The detection depth of traditional logging tools is basically less than 3 m, and without azimuth resolution, the formation structure in larger area around wells cannot be imaged. Therefore the problems arising in the detection of subtle structure and oil and gas reservoirs can not be solved. In response to such problems, radar imaging logging tool is developed by applying ground penetrating radar imaging technology to logging. Mining activities are bound to produce enormous mine water drainage. Mine water in China shows relatively poor water quality and high cost of water treatment and other problems. Firstly, the main characteristics of mine water quality in China's typical mine areas are clarified in this paper: conventional ions are the main chemical components causing poor mine water quality; mine water has a small proportion of toxic and harmful substances, which is generally better than the quality standard of class Ⅲ groundwater. Based on historical water quality data and sampling test results, using Piper three-line diagram, correlation analysis, hydrogen and oxygen isotope, Gibbs diagram, ion ratio and saturation index, etc., the hydrochemical characteristics and genetic mechanism of the groundwater with high TDS in Xinjulong Coal Mine area were explored. The results show that with the proceeding of mine construction and coal mining, the water chemistry environment in the study area has changed. The paper reviews methods and trends of numerical modelling of geomechanical processes around underground mine excavations. The most rational method of determining the additional stresses caused by the mine excavations is chosen. Mathematical modelling was performed for excavations of various cross sections and different strength of rocks. The dimensions of the inelastic deformation zone around the mine excavations have been identified. The area of the total fracture zone around the excavation, as well as the area of the roof fracture zone are calculated. The results of the fracture zone modelling are presented both as coordinates and in a graphical form. …

Thin Safety Margin charts the history of SEFOR, a twenty-megawatt reactor that operated for three years in the rural Ozark Mountains of Arkansas as part of an internationally sponsored program designed to demonstrate the Doppler effect in plutonium-oxide-fueled fast reactors. Authors Jerry Havens and Collis Geren draw upon this history to assess the accidental explosion risk inherent in using fast reactors to reduce the energy industry’s carbon dioxide emissions.

Passenger vehicles are major pollutants because on average a typical passenger vehicle emits about 4.6 metric tons of carbon dioxide per year. I highly support the idea that Rwanda joined on November 11, 2021, a group of countries at the COP26 United Nations climate talks that have made an agreement to end polluting vehicles by 2040. Rwanda is a landlocked country with a 12.95 million population as of 2020 (World Bank). Rwanda currently has over 221,000 registered vehicles; 83,980 are passenger vehicles, 114,900 vehicles (52 percent of those vehicles) are motorcycles and the rest include public transports (buses and minibuses) …
