AbstractNonprofit organizations (NPOs) do not have a mandated requirement for implementing the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) of 2002; however, small Chicago NPOs had voluntarily implemented SOX provisions. The passage of SOX impacted the manner in which NPOs govern, provide disclosures, and audit their records. It was not known what the experiences, including facilitators or barriers, had been in that effort. The accountability mechanism theory by Ostrower and Stone provided the framework for this study. AbstractMultiple barriers impede individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs) from gaining access to jobs that are competitive and integrated and that offer them a living wage. People with IDDs experience an inability to develop necessary employable skills and may be affected by hiring manager perceptions and lack of awareness of available job opportunities. The opioid epidemic in the United States has increased opioid use in women of reproductive age, leading to in utero exposure causing withdrawal symptoms in newborns known as neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS). Leaders in the pharmaceutical industry who fail to improve complaint-handling strategies can experience a decrease in profitability. Grounded in the double-loop learning theory, the purpose of this qualitative single-case study was to explore effective strategies business leaders use to manage customer complaints in a pharmaceutical company. AbstractAfrican American women are underrepresented in executive/senior-level positions in public and nonprofit organizations. The purpose of the study was to identify how workplace culture characteristics inform the career development of African American women. The conceptual framework incorporated Hegel’s standpoint theory and Collins’ Black feminist thought, emphasizing the importance of perspective differences stemming from social or professional experiences.
