Research connecting Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is growing. The disorders share several overlapping characteristics, neurological deficits, and similar comorbid disorders. Although these disorders are typically sex-specific, the presence of externalizing and internalizing characteristics may link these disorders. These commonalities have resulted in a developing theory suggesting that a childhood ADHD diagnosis may predict adult BPD symptoms. The current study aimed to test this developing theory. The sample included 175 emerging adults (64.6% female). Research indicates that one of the most popular forms of media, violent video games can increase aggressive behavior and cognitions (Anderson & Bushman, 2001). Prior research has examined the effects of these media using the General Aggression Model (GAM; Anderson & Bushman, 2001; Bushman & Anderson, 2002). The current study examines an alternative method by which video games (and other forms of media) can encourage aggressive behaviors, via mortality salience effects. The determinants of Division I men’s college hockey attendance are examined. Data includes 58 schools over the past 10 years. Based on previous studies of sports attendance potential determinants include a team’s success in current and past seasons, demographic variables such as enrollment and the percentage of students who are women, and potential competition from other sports. Higher winning percentages and winning the NCAA championship in the previous season increased attendance, while having a basketball team in the AP Top 25 reduced attendance. This paper examines the possibility of discrimination based on gender and/or race in NCAA Division-I coaching. High-profile male coaches earn higher salaries than female coaches, which could reflect labor-market discrimination. This paper investigates the determinants of coaches’ compensation. Because the number of female coaches in men’s sports is trivial, this study is limited to women’s sports. Using salary data from the 2012 fiscal year for public universities in three Division-I conferences – Missouri Valley, Big 10, and Big 12 – I look at a variety of revenue and non-revenue generating women’s sports. This study utilizes tree‐rings from the Wind River Range to determine past climates in this region of Wyoming and how they may have been affected by climate oscillations connected to the Pacific Ocean, such as El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO). The research considers what type(s) of past climatic cycles can be found in a roughly 500‐year series of tree‐rings collected from the Southeast Wind River Range using dendroclimatology and spectral analysis. his study examined the portrayal of victims and offenders of human trafficking in three major newspapers from 2005- 2012. Additionally, this study examined if the age, gender, and legal status effected the portrayal of victims and offenders in the newspapers. Also included is an examination of groups of claims-makers and whether different groups portrayed victims and offenders same or differently. Utilizing a quantitative and qualitative content analysis to analyze the newspapers’ framing of victims and offenders, this research compared the portrayal of its groups. The research aimed to systematize and analyze available historical (archival) data on wild reindeer (Rangifer tarandus L.) migration and ecosystems change in the Taimyr Peninsula, Russia. According to the Good Lives Model (Ward, 2002) it is imperative that offenders in rehabilitation recognize which life goals are important to them and how they can achieve a ‘good life.’ Including the evaluation of life goals in treatment can be beneficial not only for the individuals being treated but for the community into which they are transitioning. Seventy-six male, residential offenders were assessed on type and perception of life goals during semi-structured interviews. A large amount of research supports the idea that little change in personality occurs over time (e.g., Caspi & Roberts, 2001). However, changes in an individual’s personality across different situations, known as intraindividual, or within-person, variability, has not received nearly as much empirical attention, in part due to the difficulties inherent in measuring personality across situations. The present study evaluated a measure of within-person variability called frequency-based measurement by comparing it with situational personality expression. Two direct quotes from these interviews portray the impact studying abroad had on them.
