Scientific Bulletin. Physical and Mathematical Research

The last three decades of the development of solid state physics are characterized by the fact that the main objects of research are increasingly not massive crystals, but thin films, multilayer thin-film systems, conducting filaments and crystallites of small size. Epitaxial films are grown on a substrate of a single crystal of the same or another material. In the first case, the epitaxial layer with the correct technology becomes a natural extension of the substrate. Epitaxial film can be doped with various impurities. To introduce an alloying admixture into the epitaxial film, three methods are used. According to the first …

A Review Of Ball Lightning Models, Hasitha Mahabaduge Dec 2019

A Review Of Ball Lightning Models, Hasitha Mahabaduge

Georgia Journal of Science

Ball lightning is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the atmosphere. However due to its brevity and rarity, its occurrence is not well understood. Three models based on electromagnetic properties are discussed in this paper to explain the rare phenomenon of ball lightning. The first model incorporates the idea of electron bunching, electrons moving with different velocities. This creates a plasma bubble by recombining electrons with ionized gas to form plasma that is stabilized by a standing microwave. The second model explains the idea of streamers being tangled and linked in a magnetic field while stabilized by the conservation of …

Our objective is to obtain the non-similarity solution of non-Newtonian fluid for Powell-Eyring model by a local non-similarity method. Here, free stream velocity is considered in power-law form (𝑈=𝑥m). The governing equations are transformed using non-similar transformations and derived equations are treated as ordinary differential equations. Non-similar solutions are obtained for different values of power-law index 𝑚 and stream-wise location 𝜉. Influence of various parameters on velocity and temperature field are presented graphically using MATLAB bvp4c solver.

Application Of Reduced Differential Transform Method For Solving Two-Dimensional Volterra Integral Equations Of The Second Kind, Seyyedeh R. Moosavi Noori, Nasir Taghizadeh

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this paper, we propose new theorems of the reduced differential transform method (RDTM) for solving a class of two-dimensional linear and nonlinear Volterra integral equations (VIEs) of the second kind. The advantage of this method is its simplicity in using. It solves the equations straightforward and directly without using perturbation, Adomian’s polynomial, linearization or any other transformation and gives the solution as convergent power series with simply determinable components. Also, six examples and numerical results are provided so as to validate the reliability and efficiency of the method.
