On Graded Primary Ideals, Mashhoor Refai, Khaldoun Al-Zoubi

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Let G be a group and R be a G-graded commutative ring, i.e., R = \oplus_{g \in G} R_g and R_gR_h \subseteq R_{gh} for all g, h \in G. In this paper, we study the graded primary ideals and graded primary G-decomposition of a graded ideal.

Determination Of A Fractional-Linear Pencil Of Sturm-Liouville Operators By Two Of Its Spectra, R. T. Pashayev Jan 2004

Determination Of A Fractional-Linear Pencil Of Sturm-Liouville Operators By Two Of Its Spectra, R. T. Pashayev

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In this paper we consider the Sturm-Liouville equations on a finite interval which is fractional-linear in the spectral parameter. The inverse spectral problem consisting of the recovering of the operator from the two spectra is investigated and a uniqueness theorem for solution of the inverse problem is proved.

Perelman's Monotonicity Formula And Applications, Natasa Sesum Jan 2004

Perelman's Monotonicity Formula And Applications, Natasa Sesum

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

This article relies on [15] that the author wrote with Gang Tian and Xiaodong Wang. In view of Hamilton's important work on the Ricci flow and Perelman's paper on the Ricci flow where he developes the techniques that he will later use in completing Hamilton's program for the geometrization conjecture, there may be more interest in the area. We will also discuss the author's theorem which says that the curvature tensor stays uniformly bounded under the unnormalized Ricci flow in a finite time, if the curvatures are uniformly bounded. We will prove that in the case of a Kähler-Ricci flow …

Flops Of Crepant Resolutions, Anda Degeratu Jan 2004

Flops Of Crepant Resolutions, Anda Degeratu

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Let G be a finite subgroup of SL(3, \mathcal{C}) acting with an isolated singularity on \mathcal{C}^3. A crepant resolution of \mathcal{C}^3/G comes together with a set of tautological line bundles associated to each irreducible representation of G. In this note we give a formula for the triple product of the first Chern class of the tautological bundles in terms of both the geometry of the crepant resolution and the representation theory of G. From here we derive the way these triple products change when we perform a flop.

The Cross Curvature Flow Of 3-Manifolds With Negative Sectional Curvature, Bennett Chow, Richard S. Hamilton Jan 2004

The Cross Curvature Flow Of 3-Manifolds With Negative Sectional Curvature, Bennett Chow, Richard S. Hamilton

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

We consider the cross curvature flow, an evolution equation of metrics on 3-manifolds. We establish short time existence when the sectional curvature has a sign. In the case of negative sectional curvature, we obtain some monotonicity formulas which support the conjecture that after normalization, for initial metrics on closed 3-manifolds with negative sectional curvature, the solution exists for all time and converges to a hyperbolic metric. This conjecture is still open at the present time.

Surgery Diagrams For Contact 3-Manifolds, Fan Ding, Hansjörg Geiges, Andras I. Stipsicz Jan 2004

Surgery Diagrams For Contact 3-Manifolds, Fan Ding, Hansjörg Geiges, Andras I. Stipsicz

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

In two previous papers, the two first-named authors introduced a notion of contact r-surgery along Legendrian knots in contact 3-manifolds. They also showed how (at least in principle) to convert any contact r-surgery into a sequence of contact (\pm 1)-surgeries, and used this to prove that any (closed) contact 3-manifold can be obtained from the standard contact structure on S^3 by a sequence of such contact (\pm 1)-surgeries. In the present paper, we give a shorter proof of that result and a more explicit algorithm for turning a contact r-surgery into (\pm 1)-surgeries. We use this to give explicit surgery …

Quasipositivity Problem For 3-Braids, Stepan Yu. Orevkov Jan 2004

Quasipositivity Problem For 3-Braids, Stepan Yu. Orevkov

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

A braid is called quasipositive if it is a product of conjugates of standard generators of the braid group. We present an algorithm deciding if a given braid with three strings is quasipositive or not. The complexity (the time of work) of our algorithm is O(n^{k+1}) where n is the length of the word in standard generators representing the braid and k is the algebraic length of the braid. The algorithm is based on the Garside normal form. The problem of quasipositivity in braid groups is motivated by the topology of plane real algebraic curves (16th Hilbert's problem). In particular, …

Solution Of The Word Problem In The Singular Braid Group, Stepan Yu. Orevkov Jan 2004

Solution Of The Word Problem In The Singular Braid Group, Stepan Yu. Orevkov

Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Singular braids are isotopy classes of smooth strings which are allowed to cross each other pairwise with distinct tangents. Under the usual multiplication of braids, they form a monoid. The singular braid group was introduced by Fenn-Keyman-Rourke as the quotient group of the singular braid monoid. We give a solution of the word problem for this group. It is obtained as a combination of the results by Fenn-Keyman-Rourke and some simple geometric considerations based on the mapping class interpretation of braids. Combined with Corran's normal form for the singular braid monoid, our algorithm provides a computable normal form for the …

Areal Distribution And Bulk Rock Density Variations Of The Welded İncesu Ignimbrite, Central Anatolia, Turkey, Ulrike Mues-Schumcher, Rolf Schumacher, Lothar Georg Viereck-Götte, Petra Lepetit Jan 2004

Areal Distribution And Bulk Rock Density Variations Of The Welded İncesu Ignimbrite, Central Anatolia, Turkey, Ulrike Mues-Schumcher, Rolf Schumacher, Lothar Georg Viereck-Götte, Petra Lepetit

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

The 2.8 Ma İncesu ignimbrite is one of the most densely welded ignimbrites of the Cappadocian Volcanic Province. Estimates of areal extent and volume reveal at least 7,760 km^2 and 38 km^3 of erupted magma. The source area can be located beneath the northeastern flanks of the Erciyes Dağ-Koçdağ stratovolcano. Today, the ignimbrite typically forms relatively small plateaus or isolated remnants and caps on hill tops. Field characteristics of the deposit include a local dark-brown or black basal vitrophyre and horizontally zoned changes in colour which correspond to changes in modal composition. Upwardly increasing amounts of lithic fragments and pumice …

Field, Petrographic And Geochemical Characteristics Of The Hamit Alkaline Intrusion In The Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex, Turkey, Nurdane İlbeyli̇

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

The Hamit pluton is one of the alkaline intrusions in the Central Anatolian Crystalline Complex (CACC). The pluton consists of nepheline syenite, pseudoleucite syenite, alkali-feldspar syenite and quartz syenite. The nepheline syenite and pseudoleucite syenite are cut by foid-bearing microsyenitic dykes, whereas the alkali-feldspar syenite and quartz syenite are cut by aplitic and silicic dykes. The predominantly peralkaline Hamit intrusive rocks possess field, petrographic and geochemical characteristics comparable to A-type granites. All intrusive rocks of this pluton show enrichment in LILE and LREE relative to HFSE. The Th/Yb versus Ta/Yb plot suggests that the intrusive rocks formed from an enriched …

Magma Interaction Recorded In Plagioclase Zoning In Granitoid Systems, Zigana Granitoid, Eastern Pontides, Turkey, Orhan Karsli, Faruk Aydin, M. Burhan Sadiklar Jan 2004

Magma Interaction Recorded In Plagioclase Zoning In Granitoid Systems, Zigana Granitoid, Eastern Pontides, Turkey, Orhan Karsli, Faruk Aydin, M. Burhan Sadiklar

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Plagioclase crystals characterized by compositional zoning are typical of the Zigana Granitoid (ZG), NE Turkey. The zoned crystals, which show textural equilibrium with the assemblage quartz + plagioclase + K-feldspar + hornblende + biotite + pyroxene + magnetite + ilmenite, exhibit oscillatory zoning. The zoned plagioclase crystals, ranging in size from 3 to 6 mm, are oval and larger than normal lath-shaped crystals. The zoned crystals are divided petrographically into two main types: (i) crystals zones only at their rims, with spongy cores; and (ii) completely zoned ones. Composition of the zoned crystals ranges from An_{23} (oligoclase) to An_{70} (labradorite). …

The Karakaya Complex: A Review Of Data And Concepts, Aral İ. Okay, M. Cemal Göncüoğlu Jan 2004

The Karakaya Complex: A Review Of Data And Concepts, Aral İ. Okay, M. Cemal Göncüoğlu

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

The Karakaya Complex in the Pontides consists of highly deformed and partly metamorphosed clastic and volcanic series of Permian and Triassic age. It is generally subdivided into two parts: The structurally lower part, called the Lower Karakaya Complex, consists of a mafic lava-mafic pyroclastite-shale-limestone succession metamorphosed in the greenschist and blueschist facies during the Late Palaeozoic or Triassic. The structurally upper part is made up of highly deformed Permian and Triassic clastic, volcaniclastic and volcanic rocks with exotic limestone blocks. There are currently two different models for the depositional setting and tectonic evolution of the Karakaya Complex. The rift model …

Significance Of The Volcanogenic Nilüfer Unit And Related Components Of The Triassic Karakaya Complex For Tethyan Subduction/Accretion Processes In Nw Turkey, Elizabeth A. Pickett, Alastair H. F. Robertson Jan 2004

Significance Of The Volcanogenic Nilüfer Unit And Related Components Of The Triassic Karakaya Complex For Tethyan Subduction/Accretion Processes In Nw Turkey, Elizabeth A. Pickett, Alastair H. F. Robertson

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

The Tethyan Karakaya Complex extends east-west across northern Turkey from the Aegean coast to Iran (c. 1100 km), and is interpreted as a Mid-Late Triassic subduction/accretion complex. It comprises strongly deformed fragments of Triassic oceanic seamounts, mid-ocean ridge-type oceanic crust, trench-type sedimentary rocks (Ortaoba Unit) and Permian-Triassic continental fragments (Çal Unit). We focus on the Triassic Nilüfer Unit, which comprises altered basic volcanic and volcaniclastic rocks, volcanogenic sedimentary rocks, heterogeneous debris flow deposits, calciturbidites, siliceous pelagic sedimentary rocks and, in places, Triassic shallow-water limestones. The predominant lithologies are massive basalt and reworked basic pyroclastic deposits. Additional detrital lithologies include volcanogenic …

New Results On The Lithostratigraphy Of The Kazdağ Massif In Northwest Turkey, Mehmet Duru, Şükrü Pehli̇van, Yalçin Şentürk, Fatma Yavaş, Hüseyi̇n Kar Jan 2004

New Results On The Lithostratigraphy Of The Kazdağ Massif In Northwest Turkey, Mehmet Duru, Şükrü Pehli̇van, Yalçin Şentürk, Fatma Yavaş, Hüseyi̇n Kar

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

The high-grade metamorphic rocks of the Kazdağ mountain range, termed the Kazdağ Group, crop out as a tectonic window under the Karakaya Complex in northwestern Turkey. The Kazdağ Group forms a doubly plunging, NE-SW-trending anticliniorium. During our regional geological mapping of the Kazdağ Group, we have subdivided the metamorphic rocks into four formations. The lowermost unit is the Fındıklı formation, which comprises amphibole-gneiss, marble and minor amphibolite. It crops out mainly in the southern part of the Kazdağ Massif. The marble horizons within the Fındıklı formation have been named the Altınoluk and Babadağ marble members. The overlying unit, comprising metadunite …

Geology And Correlation Of The Ezine Zone: A Rhodope Fragment In Nw Turkey?, Laurent Beccaletto, Catherine Jenny Jan 2004

Geology And Correlation Of The Ezine Zone: A Rhodope Fragment In Nw Turkey?, Laurent Beccaletto, Catherine Jenny

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

In northwestern Turkey, the Denizgören ophiolite and its sedimentary substratum, the Ezine Group, are enigmatic geological objects whose evolution remains problematic. Based on long-term fieldwork, we here propose a solution for their genesis and correlation. The whole of the Ezine Group, more than three km thick, is characterised by the systematic occurrence of carbonate rocks in the greenschist facies. It has been subdivided into three conformable formations: the Geyikli Formation, with a slight terrigeneous detrital nature, (Middle)-Late Permian in age; the Karadağ Formation, with platform-type sedimentation with local detrital input, Late Permian (Djulfian) in age; the Çamköy Formation, with a …

Uppermost Triassic Limestone In The Karakaya Complex- Stratigraphic And Tectonic Significance, Aral İ. Okay, Demi̇r Altiner Jan 2004

Uppermost Triassic Limestone In The Karakaya Complex- Stratigraphic And Tectonic Significance, Aral İ. Okay, Demi̇r Altiner

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Two important tectonostratigraphic units of the Karakaya Complex in northwest Turkey are: a lower metamorphic sequence of metabasite, phyllite and marble, called the Nilüfer Unit; and an upper clastic sequence with Permian and Carboniferous limestone olistoliths called the Hodul Unit. In northwestern Turkey, the Hodul Unit consists of arkosic sandstones, which pass upward into greywacke and siltstone with Permian and Carboniferous limestone blocks. A scarce macrofauna in the sandstones indicates a Norian age for the Hodul Unit. We report for the first time Norian-Rhaetian limestones, here named the Kaşal Limestone Member, from the Hodul Unit to the southwest of Balıkesir. …

Autochthonous Upper Permian (Midian) Carbonates In The Western Sakarya Composite Terrane, Geyve Area, Turkey: Preliminary Data, Necati̇ Turhan, Cengi̇z Okuyucu, M. Cemal Göncüoğlu Jan 2004

Autochthonous Upper Permian (Midian) Carbonates In The Western Sakarya Composite Terrane, Geyve Area, Turkey: Preliminary Data, Necati̇ Turhan, Cengi̇z Okuyucu, M. Cemal Göncüoğlu

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

Permian limestones occur widely within the clastic units of the "Karakaya Complex" and are interpreted as allochthonous bodies or olistoliths. In the Kadirler area to the south of Geyve, however, Upper Permian (Midian) quartz sandstones and carbonates with a rich foraminifer fauna disconformably overlie a crystalline basement complex. This basement complex comprises metaclastic rocks, recrystallised limestones, metacherts, and metadiabases, and is intruded by granodiorites. The overlying basal conglomerates and quartzitic sandstones are dominated by pebbles from the basement complex and are followed upward by medium- to thick-bedded dolomites, dolomitic limestones and limestones. The foraminiferal assemblage with Neoschwagerina haydeni Dutkevitch and …

Upper Permian (Changxingian) Radiolarian Cherts Within The Clastic Successions Of The "Karakaya Complex" In Nw Anatolia, M. Cemal Göncüoğlu, Kiyoko Kuwahara, U. Kağan Teki̇n, Necati̇ Turhan Jan 2004

Upper Permian (Changxingian) Radiolarian Cherts Within The Clastic Successions Of The "Karakaya Complex" In Nw Anatolia, M. Cemal Göncüoğlu, Kiyoko Kuwahara, U. Kağan Teki̇n, Necati̇ Turhan

Turkish Journal of Earth Sciences

The arkosic sandstones with olistostromes within the "Karakaya Complex" in NW Anatolia to the south of Geyve include a thin layer of green chert with radiolaria. Based on the composition of Albaillellids, the radiolarian assemblage corresponds to the Neoalbaillella ornithoformis assemblage, and its age is assigned to the Changxingian (Late Permian). This is the first finding of synsedimentary radiolarian cherts within the Karakaya units and the indication of latest Permian rifting of the Karakaya basin within the Midian carbonate platform and its pre-Permian basement in the Sakarya Composite Terrane.

Variation Of Chemical Potential Oscillations Of A 2deg In A Quantum Well Under A Magnetic Field For Multiple Sub-Band Occupation As Function Of Temperature And Level-Broadening, Berri̇n Özdemi̇r, Zeki̇ Yarar, Meti̇n Özdemi̇r Jan 2004

Variation Of Chemical Potential Oscillations Of A 2deg In A Quantum Well Under A Magnetic Field For Multiple Sub-Band Occupation As Function Of Temperature And Level-Broadening, Berri̇n Özdemi̇r, Zeki̇ Yarar, Meti̇n Özdemi̇r

Turkish Journal of Physics

We study the variation of chemical potential in a two dimensional electron gas in a uniform magnetic field as a function of temperature and level-broadening parameter. Schrödinger and Poisson equations are solved self-consistently for a two dimensional electron gas formed in a Ga_xAl_{1-x}As/GaAs quantum well, to numerically determine the potential profile, empty or occupied energy sub-bands, the wavefunctions and electron concentrations corresponding to each sub-band at various temperatures. Then assuming that the electron concentration is not altered, the variation of chemical potential with respect to both temperature and energy level-broadening parameter is studied under a uniform and constant magnetic field. …

Numerical Simulation Of Soliton Pulse Propagation In Doped Optical Fibres By Finite-Difference Method, Adams Usman, Junaidah Osman, D. R. Tilley Jan 2004

Numerical Simulation Of Soliton Pulse Propagation In Doped Optical Fibres By Finite-Difference Method, Adams Usman, Junaidah Osman, D. R. Tilley

Turkish Journal of Physics

We report results of applications of explicit finite-difference schemes, viz. the combination of forward-difference and central-difference approximation schemes, to study a simulation of soliton pulse propagation in saturable optical fibres. The dynamic governing equation is the saturable nonlinear Schrödinger equation (SNLE). This equation thus far lacks analytical solution in the sense of the inverse scattering method, although an analytical solitary wave solution is available. We use the localized solution to generate data for simulations of fundamental and second order soliton pulse propagation. In addition, we check the numerical accuracy of the results by considering the physical significance of two conserved …

Effect Of Iron Concentrations On Some Physical Properties Of The System Li_{0.5}Fe_{X}Ga_{2.5 - X}O_{4}, Abd El-Raouf Tawfik, N. Tashtoush, O.M. Hemeda Jan 2004

Effect Of Iron Concentrations On Some Physical Properties Of The System Li_{0.5}Fe_{X}Ga_{2.5 - X}O_{4}, Abd El-Raouf Tawfik, N. Tashtoush, O.M. Hemeda

Turkish Journal of Physics

A series of Li_{0.5} Fe_{x} Ga_{2.5 - x} O_{4} systems were prepared for x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75 and 1 by the general ceramic method. X-ray diffraction showed that all compositions have single phase Spinel cubic structure. The lattice parameter increased with enhancing iron concentration. The thermoelectric coefficient decreased with increasing x, and the majority carriers are holes. The increase of the jump length of hole increased the electrical conductivity. Jump-length increased with iron concentration and the rate of jumping gave rise to the electrical conductivity. The concentration of Fe^{3 +} ions in Lithium gallate is important, for such …

Amps-1d Modeling Of A-Si:H N^{+}-I-N^{+} Structure: The Validity Of Space Charge Limited Current Analysis, Aynur Eray, G. Nobile

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this paper, the AMPS-1D (Analysis of Microelectronic and photonic structure) simulation program is used to understand the origin of the differences observed in Space Charge Limited Current (SCLC) analysis in thin and thick a-Si:H n^{ +} -i- n^{+} structure. For that purpose, the problem of applicability of SCLC measurements to n^{+}-i-n^{+} a-Si:H samples are investigated by using both the thin (0.3 \mu m) and thick (3 \mu m) samples. The simulation results show that activation energy in thick samples is larger than in thinner samples, which are an agreement with the experimental results. It is emphasized that this method …

Ac Conductivity And Dielectric Study Of Chalcogenide Glasses Of Se-Te-Ge System, Fathy Salman Jan 2004

Ac Conductivity And Dielectric Study Of Chalcogenide Glasses Of Se-Te-Ge System, Fathy Salman

Turkish Journal of Physics

The ac conductivity and dielectric properties of glassy system Se_{x}Te_{79 - x}Ge_{21}, with x = 11, 14, 17 at.%, has been studied at temperatures 300 to 450 K and over a wide range of frequencies (50 Hz to 500 kHz). Experimental results indicate that the ac conductivity and the dielectric constants depend on temperature, frequency and Se content. The conductivity as a function of frequency exhibited two components: dc conductivity \sigma _{dc}, and ac conductivity \sigma _{ac}, where \sigma _{ac} \sim \omega ^{s}. The mechanism of ac conductivity can be reasonably interpreted in terms of the correlated barrier hopping model …

Modeling Relaxation Length And Half-Thickness Of Wood By Method Of Gamma Radiation, Louis E. Akpabio, Sunday E. Etuk, Samuel David Ekpe

Turkish Journal of Physics

Relaxation lengths and half-thickness values of different types of wood were determined using gamma radiation from ^{60}C0 source. Results show that oxystigma (Oxystima spp) has the highest relaxation length of 23.810cm, while mangrove (Rhizoohora spp) has the least relaxation length of 1.247 cm. Results also show that Oxystima (Oxystima spp) has the highest half thickness value of 16.500 cm and Mangrove (Rhizophora spp) has the least half-thickness value of 0.864 cm. Two mathematical models have been developed for the prediction or determination of density \rho, variation with relaxation length and half thickness value of wood. A good agreement (greater than …

Dielectric Properties And Conductivity Of Khco_3, Fathy Salman, S. Aboelhssan, Eslam Sheha, Mabrouk Elmansy Jan 2004

Dielectric Properties And Conductivity Of Khco_3, Fathy Salman, S. Aboelhssan, Eslam Sheha, Mabrouk Elmansy

Turkish Journal of Physics

KHCO_{3} compound was characterized in three principle realms: for its dielectric properties as a function of temperature and frequency in the ranges 300--370 K and 50 Hz to 1 MHz, respectively; bulk conductivity as a function of temperature, via impedance technique; and relaxation time as function of temperature. Variations of the bulk conductivity and relaxation time with temperature have been found to yield two segments, with two different activation energies. The activation energy for the two segments due to bulk conductivity have been found as 1.96 eV and 1.85 eV, while the activation energy due to relaxation have been found …

Formation And Elastic Behavior Of Lead-Magnesium Chlorophosphate Glasses, Hj. Ab. Aziz Sidek, S. P. Chow, Z. A. Talib, S. A. Halim Jan 2004

Formation And Elastic Behavior Of Lead-Magnesium Chlorophosphate Glasses, Hj. Ab. Aziz Sidek, S. P. Chow, Z. A. Talib, S. A. Halim

Turkish Journal of Physics

A series of ternary lead-magnesium chlorophosphate glasses, (PbCl_{2})_{x}(MgO)_{1 - x}(P_{2}O_{5})_{0.4}, of various compositions with 0.3 \le x \le 0.45 have been successfully prepared and their elastic properties have been characterized at room temperature. Results from the studies show that both the longitudinal and shear wave velocities decrease with increase of PbCl_{2} composition. The elastic constants C_{11}, C_{44} and Young's modulus show a decreasing trend while the elastic constant C_{12}, bulk modulus and Poisson's ratio show an increasing trend as the fraction of PbCl_{2} increases. This behavior of the elastic properties is related to the change in the structure of glasses …

The Normal And Inverted Meyer-Neldel Rule In The Ac Conductivity, Fouad Abdel-Wahab Jan 2004

The Normal And Inverted Meyer-Neldel Rule In The Ac Conductivity, Fouad Abdel-Wahab

Turkish Journal of Physics

Recently, a new approach has been proposed for the correlated barrier hopping (CBH) model where the ac relaxation time is thought to obey the Meyer-Neldel (MN) rule. This approach gives quantitative agreement with some reliable published experimental data. We report on an experiment involving the characterization of the ac conductivity of Se-Te thin films over a wide range of frequencies and temperatures, carried out in order to confirm applicability of the MN rule to the ac conductivity. In addition to the normal MN rule, the inverted MN rule was observed.

Design And Preparation Of Antireflection And Reflection Optical Coatings, Özlem Duyar, H. Zafer Durusoy Jan 2004

Design And Preparation Of Antireflection And Reflection Optical Coatings, Özlem Duyar, H. Zafer Durusoy

Turkish Journal of Physics

In this study, reflective and antireflective coatings were designed and simulated. Optical transmission and reflection values were deduced with a matrix formulation via a personal computer. It was found that the number of layers affects the optical performance. The width of the high-reflectance region in the reflectance curves decreases, while its height increases with the increasing number of layers for the reflective coating design. The antireflection coatings transmit about 99.89% in a broad high-pass band at the central wavelength of \lambda_{0} = 450 nm. In addition, simulated Fabry-Perot filters result in a single sharp transmittance peak at the desired central …

Realizations Of The Osp(2,1) Superalgebra And Related Physical Systems, Hayri̇ye Tütüncüler, Ramazan Koç

Turkish Journal of Physics

Eigenvalues and eigenfunction of two-boson 2 \times 2 Hamiltonians in the framework of the superalgebra osp(2,1) are determined by presenting a similarity transformation. The Hamiltonians include two bosons and one fermion have been transformed in the form of the one variable differential equations and the conditions for its solvability have been discussed. It is observed that the Hamiltonians of the various physical systems can be written in terms of the generators of the osp(2,1) superalgebra and under some certain conditions their eigenstates can exactly be obtained. In particular, the procedure given here is useful in determining eigenstates of the Jaynes-Cummings …
