Colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM) poses a significant challenge in oncology due to its high incidence and poor prognosis in unresectable cases. Current treatments, including surgical resection, systemic chemotherapy, and liver-directed therapies, often fail to effectively target hypoxic tumor regions, which are inherently more resistant to these interventions. This review examines the potential of a novel therapeutic strategy combining irreversible electroporation (IRE) ablation and Clostridium novyi-nontoxic (C. novyi-NT) bacterial therapy. IRE is a non-thermal tumor ablation technique that uses high-voltage electric pulses to create permanent nanopores in cell membranes, leading to cell death while preserving surrounding structures, and …

Multi-agent systems (MAS) possess significant potential for modeling real-world scenarios requiring coordinated actions (like wildfire fighting or ridesharing) among autonomous entities or agents (e.g., wildfire fighting agents) in complex, dynamic environments. Abstract: With the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence and computing technologies, simulation technologies have leapfrogged, propelling the discipline of simulation toward greater maturity. Research progress in computer simulation technologies both in China and abroad was reviewed, and the definition and connotation of simulation were clarified. It was proposed that the Chinese terms "仿真" "仿效"and " 模拟" be unified under a single term " 仿真" with corresponding "Simulation" "Emulation" and "Analog" in English translated uniformly as "Simulation". Arbitration agreements are everywhere in the United States. These agreements already block access to courts in a troubling manner, and pursuant to these agreements, parties must resolve their disputes before a private, human arbitrator with broad, virtually unreviewable powers. However, with the growth of AI, companies could easily redraft their contracts to require arbitration before non-human bots or AI arbitrators instead of a human arbitrator. The growing prevalence of AI chatbots in everyday life has prompted educators to explore their potential applications in promoting student success, including support for classroom engagement and communication. This exploratory study emerged from semester-long observations of class participation apprehensions in an introductory educational psychology course, examining how chatbots might scaffold students toward active and independent classroom contribution. Four students experiencing situational participation anxiety voluntarily participated in a pilot intervention using AI chatbots as virtual peer partners. The choice of artificial intelligence (AI) software for cybersecurity testing is a multi-criteria decision-making approach (MCDM) due to it including different criteria. Evaluation decision making problems include uncertainty and vague information. So, the neutrosophic set is used in this study to overcome this uncertainty and vague information. Atmospheric turbulence presents a significant barrier to long-range facial recognition, introducing severe geometric distortions and blur that degrade image quality. This thesis investigates deep learning approaches for mitigating these effects, with a focus on transformer based architectures and domain adaptation strategies.
An in-depth benchmarking study was performed using convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and vision transformers (ViTs) on the Husker BRIAR Research Collection from up to 500m (HBRC-500) face dataset. This dissertation introduces process-grounded knowledge-infused learning and reasoning, a novel framework for integrating domain-expertise-based process knowledge into the learning and reasoning mechanisms of artificial intelligence systems. This approach is designed to produce controlled, transparent, and reliable predictions in critical tasks such as medical diagnosis and recommendation. Objective: Does a Tree-of-Thought prompt and reconsideration of Isabel Pro's differential improve ChatGPT-4's accuracy; does increasing expert panel size improve ChatGPT-4's accuracy; does ChatGPT-4 produce consistent outputs in sequential requests; what is the frequency of fabricated references?
Materials and methods: Isabel Pro, a computerized diagnostic decision support system, and ChatGPT-4, a large language model. Using 201 cases from the New England Journal of Medicine, each system produced a differential diagnosis ranked by likelihood. This article synthesizes past archaeological research on the submerged Egyptian city of Thonis-Heracleion, critically reviewing excavations and technological interventions deployed since its rediscovery by Franck Goddio and the IEASM team. Situated approximately 10 meters beneath Aboukir Bay near Alexandria, the city represents a significant nexus of Greek and Egyptian cultural heritage, vividly documented in classical sources such as Herodotus and Strabo. Prior excavations have recovered temple complexes, colossal statues, ritual artifacts, and an extensive array of ancient shipwrecks, mapping only a fraction of the extensive site. The 2025 Fiscal Year National Defense Authorization Act contains multiple provisions relating to artificial intelligence (AI). These congressionally mandated provisions direct various sections of the Department of Defense (DOD) and individual U.S. armed service branches to execute congressional intent for AI policymaking. Examples of such intent include identifying and planning DOD's AI workforce, demonstrating AI biotechnology applications for national security, improving the human usability of AI systems, and establishing an AI security center. Writing well requires not only expressing ideas but also refining them through revision, a process facilitated by reflection. Prior research suggests that feedback delivered through dialogues, such as those in writing center tutoring sessions, can help writers reflect more thoughtfully on their work compared to static feedback. Recent advancements in multi-modal large language models (LLMs) now offer new possibilities for supporting interactive and expressive voice-based reflection in writing. In particular, we propose that LLM-generated static feedback can be repurposed as conversation starters, allowing writers to seek clarification, request examples, and ask follow-up questions, thereby fostering deeper reflection on their writing. …

This paper explores interaction designs for gen-
erative AI interfaces that necessitate human in-
volvement throughout the generation process.
We argue that such interfaces can promote
cognitive engagement, agency, and thoughtful
decision-making. Through a case study in text
revision, we present and analyze two interac-
tion techniques: (1) using a predictive-text in-
teraction to type the assistant’s response to a
revision request, and (2) highlighting potential
edit opportunities in a document. Our imple-

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing the way we think about user experience (UX) design. This thesis explores how AI could impact the roles, skills, and design processes of UX professionals over the next five years. BACKGROUND: Childhood asthma often continues into adulthood, but some children experience remission. Utilizing electronic health records (EHRs) to predict asthma prognosis can aid health care providers and patients in developing effective prioritized care plans.

This study investigates the cognitive and therapeutic potential of immersive virtual reality (VR) environments designed to simulate cold conditions. Through the engagement of participants through multisensory stimuli—including vivid visual representations of the Athabasca Glacier, auditory effects of icy winds, and corresponding haptic feedback—the research evaluates neurological and physiological responses associated with attention, emotional regulation, and stress modulation. Participants experienced virtual scenarios featuring icy winds and snow, activating specific neurological pathways involving the occipital lobe, primary visual cortex, superior colliculus, and insula, thus reinforcing sensory integration. The 1785 Salon Unreal Engine Reconstruction Project represents a significant advance in digital heritage and immersive art historical research by combining generative AI-based asset creation, modular user experience (UX) design, and historically informed workflows. During the Spring 2025 phase, the project achieved major milestones, including the successful development of a replicable pipeline for transforming 2D reference images into period-accurate 3D sculpture models using generative AI and digital sculpting tools. Gender bias is prevalent in personality disorder assessments, and while artificial intelligence has been posited as a solution to improve diagnostic objectivity and accuracy, the potential for such technologies to propagate human gender bias in mental health contexts remains underexplored. This study investigated the influences of gender bias on the diagnostic performance of ChatGPT-4o for personality disorders using three factorial research designs, which involved experimentally manipulating patient gender in a combined sample of 360 vignettes and case studies. This work explores the application of Transformer models to robotic skill learning, aiming to enhance generalization across various physical tasks and environments with continuous control. Despite their success in other domains, our experiments reveal that the utility of Transformers in robotics heavily depends on pretraining strategies. Specifically, Transformers pretrained on reinforcement learning tasks generalized effectively, while those trained with task-agnostic masking strategies did not. These findings challenge assumptions about the universality of Transformer-based methods and underscore the importance of domain-aligned pretraining for developing versatile robotic agents.
