When conflicts involving interpersonal relationships arise within the school setting, it would appear appropriate to attempt to cope with these conflicts within the framework of the school; particularly the classroom. Many methods of modifying behavior through group procedures have been attempted with varying degrees of success. It was the purpose of this study to investigate the effectiveness of one such method; a fiIm-discussion technique. This program was developed to modify behaviors, attitudes and/or perceptions which interfere with the development of constructive interpersonal relationships within an elementary classroom.

A study designed: (1) to determine whether the building level Role Definition produced by the ad hoc Joint Standards Committee was representative of the roles performed by the media personnel, and (2) to determine the role duties of district media personnel. The study showed the Role Definition to be representative and the district level proposal emphasizing administrative and coordinative responsibilities. It was recommended a future study be conducted to further the knowledge of the role/duties of district media personnel.

Nearly every teacher in our schools today feels the pressure of too little time and too much to do. Although school administrators cannot provide all the help that is wanted and, perhaps, needed at one time. the teacher can find help from one source in nearly every school-- the library or media center and the specialists in this field.

To understand this help offered by the librarian and audiovisual specialist and the services of the media c:enter, let us first look at the place of the media center in the modern schools and how it has developed.

The study gathered data and compared professional opinions which were used to identify appropriate assignments, selection criteria, training procedures, and supervision of paraprofessional personnel for community college counseling services. A related purpose was that guidelines might be developed for the appropriate utilization, selection, preparation, and supervision of paraprofessional workers.

The purpose of the project is to establish a data gathering system that will provide decision makers an information base on which to 1) Plan for current program maintenance, 2) Plan for program change and 3) Identify changes in student need as a basis for future Title I funding.

In establishing the system, two requirements had to be met. First, the system had to be simple so a person with limited training could operate it. Second, the system had to keep individual students identifiable to facilitate treatment and academic program planning. Developing the system within these constraints required the data …
