The pollution history of aluminum (Al), chromium (Cr), cobalt (Co), lead (Pb), zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), and mercury (Hg) were evaluated using geochemical and sedimentological properties of two sediment cores. The MD22A contained a mass-flow unit and two coccolith units. The upper coccolith was characterized by high organic matter, but it was relatively depleted in terms of all studied elements, suggesting dilution by high inorganic carbon. In the mass-flow unit, the relatively high Cr, Co, Zn, and Hg levels suggested additional contamination sources from the Kocadere Stream and Kocasu River. The ranges of Al, Cr, Co, Cu, Hg, Pb, and …

Cnn Based Sensor Fusion Method For Real-Time Autonomous Robotics Systems, Berat Yildiz, Aki̇f Durdu, Ahmet Kayabaşi, Mehmet Duramaz
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
Autonomous robotic systems (ARS) serve in many areas of daily life. The sensors have critical importance for these systems. The sensor data obtained from the environment should be as accurate and reliable as possible and correctly interpreted by the autonomous robot. Since sensors have advantages and disadvantages over each other they should be used together to reduce errors. In this study, Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based sensor fusion was applied to ARS to contribute the autonomous driving. In a real-time application, a camera and LIDAR sensor were tested with these networks. The novelty of this work is that the uniquely …

Motion-Aware Vehicle Detection In Driving Videos, Mehmet Kiliçarslan, Tansu Temel
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
This paper focuses on vehicle detection based on motion features in driving videos. Long-term motion information can assist in driving scenarios since driving is a complicated and dynamic process. The proposed method is a deep learning based model which processes motion frame image. This image merges both spatial (frame) and temporal (motion) information. Hence, the model jointly detects vehicles and their motion from a single image. The trained model on Toyota Motor Europe Motorway Dataset reaches 83% mean average precision (mAP). Our experiments demonstrate that the proposed method has a higher mAP than a tracking-based model. The proposed method runs …

In Turkey, Turkish Personal Data Protection Rule (PDPR) No. 6698, in force since 2016, provides protection to citizens for the legal existence of their personal data. Although the law provides excellent guidance, companies currently face challenges in complying with its regulations in terms of storing, sharing, or monitoring personal data. Since any specially designed software with wide industrial usage is not on the market, almost all of the companies have no other choice but to take expensive and error-prone operations manually to ensure their compliance. In this paper, we present an automated solution to facilitate and accelerate PDPR compliance. In …

Temporal Bagging: A New Method For Time-Based Ensemble Learning, Göksu Tüysüzoğlu, Derya Bi̇rant, Volkan Kiranoğlu
Turkish Journal of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
One of the main problems associated with the bagging technique in ensemble learning is its random sample selection in which all samples are treated with the same chance of being selected. However, in time-varying dynamic systems, the samples in the training set have not equal importance, where the recent samples contain more useful and accurate information than the former ones. To overcome this problem, this paper proposes a new time-based ensemble learning method, called temporal bagging (T-Bagging). The significant advantage of our method is that it assigns larger weights to more recent samples with respect to older ones, so it …

Recently, modern people have excessive stress in their daily lives. With the advances in physiological sensors and wearable technology, people?s physiological status can be tracked, and stress levels can be recognized for providing beneficial services. Smartwatches and smartbands constitute the majority of wearable devices. Although they have an excellent potential for physiological stress recognition, some crucial issues need to be addressed, such as the resemblance of physiological reaction to stress and physical activity, artifacts caused by movements and low data quality. This paper focused on examining and differentiating physiological responses to both stressors and physical activity. Physiological data are collected …

Turkish Journal of Chemistry
In this study poly (4-nitrophenylazo-3-aminopyridine - formaldehyde) (PNAAP-F) and poly (4-nitroarylazo-3-chloro-6-hydroxypyridine - formaldehyde) (NAACHP-F) were synthesized via diazotization, coupling and polycondensation reactions. The structural properties of the as-synthesized dyes were acquired using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and UV-visible absorption maxima and their color, yield, melting point, solubility, and viscosity were determined via standard methods. UV-visible and FTIR results show successful formation of the polymeric dyes due to shift of wavelength of maximum absorption (λmax) (440-490 nm, 480-540 nm) and new absorption peak at around (2780-2995 cm-1) for methylene bridge respectively. The dyes were found to be …

On Some Fractional Operators Generated From Abel's Formula, Eki̇n Uğurlu
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
This work aims to share some fractional integrals and derivatives containing three real parameters. The main tool to introduce such operators is the corresponding Abel's equation. Solvability conditions for the Abel's equations are shared. Semigroup properties for fractional integrals are introduced. Integration by parts rule is given. Moreover, mean value theorems and related results are shared. At the end of the paper, some directions for some fractional operators are given.

Compact Matrix Operators On Banach Space Of Absolutely $K$-Summable Series, Fadi̇me Gökçe
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In a more recent paper [23], Banach spaces of absolutely $k$-summable series $\left\vert T_{\phi }\right\vert _{k}$ have been introduced and studied by Sarıgöl and Agarwal. In this paper, we characterize matrix and compact operators from the space $\left\vert T_{\phi }\right\vert _{k}$ to the classical spaces $c_{0},c$ and $l_{\infty },$ by determining identities or estimates for operator norms and the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness.
The Integer-Antimagic Spectra Of A Disjoint Union Of Hamiltonian Graphs, Uğur Odabaşi, Dan Roberts, Richard M. Low
The Integer-Antimagic Spectra Of A Disjoint Union Of Hamiltonian Graphs, Uğur Odabaşi, Dan Roberts, Richard M. Low
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Let $A$ be a nontrivial abelian group. A simple graph $G = (V, E)$ is $A$-antimagic, if there exists an edge labeling $f: E(G) \to A \backslash \{0\}$ such that the induced vertex labeling $f^+(v)=\sum_{uv\in E(G)} f(uv)$ is a one-to-one map. The {integer-antimagic spectrum} of a graph $G$ is the set IAM$(G) = \{k: G {is} \mathbb{Z}_k{-antimagic and } k \geq 2\}$. In this paper, we determine the integer-antimagic spectra for a disjoint union of Hamiltonian graphs.

Li-Yorke Chaos And Topological Distributional Chaos In A Sequence, Naveenkumar Yadav, Sejal Shah
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
We study here the topological notion of Li-Yorke chaos defined for uniformly continuous self-maps defined on uniform Hausdorff spaces, which are not necessarily compact metrizable. We prove that a weakly mixing uniformly continuous self-map defined on a second countable Baire uniform Hausdorff space without isolated points is Li-Yorke chaotic. Further, we define and study the notion of topological distributional chaos in a sequence for uniformly continuous self-maps defined on uniform Hausdorff spaces. We prove that Li-Yorke chaos is equivalent to topological distributional chaos in a sequence for uniformly continuous self-maps defined on second countable Baire uniform Hausdorff space without isolated …

Numerical Simulations Of Traveling Waves In A Counterflow Filtration Combustion Model, Fati̇h Özbağ
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
We focused on traveling combustion waves that appear in a simplified, one-dimensional combustion model in porous media. The system we consider is a reaction-convection-diffusion system that can be reduced into two-dimension in order to prove traveling waves by phase plane analysis. In previous studies combustion wave velocity was assumed positive and their existence was proven. Also, all possible wave sequences that solve boundary value problems on infinite intervals with constant boundary data were identified. In this study, we generalize the previous work by including the case of negative combustion wave speed and taking the assumption that oxygen is carried faster …
$\Mathbb{Z}$-Graded Identities On The Infinite-Dimensional Grassmann Algebra And Arithmetic Tools: Revisited, Claudemir Fidelis
$\Mathbb{Z}$-Graded Identities On The Infinite-Dimensional Grassmann Algebra And Arithmetic Tools: Revisited, Claudemir Fidelis
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
The main purpose of this paper is to provide a survey of results concerning the $\mathbb{Z}$-gradings on the infinite-dimensional Grassmann algebra $E$ over a field of characteristic zero. First, we provide graded identities and central polynomials for $E$ equipped with fine gradings on $E$ by the semigroup $(\mathbb{Z}^\ast,\times)$. We also describe briefly techniques in order to illustrate some important methods to exhibit graded identities and central polynomials of $E$ for other abelian groups. In particular, over a field of characteristic zero, so-called $2$-induced gradings of full support were considered. In order to obtain these descriptions, we strongly use elementary number …

A New Kind Of $F$-Contraction And Some Best Proximity Point Results For Such Mappings With An Application, Hakan Şahi̇n
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, we aim to present a new and unified way, including the previously mentioned solution methods, to overcome the problem in [7] for closed and bounded valued $F$-contraction mappings. We also want to obtain a real generalization of fixed point results existing in the literature by using best proximity point theory. Further, considering the strong relationship between homotopy theory and various branches of mathematics such as category theory, topological spaces, and Hamiltonian manifolds in quantum mechanics, our objective is to present an application to homotopy theory of our best proximity point results obtained in the paper. In this …

On The Geometry Of Lift Metrics And Lift Connections On The Tangent Bundle, Esmaeil Peyghan, Davood Seifipour, Adara Blaga
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
We study lift metrics and lift connections on the tangent bundle $TM$ of a Riemannian manifold $(M,g)$. We also investigate the statistical and Codazzi couples of $TM$ and their consequences on the geometry of $M$. Finally, we prove a result on $1$-Stein and Osserman structures on $TM$, whenever $TM$ is equipped with the complete lift connection.

Approximation By Sampling Kantorovich Series In Weighted Spaces Of Functions, Tuncer Acar, Osman Alagöz, Ali̇ Aral, Dani̇lo Costarelli̇, Meti̇n Turgay, Gianluca Vinti
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
This paper studies the convergence of the so-called sampling Kantorovich operators for functions belonging to weighted spaces of continuous functions. This setting allows us to establish uniform convergence results for functions that are not necessarily uniformly continuous and bounded on $\mathbb{R}$. In that context we also prove quantitative estimates for the rate of convergence of the family of the above operators in terms of weighted modulus of continuity. Finally, pointwise convergence results in quantitative form by means of Voronovskaja type theorems have been also established.

Notes On The Quadraticity Of Linear Combinations Of A Cubic Matrix And A Quadratic Matrix That Commute, Tuğba Peti̇k, Hali̇m Özdemi̇r, Burak Tufan Gökmen
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Let $A_{1}$ and $A_{2}$ be an $\{\alpha_{1}, \beta_{1}, \gamma_{1}\}$-cubic matrix and an $\{\alpha_{2}, \beta_{2}\}$-quadratic matrix, respectively, with $\alpha_{1} \neq \beta_{1}$, $\beta_{1} \neq \gamma_{1}$, $\alpha_{1} \neq \gamma_{1}$ and $\alpha_{2}\neq \beta_{2}$. In this work, we characterize all situations in which the linear combination $A_{3}=a_{1}A_{1}+a_{2}A_{2}$ with the assumption $A_{1}A_{2}=A_{2}A_{1}$ is an $\{\alpha_{3}, \beta_{3}\}$-quadratic matrix, where $a_{1}$ and $a_{2}$ are unknown nonzero complex numbers.

A Köthe-Toeplitz Dual Of A Generalized Cesaro Difference Sequence Space, A Degenerate Lorentz Space, Their Corresponding Function Spaces And Fpp, Veysel Nezi̇r, Ni̇zami̇ Mustafa
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In 1970, Cesaro sequence spaces was introduced by Shiue. In 1981, Kızmaz defined difference sequence spaces for ${\ell }^{\infty }$, ${\mathrm{c}}_0$ and $\mathrm{c}$. Then, in 1983, Orhan introduced Cesaro difference sequence spaces. Both works used difference operator and investigated the Köthe-Toeplitz dual for the new Banach spaces they introduced. Later, various authors generalized these new spaces, especially the one introduced by Orhan. In this study, first we discuss the fixed point property for these spaces and for the corresponding function space of the Köthe-Toeplitz dual. Moreover, we consider another generalized space which is a degenerate Lorentz space because the spaces …

Necessary Conditions For Extended Spectral Decomposable Multivalued Linear Operators, Yosra Barkaoui, Maher Mnif
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
In this paper, we use subsets of the Riemann sphere and specific types of invariant linear subspaces to introduce the extended spectral decomposable multivalued linear operators (linear relations) in Banach spaces. We also introduce the extended Bishop's property, the extended relatively single-valued extension property and the extended Dunford's property. More importantly, we show that these properties are three necessary conditions for a linear relation to be extended spectral decomposable.

Efficient Nyberg-Rueppel Type Of Ntru Digital Signature Algorithm, Ferdi̇ Elverdi̇, Sedat Akleylek, Bariş Bülent Kirlar
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
Message recovery is an important property in Nyberg-Rueppel type digital signature algorithms. However, the security of Nyberg-Rueppel type digital signature algorithms depends on the hard problems which might be vulnerable to quantum attacks. Therefore, quantum resistant Nyberg-Rueppel type digital signature algorithms with message recovery property are needed. Since NTRU-based cryptosystems are one of the best studied quantum-resistant schemes, using traditional NTRU encryption scheme has several advantages on the message recovery property. In this paper, we define Nyberg-Rueppel type of NTRU digital signature algorithm. It is carried out by combining NTRU-based encryption and signature algorithms. In the proposed scheme, efficient message …
Continuation Value Computation Using Malliavin Calculus Under General Volatility Stochastic Process For American Option Pricing, Mohamed Kharrat, Fabian Bastin
Continuation Value Computation Using Malliavin Calculus Under General Volatility Stochastic Process For American Option Pricing, Mohamed Kharrat, Fabian Bastin
Turkish Journal of Mathematics
American options represent an important financial instrument but are notoriously difficult to price, especially when the volatility is not constant. We explore the conditions required to apply Malliavin calculus to price American options when the volatility follows a general stochastic differential process, and develop the expressions to compute the continuation value at any time before the expiration date, given the current asset price and volatility. The developed methodology can then be applied to price American options.
