TikTok has influenced the development of student behavior. Therefore, a service strategy is needed to overcome TikTok addiction in students. This study aimed to determine whether there was a decrease in TikTok addiction in students after being given cognitive-behavioral counseling with the self-instruction method. The researchers employed experimental research with one group pretest-posttest designs as the research design. The research samples consisted of 18 students. The researchers utilized the TikTok addiction scale as the research instrument for collecting the data. Learning from home during the COVID-19 pandemic and learning face-to-face at school with strict health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic have long-term negative effects on the psychological health of students. This research examines the influence of peer groups in determining student career life. By using a quantitative approach, we aim to investigate the role of peer groups in Generation Z’s career exploration to respond to work transitions. The subjects of this study were 72 vocational high school students. Data collection was carried out using the Peer Group and Career Exploration scales which were developed by adapting the Likert scale. COVID-19 bears various traumatic impacts on students. This study aims to identify PTSD symptoms in junior and senior high school students after the COVID-19 outbreak. The study was conducted using a cross-sectional survey method. Meanwhile, the data was collected using a problem checklist instrument. Further, the obtained data were analyzed using non-parametric statistics with the Mann-Whitney test to identify differences in PTSD symptoms based on gender and level of education. This presentation was conducted for a national conference about mentoring. The authors discussed Tinto’s Model of Institutional Departure and Schlossberg’s Model for Analyzing Human Adaptation to Transition as theoretical frameworks to explain the transition and retention of university professors. The focus on the study was the three authors who transitioned to the same university during the 2022-2023 academic year. Authors discussed their experiences of the transition and found themes related to the mentoring process that that acclimated them to the institution and influenced their retention.

This research addresses how student participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) project-based learning (PBL) education activities encourages underrepresented minority student achievement in STEM career field trajectories. Seven New Mexico high school counselors and 12 STEM organization personnel were interviewed during this study. Their responses represent the nuanced professional voices where New Mexico public education intersects with STEM student interest and cultural influence.

For students, STEM PBL can foster deep integration across educational disciplines and enhance STEM career trajectory interest and readiness. STEM education converged with PBL methodologies has the ability to leverage community support while broadening student networks. …

This study aims to describe prospective counselors’ perceptions of professional identity concepts in the guidance and counseling field. This study used a qualitative approach with an exploratory, descriptive design. Research data were collected through open questionnaires and focus group discussions. This study investigates the effectiveness of solution-focused brief counseling and motivational interviewing in enhancing students’ self-disclosure. This study used a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The sixteen participants from State Junior High School 3 Comal, Indonesia, were selected through nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling. The participants were divided into experiment and control groups. Abstract

This study evaluated a counseling intervention called the University Turn Around Program (U-Turn) for college students experiencing mental health issues and low academic performance. Social Anxiety, Hostility, and Alcohol Use were measured on the CCAPS-34, and Attitude, Information Processing, Selecting Main Ideas, Test Strategies, and Using Academic Resources were measured on the LASSI-3. Paired samples t-tests revealed improvement for each measure (d = 0.45 to 1.09) supporting the U-Turn program’s inclusion in university counseling centers.

This study aims to determine the level of psychological well-being based on gender and level of education being pursued during the Covid-19 pandemic. Participants are students from various faculties and postgraduate programs from diploma, undergraduate, professional education, masters and doctoral education levels in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The instrument used is the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale which has been adapted by Engger with a content validity value of CVR equal to 1 which is in the good category and reliability is 0.935 in the good category. This study aims to develop a career exploration instrument based on Anne Roe’s classification to help junior high school students explore their career options. The development method uses the Syaiffudin Azwar instrument development model with 8 stages, namely the identification of measuring objectives; measuring domain restrictions; operationalization of aspects; writing and reviewing items; language test; field tests; item selection and; final compilation. The field test was carried out on 306 junior high school students in the Godean area, Yogyakarta.
