ABSTRACT

In many organizations, similar operations are carried out at different locations. This is certainly true of plant operations, and for many corporations, is also true for their business offices. For example, in the AT&T System, the everyday contact with customers is performed in approximately twenty-one hundred different business office locations. These offices all perform very similar work functions. Other organizations such as the utilities and various government agencies also have this characteristic in that many different office locations perform essentially the same work tasks.

According to William J. Casey, the past Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and recently appointed Under Secretary of State and Economic Affairs, forecasting should be the first and most important priority of all areas of management and public accounting. Only large institutional investment corporations have had access to such "useful" information when needed. Consequently, large investors are able to make more objective and intelligent investment decisions. A recent study determined that few investment corporations veritably have access to pertinent internal forecasting models. Job Satisfaction Of Police Officers In Second Class Cities In Kentucky, Joan Robertson

Masters Theses & Specialist Projects

The purpose of this study is to attempt to find out how the police officers in the second-class cities in Kentucky view their work. Questions asked concern relationships with the public, their supervisors, and co-workers; opinions of recent court rulings affecting their work; and their sentiments about salaries and plans to continue in police work. After assessing the job satisfaction of the officers, the results were correlated with other studies and recommendations are made directed toward increasing the officers' motivation and effectiveness in performing their duties.
