The metaverse, an interactive and immersive virtual world, has emerged as a critical theme in contemporary literature, significantly impacting narratives and character development. This paper explores the history and literary manifestations of the metaverse, investigating its influence on identity, space, and social interactions. We find that the metaverse supports flexible and individualistic identities, reshaping how characters and readers understand themselves. This study examines the digital diplomacy strategies of the Japan Self-Defense Force (JSDF) through its engagement on the YouTube platform. It aims to analyze how the JSDF leverages digital media to reshape its international image, which has remained critically low since World War II, and to strengthen its soft power. This lecture reflects on the transformative role of libraries as cultural bridges in an increasingly interconnected world, through a comprehensive review and analysis of international library systems. Employing a qualitative methodology combining institutional ethnography with comparative case analysis across European, Asian, and Latin American contexts, the research examines how libraries work as catalysts for cross-cultural understanding. Although open access (OA) has the capacity to democratize knowledge and access for readers worldwide, arts and humanities scholars do not publish their work OA as frequently as their colleagues in the sciences. A variety of factors contribute to their relative lack of engagement with OA publishing, including disparities in research funding, the format of research outputs, and the availability and prestige of OA publishing venues. In this session, we will report on interviews conducted with arts and humanities scholars that explored participants’ approaches to OA, their motivations for engaging with OA, and the barriers they encounter.

This study analyzes the formulation and implementation process of Depok Mayor Regulation No. 61 of 2023 on Tuberculosis (TB) Control using Friedman’s legal system theory (1975) and the eight General Principles of Good Governance (Asas Umum Pemerintahan yang Baik – AUPB). The regulation provides a comprehensive framework, encompassing promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative aspects to support TB control. The legal structure includes the establishment of a cross-sectoral Tuberculosis Control Acceleration Team, involving government agencies and community organizations. Purpose - This study examines the impact of the halal industry on economic growth in Muslim-majority countries, particularly in Asia, home to most of the global Muslim population.

Design/methodology/approach - Using a quantitative approach, this study applies panel data regression based on neoclassical growth theory. It analyses data from 2015 to 2022, using the Global Islamic Economy Indicator to measure the halal industry’s development. Economic growth is represented by constant GDP per capita, with foreign direct investment, inflation, and population growth as control variables.

When it was introduced, the dual-factor model of mental health revolutionized student mental health conceptualization by including measures of subjective well-being alongside psychopathological indicators. However, the manner in which students are assigned to mental health profiles may not be reflective of their actual characteristics. Youth and social media are increasingly intertwined, as their socio-cultural trajectories accelerate digital connectedness and intensify the contestation of diverse identities. Posting on social media has thus become a ritualized practice. This article explores how Indonesian university students construct identities by sharing achievement stories and success narratives on Instagram. Using qualitative data, it examines the experiences of students who have excelled in academic competitions. The study identifies two key typologies behind such posts. Despite increasing interest in social forestry, limited research has explored the interplay between community capacity and access within Indonesia’s Social Forestry Utilization Permit (IPHPS) scheme. This study examines the relationship between community capacity, access, and socio-economic impacts to inform effective policy implementation. Employing a qualitative case study approach, it focuses on a community granted an IPHPS Decree within the Perum Perhutani Forest Management Unit (KPH) Telawa. One of the most pressing questions after a stroke is whether an individual patient will recover in the long term. Previous studies demonstrated that spatial neglect—a common cognitive deficit after right hemispheric stroke—is a strong predictor for poor performance on a wide range of everyday tasks and for resistance to rehabilitation. This thesis investigates the ways Palestine refugees and UNRWA engaged with the material objects of humanitarianism in the context of Palestinian displacement. In particular, the focus is on UNRWA’s basic ration program and the techniques of humanitarian governance illustrated by the use of ration cards that shaped and were shaped by the refugee population. Perinatal Depression (PND) is a global public health issue affecting many women as they transition to motherhood, and carrying detrimental consequences for both mothers and infants.
