Mother attending to appropriate child behavior and accompaning changes in appropriate child behavior were measured to assess the effects of various instructional conditions. Several appropriate behaviors for a group of child subjects were measured con currently under various stimulus conditions using interval recording procedures. A multiple baseline design was used with instructional conditions of (a) no instructions to mother, (b) instructions to mother to attend to all appropriate behaviors and only to appropriate behaviors, (c) instructions to mother to attend to specific behaviors as defined by one-word definitions, (d) instructions to mother to attend to the same specific behaviors as …

The United Nations Capital Development Fund was established by the U. N. General Assembly under Resolution 2168 (XXI) of 13 December 1966. Its expressed purpose was to assist developing countries in the development of their economies by supplementing existing sources of capital assistance by means of grants and loans, particularly long-term loans made free of interest or at low interest rates.

Studies dealing with the use of space have been concerned primarily with territoriality, the way man perceives space through his senses, and with the manner by which culture affects the location of persons in space. This study, like others, falls under the rubric of spatial ecology in that it deals with the occupation of space. This study focuses on the college classroom in an attempt to determine if the occupation of space is systematically patterned, that is, whether particular areas of the classroom are occupied by students with specifiable characteristics. Social scientists have long been concerned with the relationships between mental disorder and various sociocultural factors, such as, social economic status, ethnic background, sex, age, and marital status. Until quite recently, the majority of studies that have investigated these relationships have defined cases of mental disorder solely in terms of whether or not an individual was in psychiatric treatment (see Faris and Dunham, 1939; Rose and Stub, 1955; Hollingshead and Redlich, 1958).

A Comparison Between Self-Paced And Instructor-Paced Instructional Systems, Laura Lee Winter

Two college level systems of instruction derived from basic behavioral principals were compared. Community college students enrolled in two sections of an introductory psychology course served as subjects. Students in one section experienced a self-paced system of instruction. Students in the second section went through the course under an instructor-paced system of instruction. Students in the self-paced section received higher course grades and performed better on unit quizzes. However, the final examination performance for the two groups was about the same. Suggestions for further research are given.

Preface

Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau pointed out in 1968 that some seventy percent of Canadian foreign policy is directly affected by the relationship of Canada and the United States. Trudeau expressed hope that ways could be found to derive maximum independence from the remaining thirty percent. At the same time, Trudeau pointed out the need to decrease the presence of the United States in Canada's foreign policy. One of the ways Trudeau proposed to meet these objectives was the expanded use of countervailing forces. Casey, the past Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and recently appointed Under Secretary of State and Economic Affairs, forecasting should be the first and most important priority of all areas of management and public accounting. Only large institutional investment corporations have had access to such "useful" information when needed. Consequently, large investors are able to make more objective and intelligent investment decisions. A recent study determined that few investment corporations veritably have access to pertinent internal forecasting models. Joyous celebration swept the country as Castro made his triumphant journey across the island, leaving his hideout of two years in the Sierra Maestra for Havana.
