The challenge of energy transition is the high subsidy on fossil fuels and financing needs. Using social accounting matrix, this study examines the impact of energy transition plan and subsidy reform on economy, society and environment through three scenarios: business-as-usual scenario (Sim1), energy transition (Sim2) and phasing-out (Sim3). Sim2 and Sim3 are conducted without subsidy transfer (Sim2 & Sim3) and subsidy transfer for financing renewable power plants (Sim2.1 & Sim 3.1). Government institutions often face a dilemma in providing goods and services: whether to ‘outsource’ or manage them ‘in-house’. Large-scale public services typically require complex contracts to ensure successful project completion. This study examines the dynamics of relational governance and power shifts that lead to contract failure using a mixed-method approach applied to a complex public service project in Jakarta, one of the largest metropolitan areas in the world. The findings indicate that a contractual win-win outcome can be achieved with strong governance rules, particularly relational governance. Trade openness is widely associated with stronger medium- to-long-term economic growth, yet its distributional consequences within countries, particularly in developing economies, remain contested. This paper examines the relationship between trade openness and spatial inequality in four major ASEAN economies, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, over the period 2012–2019. Spatial inequality is measured using Theil’s Index based on provincial-level GDP per capita, while trade openness is proxied by the trade-to-GDP ratio. High crime rates in rural areas indicate development inequality and low welfare. The government initiated the Padat Karya Tunai Desa Program (Cash-for-Work) to improve welfare by providing employment. Using the Difference-in-Difference method with 2018 and 2021 PODES data from 7,721 villages in East Java, this study analyzes the impact of the PKTD Program and socio-economic factors on crime using three measures: total crime types, theft, and violence. Results show that the Cash-for-Work program does not reduce total crime types and violence, but has the potential to reduce theft. Purpose - This study examines the impact of the halal industry on economic growth in Muslim-majority countries, particularly in Asia, home to most of the global Muslim population.

Women’s happiness can be influenced by various factors, including marital status. This study analyzes the relationship between marital status and women's happiness in Indonesia using pooled crossectional data from the Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) wave 4 & 5 in 2007 and 2014. The probit regression method is applied to estimate the impact of marital status on the probability of happiness. Results show that widowed and/or divorced women have significantly lower probabilities of happiness than married women (p-value < 0.01). In addition, the probability of being happy for women who are divorced is higher than those who are widowed (p-value < 0.1). This study also emphasizes that education has an important role in improving women's happiness. The implications of this study suggest the importance of policy interventions to improve access to education for women, particularly for those who are socially and economically vulnerable.

This study aims to assess Indonesia’s readiness to implement carbon trading in 2025 to achieve net zero emissions by 2060. The research uses a mixed-method approach, combining literature review, multivariate linear regression, and Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). The results indicate that the Human Development Index (HDI) has a negative and significant impact on CO2 emissions in the long term. This impact is greater than the results observed in Singapore and Thailand. With established policies and a demographic bonus in 2045, optimizing human resources is crucial for achieving net zero emissions by 2060.

This study investigates the impact of the number of financing loans before and after the pandemic and analyzes internal and external factors of PT Pegadaian on Outstanding Loans as the dependent variable by using data from PT Pegadaian during 2018–2020. The statistical method used for this analysis is the Generalized Least Squares (GLS). The result shows that the financing loan by PT Pegadaian has significantly higher during the COVID-19 pandemic, then macroeconomic characteristics, ceteris paribus. In addition, this study found an increase in the need for pawning in society, indicated by the increase in Outstanding Loan (OSL) in PT Pegadaian.

Micro and small industries (MSIs) play a crucial role in the economy, yet their growth confronts various constraints. This study examines the determinants of Indonesian MSIs output, focusing on the roles of capital, labor, added value, efficiency, and productivity. Panel data from 34 provinces (2013–2023) applied fixed effect model. The findings indicate that capital, labor, added value, efficiency, and productivity have a positive and significant impact on output. Capital’s dominant role highlights the need for improved access to finance. Policies supporting value creation, managerial skills, and technology adoption are crucial to unlocking the MSI potential and ensuring sustainable growth.

This study aims to analyze the influence of political institutional quality, proxied by democracy, political globalization, and good governance, on PM2.5 concentration in G20 countries as well as prove the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) Hypothesis and Pollution Halo Hypothesis (PHH) from 1998 to 2022. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method is employed in this analysis. The results show that democracy reduces PM2.5 concentration only in the long run. This study examines the impact of SEZs in Indonesia on regional economic growth, including impacts on neighbouring regencies and cities, using a Dynamic Spatial Durbin Model. The study indicates the impact of SEZs is only evident in tourism SEZs, while manufacturing SEZs have no discernible impact. The impact of SEZs on regional growth is transient. The significant variables are prior regional growth, Domestic Investment (PMDN), Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK), Availability of Information and Communication Technology, Human Development Index (HDI), and GRDP growth. Influencing variables in the surrounding areas include GRDP growth and the diffusion of information and communication technologies.

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing students at Universitas Indonesia (UI) in participating in the boycott movement against products affiliated with Israel. Data were collected through an online survey of 408 UI students from the 2021–2024 cohorts. The sample was selected using the purposive sampling method. Analysis using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) demonstrates that anger, empathy, and subjective norms have a positive and significant impact on boycott intentions, while religiosity is not significant.
