This study investigated the feelings and conceptualizations about Advisory Programs of the teachers at one middle school in Southeast Iowa. Interviews were conducted to uncover the teachers' thoughts and perceptions on Advisory Programs at their middle school. The collected data was then evaluated and recommendations were made.

The purpose of the study was to determine if differences existed in level of exercise enjoyment, motivation, and perceived athletic competence between college students that exercise using sport activities and college students that exercise using fitness activities. Data were collected from 188 college students from a midsize comprehensive university in the Midwest. The questionnaire was designed to tap enjoyment, motivation, perceived athletic competence, and amount of physical activity. The participants were divided into four groups according to their exercise habits: high sport/high fitness, high sport/low fitness, low sport/high fitness, and low sport/low fitness. The purpose of this textual analysis of the role of women in historical fiction written for young people was to identify whether the portrayal of women in contemporary historical fiction varies from pre-Feminist era historical fiction. This researcher’s goal was to seek examples and compare the portrayal of women in novels written before and after 1970. Twenty-four novels were selected from historical novel bibliographies. Twelve novels written before 1970 and twelve written after 1970 were read and any identified patterns were included in the sorting process. In this essay, drawn from his keynote speech at the Greenleaf Center's 1999 conference, Dr. Covey describes what he calls the four roles of leadership-modeling, pathfinding, alignment, and empowerment-using examples and a nautical metaphor. Preservationists have long warned about the impending loss of items because of acidic paper. Any librarian who has worked with older materials knows that this warning is compelling. The risk is even more pronounced for the Christian library, especially libraries serving small denominational colleges and seminaries, because they often contain old and rare material, such as denominational historical accounts or small-run monographs, items that secular libraries may have long since discarded. These may be the last copies of an item.

We live in a postmodern society where some people doubt whether truth is knowable. But the challenges of having no room for a 1-credit required course in the core curriculum, cultivating faculty and student ownership of a campus-wide information literacy program, the integration of information literacy skills at the discipline, course and assignment levels, and development of appropriate assessment tools for measuring the effectiveness of the information literacy program seemed daunting.
