One of the efforts to reduce poverty and improve community welfare is through entrepreneurship. Village owned enterprises (BUMDes) are one of the places for entrepreneurial learning for rural communities. Likewise, what happened at BUMDes Serang Makmur Sejahtera in Serang Village, Karangreja District, Purbalingga Regency. The research objective is to gather information about the function of BUMDes in improving the welfare of the community in rural areas. This article uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive type. Data were collected by observation and in-depth interviews with BUMDes managers, village officials, and village communities. This article uses historical research methods to explore noted disability rights leader Ed Roberts' performances on the speaker circuit between 1983, when he left his position as director of the California Department of Rehabilitation, and his death in 1995. This article examines how he managed his performed identity, his self as presented on stage, in order to be a disability star. Using his own life story as a poignant example, he narrated an autobiography of how a paralyzed man could live a vigorous, successful, indeed a joyful life. His personal stories communicated his lived experiences of battling discrimination and stereotypes. …

The socio-economic rights are the second generation of human rights groups which focus on the welfare aspect. According to Indonesian tourism policy in UU 10 year 2009, tourism will increase community welfare towards community participation. This research aims to identify community participation in tourism activity of Maimol beach using three main concepts namely: factors, forms and levels of participation. The method used was descriptive qualitative by conducting observations and direct interviews with predetermined informants such as the Government, the beach management, the community and tourists, as well as collecting research evidence in the form of image documentation. Population Health Research Brief Series

While COVID-19 case rates increased between April 10, 2020 and July 10, 2020 for both groups, from April 10 to May 1, the case rate increased by 2.5 times for people with IDD, from 2,225 to 5,544 cases per 100,000, but only increased by 1.6 times for New York State, from 886 to 1,584 cases per 100,000.

An online survey instrument was developed to assess employers’ perspectives on hiring job candidates with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The investigators used K-means clustering to categorize companies in clusters based on their hiring practices related to individuals with ASD. This methodology allowed the investigators to assess and compare the various factors of businesses that successfully hire employees with ASD versus those that do not. The cluster analysis indicated that company structures, policies and practices, and perceptions, as well as the needs of employers and employees, were important in determining who would successfully hire individuals with ASD. A nurturing and engaging environment within the family often leads to enhanced student performance. Nonetheless, the education system continues to struggle to connect with families from racially, ethnically, and culturally diverse groups, particularly parents with limited English proficiency or those who have children in special education programs. Amplified difficulties may arise because children with identified special needs—such as physical impairments, learning deficiencies, or developmental disabilities—require additional support, interventions, parental support, and/or services. Objectives

The Medicare Health Outcome Survey (HOS) is the largest longitudinal survey of the U.S. community-dwelling elderly population. This study estimated total life expectancy, active life expectancy (ALE), and disability-free life expectancy (DFLE) by disability status among HOS participants.

Methods

Data were from the Medicare HOS Cohort 15 (baseline 2012, follow-up 2014). We included respondents aged ≥ 65 years (n = 164,597). Participants’ disability status was assessed based on the following six activities of daily living (ADL): bathing, dressing, eating, getting in or out of chairs, walking, and using the toilet.
