(R2159) A Novel Extension Of Picard’S Method For Fractional Initial Value Problems With Convergence Analysis On Finite And Infinite Intervals, Jag Mohan, Anju Sood

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In recent years, fractional differential equations have emerged as powerful tools for modeling phenomena with memory and hereditary effects, owing to their non-local characteristics. These equations excel in tackling intricate problems across physics, engineering, and other fields. As analytical solutions are often infeasible, numerical methods play a vital role in their practical application. In this study, we have generalized Picard’s method to address fractional differential initial value problems with Caputo derivative, establishing an existence and uniqueness theorem applicable to both finite and infinite intervals. To substantiate our findings, we provide an example with graphical evidence demonstrating the convergence of the …

Numerical Solution Of Fuzzy Fractional Differential Equation By Haar Wavelet, Sakineh Khakrangin, Tofigh Allahviranloo, Nasser Mikaeilvand, Saeid Abbasbandy

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this paper, we deal with a wavelet operational method based on Haar wavelet to solve the fuzzy fractional differential equation in the Caputo derivative sense. To this end, we derive the Haar wavelet operational matrix of the fractional order integration. The given approach provides an efficient method to find the solution and its upper bond error. To complete the discussion, the convergence theorem is subsequently expressed in detail. So far, no paper has used the Harr wavelet method using generalized difference and fuzzy derivatives, and this is the first time we have done so. Finally, the presented examples reflect …

Generalized Bagley-Torvik Equation And Fractional Oscillators, Mark Naber, Lucas Lymburner Jun 2019

Generalized Bagley-Torvik Equation And Fractional Oscillators, Mark Naber, Lucas Lymburner

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this paper the Bagley-Torvik Equation is considered with the order of the damping term allowed to range between one and two. The solution is found to be representable as a convolution of trigonometric and exponential functions with the driving force. The properties of the effective decay rate and the oscillation frequency with respect to the order of the fractional damping are also studied. It is found that the effective decay rate and oscillation frequency have a complex dependency on the order of the derivative of the damping term and exhibit properties one might expect of a thermodynamic Equation of …

Spectral Tau-Jacobi Algorithm For Space Fractional Advection-Dispersion Problem, Amany S. Mohamed, Mahmoud M. Mokhtar Jun 2019

Spectral Tau-Jacobi Algorithm For Space Fractional Advection-Dispersion Problem, Amany S. Mohamed, Mahmoud M. Mokhtar

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this paper, we use the shifted Jacobi polynomials to approximate the solution of the space fractional advection-dispersion. The method is based on the Jacobi operational matrices of fractional derivative and integration. A double shifted Jacobi expansion is used as an approximating polynomial. We apply this method to solve linear and nonlinear term FDEs by using initial and boundary conditions.

Solution Of Fractional Drinfeld-Sokolov-Wilson Equation Using Homotopy Perturbation Transform Method, P. K. Singh, K. Vishal, T. Som

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this article, the approximate solutions of the non-linear Drinfeld-Sokolov-Wilson equation with fractional time derivative have been obtained. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. He’s polynomial is used to tackle the nonlinearity which arise in our considered problems. A time fractional nonlinear partial differential equation has been computed numerically. The numerical procedures illustrate the effectiveness and reliability of the method. Effects of fractional order time derivatives on the solutions for different particular cases are presented through graphs.

An Approximate Solution Of The Mathieu Fractional Equation By Using The Generalized Differential Transform Method (Gdtm), H. S. Najafi, S. R. Mirshafaei, E. A. Toroqi

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

The generalized differential transform method (GDTM) is a powerful tool for solving fractional equations. In this paper we solve the Mathieu fractional equation by this method. The approximate solutions obtained are compared with the exact solution. We also show that if both differential orders decrease, we can still have an approximate solution in the different interval of p.

Approximate Approach To The Das Model Of Fractional Logistic Population Growth, S. Das, P. K. Gupta, K. Vishal

Applications and Applied Mathematics: An International Journal (AAM)

In this article, the analytical method, Homotopy perturbation method (HPM) has been successfully implemented for solving nonlinear logistic model of fractional order. The fractional derivatives are described in the Caputo sense. Using initial value, the explicit solutions of population size for different particular cases have been derived. Numerical results show that the method is extremely efficient to solve this complicated biological model.
