The present study was carried out to ascertain the attitude of library users towards information technology applications in two university libraries, viz. Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla and Punjabi University, Patiala. Survey method of research was used based on random sampling. 391 responses were collected from three user categories, i.e., PG Students, Research Scholars and Faculty Members in the faculties of Social Sciences and Sciences. Five departments from each faculty were taken further to attain more insight into users' attitude. A shift in library and librarian identities occurs as libraries and library workers evolve and explore new practices. These changes prompt a discussion of what constitutes “traditional” and “non-traditional” practice in libraries. Identity and gatekeeper theories provide a lens through which the process of introducing and incorporating professional practices in libraries can be understood and offer insights into how ‘non-traditional’ ideas can be incorporated into the concepts of what constitute library collections and services for library workers and other stakeholders. Modern Psychological Studies

There is a growing epidemic of children of color being disproportionately and inappropriately disciplined due to recommendations for exclusionary educational discipline practices such as suspension and expulsion. Throughout the literature, SES, level of ability, gender, and skin color were essential factors in evaluating students’ suspension risk. The most salient of these factors is race. Implicit bias towards darker-skinned students is the main factor for the discipline gap. This literature review explores the causes and rates that middle school and high school students of color are disproportionately recommended for suspension and expulsion and the consequences of racially discriminatory discipline practices. The project began in 2004 when Alex Jospe ’06, a Nordic skier who traveled Maine roads to meets, decided to use skills learned in a GIS class taught by Associate Professor of Environmental Studies Philip Nyhus. Jospe used data supplied by state transportation officials to map moose-collision hot zones. On a trip to Vermont, the map came in handy. “She came back all excited and said, ‘I saw a moose right where my map said I would,’” Nyhus recalled.

A double major in global studies and anthropology with a minor in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies, Powers was in Istanbul networking, scouring the city, making contacts with LGBTI refugees and activists, finding people to share their stories as part of a project at Colby, the Insurgent Mobilities Lab. The lab, involving more than a dozen students, is researching the dynamics of migration along the Balkan Route that hundreds of thousands of refugees have traveled in a grave effort to seek a better life in Northern Europe.

Bureau of Business & Economic Research

The New River Gorge Area has struggled for much of the last decade as secular declines in employment for several of the region’s traditional industries have proven difficult to overcome. More recently, the COVID-19 recession has caused significant turmoil for portions of the four-county area’s economy, most notably the tourism industry, but conditions have improved measurably over the past 18 months or so. In this report, we present a discussion of the New River Gorge Area’s recent economic performance and a forecast of the region’s economy over the next five years.
