A Comparative Study Ot The Manner Of Treatment Of The Sino-Japanese Conflict Of 1937-38 As Found In The New York Times, Chicago Daily News And Milwaukee Journal During The First Month Of Hostilities In July, 1937, Paul G. Kaponya
Bachelors’ Theses
Since The New York Times is universally acknowledged as having the most thorough coverage of foreign news among the daily papers of America, one inevitably takes it as a basis for comparisons and valuable information. This, coupled with the fact that the New York paper was examined first, resulted in the use of it as a gauge by which The Chicago Daily News and The Milwaukee Journal were judged.

An Investigation Of The Chicago Tribune's Treatment Of Political News In The 1936 Election, Frederick James Zusy
An Investigation Of The Chicago Tribune's Treatment Of Political News In The 1936 Election, Frederick James Zusy
Bachelors’ Theses
Before any attempt was made to gather material for this thesis, the writer interviewed Mr. Victor Sholis, political writer with the Chicago Times, who traveled with Roosevelt and Landon during the campaign, being to the Times what Arthur Sears Henning was to the Tribune. Mr. Sholis offered many valuable hints regarding what to look for in the study that was to be made. He made special mention of the "Riga dispatch," which is discussed in the first chapter, and the "Mellowdrama" of the Button Hoax and the Social Security pictures discussed in chapter two of this work.
With these points …

A History Of The Milwaukee Journal From 1921 To The Present (1937), Marcella Marguerite Connelly
Bachelors’ Theses
Though the title, A History of The Milwaukee Journal from 1921 to the Present (1937), may suggest merely a compilation of facts and figures showing material changes during that fifteen year period, that is not the primary object of this study. The author has chosen to pass lightly over the matters of mechanical changes, minor personnel adjustments, circulation increases and the like. Even the great work of Lucius Niemann, founder and inspiration of the paper, will be only briefly referred to, for that might well be the subject of another research.
