Carnivores are distributed widely and threatened by habitat loss, poaching, climate change, and disease. They are considered integral to ecosystem function through their direct and indirect interactions with species at different trophic levels. Interpersonal violence such as teen dating violence is a severe public health problem. Teen dating violence, including sexual violence (unwanted sexual contacts or activities), physical and psychological dating violence, sexual harassment, and stalking, affects high school students' physical and mental health and academic achievement in the United States. Dating violence is linked to psychological abuse perpetration in the future, depression, anxiety, and hostility. The teen dating violence victimization experience was related to antisocial behavior, drug abuse, increased heavy drinking, depression, suicidal ideation, smoking, and adult interpersonal violence victimization during adolescence.
