En este ensayo, los autores valoran las posiciones del escritor José Lezama Lima con la publicación Lunes de Revolución, en la que se expresan las complejas contradicciones entre los más importantes escritores cubanos de la época, entre ellos y en relación con la política cultural de la Revolución Cubana. Las posiciones de escritores como Guillermo Cabrera Infante, Heberto Padilla, José Rodríguez Feo, Virgilio Piñera y otros, se aprecian no solo en sus relaciones con el autor de Paradiso, sino en las complicadas conexiones con la orientación de la revolución.

La película narra una historia de amistad entre dos mujeres que ejercen la prostitución callejera en Madrid. La española Caye (Candela Peña) y la inmigrante dominicana Zulema (Micaela Nevárez). En principio expone el conflicto xenófobo y racista que invade también el submundo en el que se mueven las mujeres prostituidas. El rechazo de las españolas frente a las recién llegadas que son más guapas y más necesitadas y que por ello rebajan precios y les hunden el mercado.

Publicado en el año 2000, Dominicanish es un texto armado a partir de la obra poética de Báez y adaptado para el teatro por el dramaturgo y director Claudio Mir. Se trata de un texto rico en matices, intensidad y cruces inesperados; proteico en todo el sentido de la palabra.

De Sor Juana al siglo XXI. 21 escritoras mexicanas revolucionarias, de Patricia Rosas Lopátegui (Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, 2010) encontramos textos que varían ampliamente en contenido, tono, contextos, estrategias narrativas, y poéticas. Hay humor, melancolía, contemplaciones, tristeza y violencia. Colectivamente el libro no representa ningún ismo literario ni propone una filosofía o punto de vista sobre nada. Content analysis is a systematic research method for examining symbolical content in communication by recording or transcribing these messages into categories. Reliability is one of the most distinctive attributes of content analysis methodology comparing to other techniques in communication. A content analysis was conducted by analyzing the method sections of published journal articles in Communication Abstracts from January 2006 through January 2011 by searching "advertising" and "content analysis". Results suggested that television is still the most focused medium in advertising content analysis research. This study researched the effects of negative publicity on the performance of professional baseball athletes. Four athletes’ performance statistics were evaluated before a scandal that produced negative publicity, during the height of the negative publicity and after the scrutiny tapered off. Chipper Jones, Wade Boggs, Alex Rodriguez and David Justice were the athletes chosen for the study, and all four athletes experienced a similar scandal and negative publicity about their personal and professional lives. The results showed an effect on performance, but it was not always negative and could not be definitively linked to the negative exposure in the media. …

The purpose of this study was to determine how the tone and roles of women serving in the Iraq War were portrayed in newspaper articles. Issues of how women in the military were portrayed in terms of page and story prominence were also of importance.

A content analysis was conducted in order to determine the tone, roles, story, and page placement of newspaper articles published in the United States and the United Kingdom over a 7-year time period. Newspaper articles related to the topic were retrieved from the LexisNexis database and analyzed.

Talking Heads: How Broadcast Media Frame The Public Relations Industry., Samara Rose Litvack

Researchers conducted a content analysis to measure framing of the public relations industry in 354 English language broadcast transcripts from the United States, Canada, and Australia from Sept. 1, 2009 to Aug. 31, 2010.

The overall tone toward public relations was strongly negative. Mentions reflected one-way forms of communication and mentions of the pejorative term "PR" appeared more frequently than mentions of "public relations". The profession was almost always mentioned within the body of the broadcast, as opposed to the headline or the lead paragraph.

Exploratory research showed 15 shows that included negative mentions 100% of the time. Additionally, 27 …

I collected forty-two e-mail forwards over the course of four months, and from those I formulated a framework that adapts existing theory in collection and study of real-world folklore to the emerging folk communities that exist on the internet. Through this analysis I prove that the same genres of folklore that is routinely collected by folklorists have been adapted to fit the digital environment of the internet. I then use the framework that I lay out to perform a study of the e-mails themselves.

This thesis explores how game makers conceive of and navigate the intersection between digital systems and real world systems by asking, how can social impact game designers shape procedural rhetoric to effectively address complex real world systems with digital systems? Research suggests that males and females communicate using different styles of interaction. Men and women are biologically different, but evidence also demonstrates a social difference. The patterns displayed in cross- sex communication often reveal how men and women interact interpersonally. In conflict situations the contrasting behaviors between the sexes become more evident. The biased portrayal of female athletes by the media has been studied and discussed extensively. The Framing Theory hypothesis is used here to identify a correlation between the way female athletes are portrayed by the media and the way consumers frame their opinions based on these portrayals. A brief public opinion survey was given to a random sample of the student population at Coastal Carolina University. Of the 66 consumers surveyed, 51 (77%) stated that they believe there should be more media focused on female athletes. An insatiable thirst for oil has led poorly coordinated, risk-prone megasystems deeper into the ocean in search of new oil reserves. Profit-driven agendas at the corporate level have a top-down effect within these megasystems. Cost-cutting and risk-downplaying leaves the field employees unprepared to handle emergencies. A series of costly mistakes led to the 2010 BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which caused extensive damage to an already fragile ecosystem in the Gulf of Mexico. When women marry NFL players and subsequently become NFL wives, they are thrust out of the lives they have known and into a form of secondary socialization among other NFL wives. In this dissertation, I use ethnography and narrative inquiry, the first- person narratives of four NFL wives, interactive interviews with dozens of NFL wives, friendship as method, and my personal autoethnographic experiences to describe the social interactions between NFL wives, the themes of their marriages, and the trajectories of their identity formation and transformation of NFL wives during their time in the league.
