It was the purpose of this intensified research to make an investigation of ( 1) the principles and practices of pastoral care and counseling 11 and (2) the various aspects of premarital and marital counseling.

The over-all purpose of this research was to acquire knowledge of the principles and practices of pastoral care and counseling and to develop skill in the specialized areas of this field of interpersonal relationships.

Theories of vocational choice are of current and vital interest to the counseling profession. Roe's theoretical work based on the Freudian assumption that occupational choice is related to family atmostphere has particularly stimulated recent research in this area.
