Certain Expansion Formulae Involving A Basic Analogue Of Fox’S H-Function, S. D. Purohit, R. K. Yadav, S. L. Kalla
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
Certain expansion formulae for a basic analogue of the Fox’s H-function have been derived by the applications of the q-Leibniz rule for the Weyl type q-derivatives of a product of two functions. Expansion formulae involving a basic analogue of Meijer’s G-function and MacRobert’s E-function have been derived as special cases of the main results.

Building on techniques developed by C. C. Cowen and E. A. Gallardo-Gutiérrez [J. Funct. Anal. 238 (2006), no. 2, 447–462;MR2253727 (2007e:47033)], we find a concrete formula for the adjoint of a composition operator with rational symbol acting on the Hardy space H 2 . We consider some specific examples, comparing our formula with several results that were previously known.

Super Linear Algebra, Florentin Smarandache, W.B. Vasantha Kandasamy
Super Linear Algebra, Florentin Smarandache, W.B. Vasantha Kandasamy
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
In this book, the authors introduce the notion of Super linear algebra and super vector spaces using the definition of super matrices defined by Horst (1963). This book expects the readers to be well-versed in linear algebra. Many theorems on super linear algebra and its properties are proved. Some theorems are left as exercises for the reader. These new class of super linear algebras which can be thought of as a set of linear algebras, following a stipulated condition, will find applications in several fields using computers. The authors feel that such a paradigm shift is essential in this computerized …

N- Linear Algebra Of Type I And Its Applications, Florentin Smarandache, W.B. Vasantha Kandasamy
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
With the advent of computers one needs algebraic structures that can simultaneously work with bulk data. One such algebraic structure namely n-linear algebras of type I are introduced in this book and its applications to n-Markov chains and n-Leontief models are given. These structures can be thought of as the generalization of bilinear algebras and bivector spaces. Several interesting n-linear algebra properties are proved. This book has four chapters. The first chapter just introduces n-group which is essential for the definition of nvector spaces and n-linear algebras of type I. Chapter two gives the notion of n-vector spaces and several …

N-Linear Algebra Of Type Ii, Florentin Smarandache, W.B. Vasantha Kandasamy
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
This book is a continuation of the book n-linear algebra of type I and its applications. Most of the properties that could not be derived or defined for n-linear algebra of type I is made possible in this new structure: n-linear algebra of type II which is introduced in this book. In case of n-linear algebra of type II, we are in a position to define linear functionals which is one of the marked difference between the n-vector spaces of type I and II. However all the applications mentioned in n-linear algebras of type I can be appropriately extended to …
Special Classes Of Set Codes And Their Applications, Florentin Smarandache, W.B. Vasantha Kandasamy
Special Classes Of Set Codes And Their Applications, Florentin Smarandache, W.B. Vasantha Kandasamy
Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications
In this book the authors introduce the notion of set codes, set bicodes and set n-codes. These are the most generalized notions of semigroup n-codes and group n-codes. Several types of set ncodes are defined. Several examples are given to enable the reader to understand the concept. These new classes of codes will find applications in cryptography, computer networking (where fragmenting of codes is to be carried out) and data storage (where confidentiality is to be maintained). We also describe the error detection and error correction of these codes. The authors feel that these codes would be appropriate to the …
Existence Of A Solution To Hartree-Fock Equations With Decreasing Magnetic Field, Mattias Enstedt, Michael Melgaard
Existence Of A Solution To Hartree-Fock Equations With Decreasing Magnetic Field, Mattias Enstedt, Michael Melgaard
Articles
In the presence of an external magnetic field, we prove existence of a ground state within the Hartree–Fock theory of atoms and molecules. The ground state exists provided the magnetic field decreases at infinity and the total charge of nuclei exceeds , where is the number of electrons. In the opposite direction, no ground state exists if .
Multigrid Convergence For Second Order Elliptic Problems With Smooth Complex Coefficients, Jay Gopalakrishnan, Joseph E. Pasciak
Multigrid Convergence For Second Order Elliptic Problems With Smooth Complex Coefficients, Jay Gopalakrishnan, Joseph E. Pasciak
Mathematics and Statistics Faculty Publications and Presentations
The finite element method when applied to a second order partial differential equation in divergence form can generate operators that are neither Hermitian nor definite when the coefficient function is complex valued. For such problems, under a uniqueness assumption, we prove the continuous dependence of the exact solution and its finite element approximations on data provided that the coefficients are smooth and uniformly bounded away from zero. Then we show that a multigrid algorithm converges once the coarse mesh size is smaller than some fixed number, providing an efficient solver for computing discrete approximations. Numerical experiments, while confirming the theory, …
Tests For Correlation On Bivariate Nonnormal Distributions, Louanne Margaret Beversdorf
Tests For Correlation On Bivariate Nonnormal Distributions, Louanne Margaret Beversdorf
UNF Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Many samples in the real world are very small in size and often do not follow a normal distribution. Existing tests for correlation have restrictions on the distribution of data and sample sizes, therefore the current tests cannot be used in some real world situations.
In this thesis, two tests are considered to test hypotheses about the population correlation coefficient. The tests are based on statistics transformed by a saddlepoint approximation and by Fisher's Z-transformation. The tests are conducted on small samples of bivariate nonnormal data and found to perfom well.
Simulations were run in order to compare the type …
Algorithm-Independent Optimal Input Fluxes For Boundary Identification In Thermal Imaging, Kurt Bryan, Lester Caudill
Algorithm-Independent Optimal Input Fluxes For Boundary Identification In Thermal Imaging, Kurt Bryan, Lester Caudill
Department of Math & Statistics Faculty Publications
An inverse boundary determination problem for a parabolic model, arising in thermal imaging, is considered. The focus is on intelligently choosing an effective input heat flux, so as to maximize the practical effectiveness of an inversion algorithm. Three different methods, based on different interpretations of the term “effective", are presented and analyzed, then demonstrated through numerical examples. It is noteworthy that each of these flux-selection methods is independent of the particular inversion algorithm to be used.
