The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study was to explore the lived experiences of African American therapists in forming therapeutic relationships with African American adult survivors of childhood sexual trauma. Although the therapeutic alliance is recognized as a critical component of trauma treatment, limited research has examined the role of demographic congruence in therapeutic relationships among African American trauma survivors. Purpose: To explore the impact of wellness strategies incorporating movement, physical activity, and play on the mental health and interpersonal relationships of Caribbean mothers aged 25 and older.

Methods: A phenomenological study was conducted in 2021 to delve into the lived experiences of seven Caribbean mothers. Semi-structured interviews were employed to gather rich, qualitative data on their perceptions of wellness, motherhood, and the role of movement and physical activity in their lives.

This purpose was achieved through research which was conducted on two college campuses with personnel from their police departments. This study explores the experiences of six school counselors-in-training (SCIT) in addressing child maltreatment through a hypothetical vignette, providing an in-depth understanding of their experiences. Four main themes and five sub-themes emerged, providing insight into their preparedness and challenges faced. These findings highlight critical areas for improvement in training programs to better equip SCIT for addressing child maltreatment in schools.

Participants were recruited from community-based agencies offering intensive in-home counseling services.
