This bulletin presents, in tabular form, information relating to the Precambrian surface and includes a configuration map of this surface in Nebraska. The data from all of the 1460 deep tests reaching the Precambrian as of January 1, 1966 are listed. It is anticipated that further studies utilizing this data will be made due to the important influence of the Precambrian surface on later sedimentation and structure and the possibility of minerals of economic importance being present in Precambrian rocks. Specific information for each well and samples, except as noted in the tabulation, are on file and available for study …

Revision Of The Classification Of The Pleistocene Deposits Of Nebraska, E. C. Reed, V. H. Dreeszen
Conservation and Survey Division: Faculty and Staff Publications
The first major contribution of the Conservation and Survey Division to Pleistocene stratigraphy was that of A. L. Lugn (1935) who established a classification of the periglacial deposits of the state and related these deposits to the glacial stages. G. E. Condra and E. C. Reed (1950) used information aquired during the 1935-1950 period in making important revisions to Lugn's classifications. This report was a further revision based on studies made from 1950 to publication date (1965).

In order to elaborate all aspects of the sulfur problem in alfalfa production, a series of field, greenhouse and laboratory experiments was initiated to determine: 1. The influence of sulfur fertilization on the yield of alfalfa in Nebraska. 2. The influence of sulfur fertilization on the protein, vitamin A, and sulfur contents of alfalfa. 3. The sulfur supplying capacities of various soils under field and greenhouse conditions. 4. The sulfur content of precipitation at widely scattered points in Nebraska. 5. This study was undertaken to inventory the soils and vegetation of certain areas of the Sandhills and to seek edaphic characteristics that may be the limiting factor in the distribution of various plant species. Information of this nature will permit formulation of more accurate management practices because of a refinement in delineation of range sites.
