variables are included, which are life expectancy at birth, infant mortality, under-5 mortality, survival to age 65 for the female and the male population. The preferred regression method used is fixed effects - two stage least squares modeling (FE-2SLS). Efforts to tackle this problem have tended to focus on reducing antibiotic consumption and promoting the appropriate use of medicines. This study used a secondary dataset drawn from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS,2015). In this nationally survey, the number of observations was 9,876. The dependent variable used in this study is smoking and non-smoking. Smoking includes light smoking, moderate, and heavy smoking. This study investigates impacts of asset allocations on ETF flows across asset classes in a panel form, utilizing fixed-effects panel regression. The period of study covers October 2008 to July 2019. The investment universe contains 9 U.S.-listed ETFs, classifying into 5 asset classes. Monthly asset allocations are obtained from 5 optimization strategies based on mean-variance and risk-based optimizations. The findings indicate that asset allocations of risk-based optimization strategies significantly explain fund flows across asset classes. We develop a model for predicting market crashes in the Stock Exchange of Thailand using a deep learning-based anomaly detection approach (LSTM-VAE). The model aims to detect market behavior before each market crash. Apart from the common stock market variables, we feed the model with the indices of systemic risk, and of volatility spillovers. With these two indices, the model takes into account the influences from both inside and outside the particular stock market.
