Career/Epscor: Geospatial Database-Driven Extraction Of Information From Digital Aerial Imagery, Peggy Agouris
Career/Epscor: Geospatial Database-Driven Extraction Of Information From Digital Aerial Imagery, Peggy Agouris
University of Maine Office of Research Administration: Grant Reports
This project aims at the advancement of the ability to extract spatial information from digital aerial imagery by taking advantage of geospatial databases to support and guide object extraction operations. It deals with aerial images representing scenes for which prior or complementary information already exists. Examples of such information are pre-existing digital maps, digital terrain models, and spatial information systems in general. The research plan involves: (1) matching images to existing databases for change detection; (2) analysis of scale differences between database information and image; and (3) developing metadata structures to convey accuracy information for objects contained in geospatial databases. …

Bowling Green In Vintage Postcards, Jonathan Jeffrey
SCL Faculty and Staff Book Gallery
Bowling Green in Vintage Postcards is an engaging collection designed to entertain, educate, and enthrall history buffs, residents, and visitors alike with scenes of Bowling Green of yesterday. When long hunters paused along the banks of the Barren River in 1776, little did they realize that this beautiful, varied landscape would one day boast a thriving city. Today, the city is hailed as the educational, retail, and commercial hub of South Central Kentucky. Preserved in this photo journal is the area’s rich and vibrant past. Showcased are things unique to the region—horses, tobacco, strawberries, building stone, Corvettes, and Western Kentucky …

The Anchor: 2002
The Anchor began in 1887 and was first issued weekly in 1914. Covering national and campus news alike, Hope College’s student-run newspaper has grown over the years to encompass over two-dozen editors, reporters, and staff. For much of The Anchor's history, the latest issue was distributed across campus each Wednesday throughout the academic school year (with few exceptions). As of Fall 2019 The Anchor has moved to monthly print issues and a more frequently updated website. Occasionally, the volume and/or issue numbering is irregular.

What Happened To Milk Prices This Year?, H. Douglas Jose
What Happened To Milk Prices This Year?, H. Douglas Jose
Cornhusker Economics
Dairy farmers don’t need to be reminded that milk prices have declined dramatically in the past year. In September, the U.S. average all milk price was $11.50, or down about one-third compared to a year ago. The answer lies in that basic economic tenet - supply and demand. Too much supply relative to the demand for milk and dairy products.

Brownfields Neighborhood Revitalization, Bhavna Shamasunder
Bhavna Shamasunder
Brownfields issues are significant points of advocacy and activism for creating substantial social change in low-income communitites. The authors identify key environmental justice issues present in the brownfields debate; provide an overview of existing laws, regulations, and policies that are currently in place to address brownfields contamination and revitalization; discuss the effectiveness of these current strategies; discuss emerging and potential innovative strategies for brownfields revitalization, and provide a set of "best practices" and resources that are being developed nationally to address brownfields in low-income communities and communities of color.
