This multivariable analysis of the Economic Development Administration’s allocation decisions examines the EDA’s post-pandemic impact through cross-state funding discrepancies. This research uses a comparative case study design focusing on two states, Texas and Vermont, that have different economic characteristics and receive varying levels of EDA funding. The key variables analyzed include the amount and programmatic category of EDA funding received, and the relationship between funding and broad economic indicators, such as employment statistics, economic output, and industry growth. This paper examines the dependence structure of different currencies versus the Nigerian Naira using constant and time-varying copula. Daily Naira/USD, Naira/Yuan, Naira/Pound, and Naira/Euro exchange rates from 23 December 2011 to 12 May 2020 were utilised. We fitted eight constant and time-varying copula families using the exchange rate standardised residuals. The study finds that the Naira exchange rate may be estimated with student t-copula, Symmetrized Joe-Clayton (SJC), or Rotated Gumbel copula models and Autoregressive (AR)– Glosten Jagannathan RunkleGeneralized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedastic (GJR-GARCH) (1,1) models with skewed t residuals for margins. This study examines external debt pass-through to inflation in Nigeria using annual data from 1981 to 2020 based on structural vector autoregressive (SVAR) model. The results reveal that an increase in external debt service leads to a significant depreciation of the exchange rate, which leads to a contemporaneous increase in inflation, while the direct response of inflation to external debt is statistically not significant. The impulse response confirms these results. The forecast error variance decomposition depicts that future values of official exchange rate depend on external debt, inflation and external debt service. This study investigates the role of microfinance institutions as a vehicle for driving financial inclusion and alleviating poverty in Nigeria using the EFinA 2018 household survey data. The probit model, propensity score matching, and average treatment effect methods are applied for the analyses. The study finds that financial inclusion driven by access to, and usage of products/services provided by microfinance institutions reduces poverty. The study constructs a financial inclusion index using the Sarma method and secondary data sourced from IMF and World Bank databases. System GMM is employed as the estimation method due to its effectiveness in addressing endogeneity issues and its efficient and consistent use of instruments. This study has provided new insights into the relationship between urbanization and human capital, made its implications at the global income group level and national level. In the first study, panel data of 87 countries used from 1991 to 2019. The results showed that education is found to be negatively and insignificantly associated with urbanization at the global level, but it is found to be positive (though insignificant) in low-income countries, and positive and significant in low-income countries and middle-income countries, and high-income countries. การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างรายได้ประชาชาติต่อหัวของประชากรกับอายุคาดเฉลี่ยด้วยวิธีการทดสอบความสัมพันธ์เชิงเหตุและผลของ Granger Causality ข้อมูลที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์เป็นข้อมูลทุติยภูมิ (Secondary data) ของประเทศในกลุ่ม CLMV (C: ราชอาณาจักรกัมพูชา L: สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว M: สาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมา V: สาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมเวียดนาม) เป็นประเภทอนุกรมเวลา โดยมีลักษณะเป็นรายปี ตั้งแต่ปี 2000-2018 ผลการศึกษาอายุคาดเฉลี่ยของกลุ่มประเทศ CLMV ทั้งประชากรชายและหญิง พบว่า การทดสอบความนิ่งของข้อมูล ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์ของ ADF test และ KPSS test ณ ระดับนัยสำคัญ 0.05 ที่ระดับต่างๆ และทำการทดสอบ Residual Tests พบว่า ไม่พบปัญหา Autocorrelation และไม่พบปัญหา Heteroscedasticity หลังจากนั้นได้ทำการทดสอบระดับความยากของค่าล่า (lag length) ที่เหมาะสม ผลการทดสอบสมมติฐานเชิงเหตุเชิงผล (Granger Causality) พบว่า การเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจเป็นต้นเหตุของอายุคาดเฉลี่ยของประชากรชายหญิงของประเทศราชอาณาจักรกัมพูชา และสาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมา ประชากรหญิงของสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว และประชากรชายของสาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมเวียดนาม แต่ผลการศึกษาที่ผลกลับกัน คือ อายุคาดเฉลี่ยเป็นต้นเหตุของรายได้ประชาชาติต่อหัวของประชากรชายหญิงของสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว ประชากรหญิงของสาธารณรัฐแห่งสหภาพเมียนมา และสาธารณรัฐสังคมนิยมเวียดนาม

The first chapter is entitled “Decomposing the GMO regulation impact on bilateral trade.” The essay analyses the complex impact of GMO regulations among countries on bilateral trade with a focus on GMO approvals. Three effects impact bilateral trade flows between trade partners: productivity enhancements in the source country, sorting cost from bilateral dissimilarity in regulations, and stringency impact on import demand. We conduct the first quantitative assessment of federal college subsidies during the 1930s. Overlapping generation households invest in children’s education to maximize multigenerational utility, and the government subsidizes college to maximize enrollment subject to a budget constraint and recipients satisfying ability and income qualifications. A modelling innovation assigns children educational ability through a random regression to the population mean correlated with father’s presumed ability ranking via his percentile in fathers’ earnings distribution. This paper examines the effects of Global Value Chains on economic output and unemployment in ten ASEAN countries from 1999 to 2018. This study provides estimation using the system GMM and panel causality test to determine the effect of GVC thoroughly. The results indicate a positive and significant effect of global value chains on economic output in ASEAN countries. However, the findings also show that global value chains increase unemployment during the observation period. This research addresses this gap in the literature by using the newly revised KOF Globalization Index to determine the impact of social, political, and financial globalization on African economies. While the United Nations describes Myanmar’s oppression of the Rohingya as “a textbook example of ethnic cleansing” (UN, 2017), the state maintains that the violence was idiosyncratic and not motivated by anti-Rohingya animus. We assemble existing and original large-sample data to evaluate these claims. First, we document systematic economic motives: violence against minority civilians increased in places suitable for rice cultivation when rice prices were high. Correspondingly, in an original representative survey of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh we find substantial losses of agricultural land, inputs, and inventories.
