This paper explores the computational ability of ``distributed ghost" cellular automata (CA) \cite{10.1162/artl_e_00450} after introducing independence in the updating scheme. Traditionally, the CA system dictates all cells to update together following the concept of the global clock. To introduce independence in the system, CA researchers have introduced the notion of fully asynchronous updating scheme with atomicity property where, again, the CA system dictates two neighbouring cells not to update together. This academic research examines the relationship between job engagement, green work climate, job-related anxiety, meaningfulness at work within the organization. It draws attention to identify the significant relations among all these factors and highlights the role of a green work climate in promoting meaningful work and alleviating job-related anxiety. The research emphasizes a diverse sample of employees from various organisations using structural modelling to find the mediating roles of job engagement and work meaningfulness in the correlation between organizational practices, environmental sustainability, and employee satisfaction. Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction serves as an example of the nonlinear chemical oscillator in which the reacting substance undergoes sequential oxidation and reduction. A droplet containing the BZ reaction, when placed within the oily environment, can self-propel. In this experimental work, we explore the effect of oil medium density on the BZ reaction droplet dynamics. In an oil medium with lower density, the BZ droplet exhibits higher speed and effective diffusivity but a shorter lifetime. Both the distance and speed of the droplet initially increase with droplet volume. However, beyond a critical volume, the distance decreases while the speed stays constant. Interestingly, …

In the field of robotics, precise motion control and accurate computation of joint forces are critical for ensuring optimal performance. Traditional methods, such as using the Jacobian matrix for joint angle determination and Euler-Lagrange equations for torque computation, are reliable but computationally intensive, making them less suitable for real-time applications. This paper presents an advanced approach to improving the productivity and efficiency of a 3-Degree of Freedom (DOF) robotic arm by utilizing Artificial Neural Network (ANN). By contrasting Lévy flight and random walk strategies in simulated agents, we discern the effect of movement behavior on the total duration of social interactions. Our agent-based simulation results approximate empirically observed Dunbar social circle formation using simple behavioral rules of interaction and compatibility to mimic exogenous attribute-based friendship formation. We simulate the complexities of social interactions among agents with unique attributes and a time budget for social engagement over a one-year period. We study the initial value problem for the Kadomtsev--Petviashvili I (KP I) equation (ut + 6uux + uxxx)x = 3uyy with small initial data belonging to a subspace of the energy space for the KP I equation. We establish the long-time asymptotics for solutions of the KP I equation using the inverse scattering transform formalism developed by Zhou. Within this framework, the inverse problem for the KP I equation is formulated as a nonlocal Riemann--Hilbert problem (RHP) in two spatial dimensions. The Australian plague locust (Chortoicetes terminifera) is an agricultural and ecological pest that causes tens of millions of dollars in crop damage each year. In this thesis, we develop mathematical models of hopper bands, dense formations of juvenile locusts that move across a vegetated field and destroy plants in their path. We develop agent-based and PDE models of hopper bands moving through vegetation to examine how recently discovered behavior where locusts slow down to avoid collisions with other locusts may influence the shape, speed, and destructiveness of hopper bands. Regular heart rhythms are governed by the coordinated spread of action potentials through cardiac tissue. The interaction of an action potential with a tissue heterogeneity may lead to a reflection, where both a retrograde and an anterograde wave propagate off of the initial impulse. Reflections have been experimentally linked to cardiac arrhythmias, but their mechanisms of generation are not well-understood. Mathematically, reflections in phenomenological models of cardiac tissue have been linked to an unstable periodic orbit. This thesis presents a force-based mathematical model for simulating dynamic falls in lead sport climbing, with an emphasis on physical realism and empirical validation. The system is modeled as a mass–spring–damper, incorporating gravity, nonlinear rope stiffness, internal damping, and Capstan-style friction at protection points. The goal is to predict peak forces and rope elongation while capturing the complex dynamics of real climbing ropes. Several novel features are introduced. Activation switches ensure forces only engage when the rope is tensioned, preventing premature response. On the surface of the Greenland ice sheet or around the margins of the Antarctic ice shelf, water infiltrates porous ice. It is important to understand this infiltration process since water populating the pore space of ice directly impacts the density, porosity, and wetness of ice. This study investigates the competitive dynamics of airport pricing using U.S. airport data to validate the findings. It employs linear and nonlinear ordinary differential equation models to analyze the influence of competitive interactions and internal factors on pricing decisions. The methodology involves parameter estimation via optimization techniques and quantile regression to capture heterogeneity across market segments. Mathematical analysis and simulation results show that if competitive coupling coefficients are low then there is weak competitive influence on pricing, with airports’ pricing largely driven by internal factors. Cell-like model chemical systems are powerful tools that can be used to explore the role of intercellular coupling on population level behaviors in communities of biological cells. Firstly, we present a new method for fabricating such micro-reactors using the photosensitive Belousov–Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction system employed in silica microparticles. This study investigates the dynamics of mutualistic relationships between two prey species in the presence of a predator, by taking into account herding in one species along with the influence of carrying capacities between two prey species. These mutualistic dynamics are presented by constructing two mathematical models, namely an indirect and direct mutualism model. As the strength of the symbiotic relationship increases the indirect model goes through transcritical bifurcation to Hopf bifurcation whereas in the direct mutualism model goes through saddle-node bifurcation to Hopf bifurcation.
