The goal of this project is to create a web application to help people learn about the stock market. The Virtual Sports Stock Exchange (VSSX) simulates market trading based on the world of sports. It allows users to experiment with different economic models. Virtual Sports Stock Exchange (VSSX) uses HTML and Java Server Page to generate the output and calculations and it uses Java Servlet to interact with the Oracle 9i database.

Functional proton-beam stereotactic radiosurgery requires sub-millimeter alignment accuracy. A patient tracking system called Sequential Alignment and Position Verification System (SAVPS) is under development at Loma Linda University Medical Center. An optical positioning system (OPS), manufactured by Vicon Peak, has been chosen to verify the correct alignment of the target with the proton beam axis. The main objective of this thesis is to optimize an existing version of SAVPS by conducting error analysis. This project describes Automine, a program intended to aid in the solving of the Minesweeper computer game. Automine is based on the Linux xwindow C program with xwindow graphic library. The program uses heuristics and probability statistics to help in determining safe squares and squares concealing mines with the goal of allowing a player to achieve minimal time performance. The source code for Automine and for a game simulation is provided in the appendices.
