The aim of this paper is to study the properties of various (α, α') cuts on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Matrices. Here we introduce different kinds of cuts on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets. We discuss some properties of the cuts with some other existing operators on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Matrix. Finally some representation and decomposition of an Intuitionistic Fuzzy Matrix using (α, α') cuts are given.

In this paper, we introduce the notion of (semi)topological BCC-algebras and derive here conditions that imply a BCC-algebra to be a (semi)topological BCC-algebra. We prove that for each cardinal number α there is at least a (semi)topological BCC-algebra of order α: Also we study separation axioms on (semi)topological BCC-algebras and show that for any infinite cardinal number α there is a Hausdorff (semi)topological BCC-algebra of order α with nontrivial topology.

Circulant matrices over finite fields are widely used in cryptographic hash functions, Lattice based cryptographic functions and Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). Maximum distance separable codes over finite field GF2 have vital a role for error control in both digital communication and storage systems whereas maximum distance separable matrices over finite field GF2 are used in block ciphers due to their properties of diffusion. Rhotrices are represented in the form of coupled matrices. In the present paper, we discuss the circulant- like rhotrices and then construct the maximum distance separable rhotrices over finite fields.

The main purpose of this paper is to examine the road towards the structure of simple and semi-simple Artinian rings. We refer to these structure theorems as the Wedderburn-Artin theorems. On this journey, we will discuss R-modules, the Jacobson radical, Artinian rings, nilpotency, idempotency, and more. Once we reach our destination, we will examine some implications of these theorems. As a fair warning, no ring will be assumed to be commutative, or to have unity. On that note, the reader should be familiar with the basic findings from Group Theory and Ring Theory.

Given a finite-dimensional noncommutative semisimple algebra A over C with involution, we show that A always has a basis B for which ( A , B ) is a reality-based algebra. For algebras that have a one-dimensional representation δ , we show that there always exists an RBA-basis for which δ is a positive degree map. We give a generalization of the Beurling–Lax theorem both in the complex and quaternionic settings. We consider in the first case functions meromorphic in the right complex half-plane, and functions slice hypermeromorphic in the right quaternionic half-space in the second case. In both settings we also discuss a unified framework, which includes both the disk and the half-plane for the complex case and the open unit ball and the half-space in the quaternionic setting.

This thesis studies the ring of invariants R^G of a cyclic p-group G acting on k[x_1,\ldots, x_n] where k is a field of characteristic p >0. We consider when R^G is Cohen-Macaulay and give an explicit computation of the depth of R^G. Using representation theory and a result of Nakajima, we demonstrate that R^G is a unique factorization domain and consequently quasi-Gorenstein. We answer the question of when R^G is F-rational and when R^G is F-regular.

Molecular Dynamics (MD) is the numerical simulation of a large system of interacting molecules, and one of the key components of a MD simulation is the numerical estimation of the solutions to a system of nonlinear differential equations. Such systems are very sensitive to discretization and round-off error, and correspondingly, standard techniques such as Runge-Kutta methods can lead to poor results. However, MD systems are conservative, which means that we can use Hamiltonian mechanics and symplectic transformations (also known as canonical transformations) in analyzing and approximating solutions. This paper investigates connections between algebraic structures that are common in theoretical computer science and algebraic logic. Idempotent semirings are the basis of Kleene algebras, relation algebras, residuated lattices and bunched implication algebras. Extending a result of Chajda and Länger, we show that involutive residuated lattices are determined by a pair of dually isomorphic idempotent semirings on the same set, and this result also applies to relation algebras. Generalized bunched implication algebras (GBI-algebras for short) are residuated lattices expanded with a Heyting implication. We construct bounded cyclic involutive GBI-algebras from so-called weakening relations, and prove that the class of weakening …

In this paper, we start the study of stochastic processes over the skew field of quaternions. We discuss the relation between positive definite functions and the covariance of centered Gaussian processes and the construction of stochastic processes and their derivatives. The use of perfect spaces and strong algebras and the notion of Fock space are crucial in this framework.

In the past 50 years, quantum physicists have discovered, and experimentally demonstrated, a phenomenon which they termed superoscillations. Aharonov and his collaborators showed that superoscillations naturally arise when dealing with weak values, a notion that provides a fundamentally different way to regard measurements in quantum physics. From a mathematical point of view, superoscillating functions are a superposition of small Fourier components with a bounded Fourier spectrum, which result, when appropriately summed, in a shift that can be arbitrarily large, and well outside the spectrum. Specifications grading offers an alternative to more traditional, points-based grading and assessment structures. In place of partial credit, students are assessed pass/fail on whether or not they have achieved the learning outcomes being assessed on a given piece of work according to certain specifications, with limited opportunities for revision of non-passing work. This paper is concerned with finding a combinatorial Schur expansion of the modified Macdonald polynomials. We will use the Robinson–Schensted–Knuth (RSK) algorithm to obtain the result for a limited set of partition shapes, and we will use Foata’s bijection to extend the result to conjugate shapes. We will explore possibilities for modifying the RSK algorithm in such a way that it could be applied to obtain the result for more general shapes.

Supersymmetry is a theoretical model of particle physics that posits a symmetry between bosons and fermions. Supersymmetry proposes the existence of particles that we have not yet observed and through them, offers a more unified view of the universe. In the same way Feynman Diagrams represent Feynman Integrals describing subatomic particle behaviour, supersymmetry algebras can be represented by graphs called adinkras. In addition to being motivated by physics, these graphs are highly structured and mathematically interesting. The purpose of this thesis is to introduce and illustrate some of the deep connections between commutative and homological algebra. We shall cover some of the fundamental definitions and introduce several important classes of commutative rings. The later chapters will consider a particular class of rings, the \emph{fiber product}, and, among other results, show that any Gorenstein fiber product is precisely a one dimensional hypersurface. It will also be shown that any Noetherian local ring with a (nontrivially) decomposable maximal ideal satisfies the Auslander-Reiten conjecture. To conclude, generalizations of results by Takahashi and Atkins-Vraciu shall be presented.

In this largely expository article we present an elementary construction of Lusztig’s canonical basis in type ADE. The method, which is essentially Lusztig’s original approach, is to use the braid group to reduce to rank two calculations. Some of the wonderful properties of the canonical basis are already visible: that it descends to a basis for every highest weight integrable representation, and that it is a crystal basis.

The design of agent-based models (ABMs) is often ad-hoc when it comes to defining their scope. In order for the inclusion of features such as network structure, location, or dynamic change to be justified, their role in a model should be systematically analysed. We propose a mechanism to compare and assess the impact of such features. We here study Finite Impulse Response (FIR) rectangular, not necessarily causal, systems which are (para)-unitary on the unit circle (=the class U). First, we offer three characterizations of these systems. Then, introduce a description of all FIRs in U, as copies of a real polytope, parametrized by the dimensions and the McMillan degree of the FIRs.

Finally, we present six simple ways (along with their combinations) to construct, from any FIR, a large family of FIRs, of various dimensions and McMillan degrees, so that whenever the original system is in U, so is the whole family.

Namely, if f = a_1x_1^d + a_2x_2^d +...+ a_{d^2+1}x^d where the coefficients a_i lie in a finite unramified extension of a rational p-adic field, where p is an odd prime, then f is isotropic. This dissertation is divided into four chapters. In Chapter 2 the equivariant homology groups of upper order ideals in the partition lattice are computed. The homology groups of these filters are written in terms of border strip Specht modules as well as in terms of links in an associated complex in the lattice of compositions. The classification is used to reproduce topological calculations of many well-studied subcomplexes of the partition lattice, including the d-divisible partition lattice and the Frobenius complex.
