Under stereo settings, the problems of disparity estimation, stereo magnification and stereo-view synthesis have gathered wide attention. However, the limited image quality brings non-negligible difficulties in developing related applications and becomes the main bottleneck of stereo images. To the best of our knowledge, stereo image restoration is rarely studied. Towards this end, this paper analyses how to effectively explore disparity information, and proposes a unified stereo image restoration framework. The proposed framework explicitly learn the inherent pixel correspondence between stereo views and restores stereo image with the cross-view information at image and feature level. A Feature Modulation Dense Block (FMDB) …

Performance Analysis Of An M/M/1 Queue With N-Policy Interrupted Closedown Preventive Maintenance Balking And Feedback, A. Azhagappan, T. Deepa
Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)
This paper investigates the transient and stationary behavior of a M/M/1 queueing model with N-policy, interrupted closedown, balking, feedback and preventive maintenance. The server stays dormant (off state) until N customers accumulate in the queue and then starts an exhaustive service (on state). After the service, each customer may either leave the system or get immediate feedback. When the system becomes empty, the server resumes closedown. If any arrival occurs before the completion of closedown time, the closedown work of the server is interrupted and starts the busy period in an exhaustive manner. If no arrival occurs during the …

Novel Fast Algorithms For Low Rank Matrix Approximation, John T. Svadlenka
Dissertations, Theses, and Capstone Projects
Recent advances in matrix approximation have seen an emphasis on randomization techniques in which the goal was to create a sketch of an input matrix. This sketch, a random submatrix of an input matrix, having much fewer rows or columns, still preserves its relevant features. In one of such techniques random projections approximate the range of an input matrix. Dimension reduction transforms are obtained by means of multiplication of an input matrix by one or more matrices which can be orthogonal, random, and allowing fast multiplication by a vector. The Subsampled Randomized Hadamard Transform (SRHT) is the most popular among …

Cross-project defect prediction (CPDP), aiming to apply defect prediction models built on source projects to a target project, has been an active research topic. A variety of supervised CPDP methods and some simple unsupervised CPDP methods have been proposed. In a recent study, Zhou et al. found that simple unsupervised CPDP methods (i.e., ManualDown and ManualUp) have a prediction performance comparable or even superior to complex supervised CPDP methods. Therefore, they suggested that the ManualDown should be treated as the baseline when considering non-effort-aware performance measures (NPMs) and the ManualUp should be treated as the baseline when considering effort-aware performance …

Efficient sequential matching of supply and demand is a problem of interest in many online to offline services. For instance, Uber, Lyft, Grab for matching taxis to customers; Ubereats, Deliveroo, FoodPanda etc. for matching restaurants to customers. In these systems, a centralized entity (e.g., Uber) aggregates supply and assigns them to demand so as to optimize a central metric such as profit, number of requests, delay etc. However, individuals (e.g., drivers, delivery boys) in the system are self interested and they try to maximize their own long term profit. The central entity has the full view of the system and …

In software development, maintaining good design is essential. The process of refactoring enables developers to improve this design during development without altering the program’s existing behavior. However, this process can be time-consuming, introduce semantic errors, and be difficult for developers inexperienced with refactoring or unfamiliar with a given code base. Automated refactoring tools can help not only by applying these changes, but by identifying opportunities for refactoring. Yet, developers have not been quick to adopt these tools due to a lack of trust between the developer and the tool. We propose an approach in the form of a visualization to …

Quantum Random Walk Search And Grover's Algorithm - An Introduction And Neutral-Atom Approach, Anna Maria Houk
Physics
In the sub-field of quantum algorithms, physicists and computer scientist take classical computing algorithms and principles and see if there is a more efficient or faster approach implementable on a quantum computer, i.e. a ”quantum advantage”. We take random walks, a widely applicable group of classical algorithms, and move them into the quantum computing paradigm. Additionally, an introduction to a popular quantum search algorithm called Grover’s search is included to guide the reader to the development of a quantum search algorithm using quantum random walks. To close the gap between algorithm and hardware, we will look at using neutral-atom (also …
