Nebraska Tractor Tests
All tractors tested at the Nebraska Tractor Test Laboratory were certified by their manufacturers as being stock model machines, conforming to specifications filed with the application for test. No special or high-test fuels were used except as recommended by the manufacturer as necessary.
All results within the official tractor test report were actually attained in tests and are without correction or allowances for friction, temperature, altitude, etc. The results were initially accomplished with the tractor in charge of skilled operators employed by the University.
Unless otherwise noted, each tractor was apparently in good condition at the end of the testing …

ABOUT THE TEST REPORT AND USE OF THE DATA The test data contained in this report are a tabulation of the results of a series of tests. Due to the restricted format of these pages, only a limited amount of data and not all of the tractor specifications are included. The full OECD report contains usually about 30 pages of data and specifications. The test data were obtained for each tractor under similar conditions and therefore, provide a means of comparison of performance based on a limited set of reported data. EXPLANATION OF THE TEST PROCEDURES Purpose The purpose of …

Rules For Official Tractor Tests, Nebraska Tractor Test Lab, Agicultural Experiment Station
Nebraska Tractor Tests
The Nebraska Tractor Law known as House Roll 85, 37th session, which became effective July 15, 1919, was enacted to encourage the manufacture and sale of imporved types of tractors and to contribute to a more successful use of the tractor for farming.
It was thought that the best method of accomplishing these objects would be to require a tractor of each model sold in the State to be tested at the State University and to have the results of these tests made public. These tests will give reliable information on the power capacity and fuel consumtion of each tractor …

Rules For Tractor Demonstrations, Nebraska Tractor Test Lab
Nebraska Tractor Tests
The object of these rules, instructions and data is to make all tractor demonstrations of this kind comparable and of the greatest educational value. Anyone who has conducted tractor demonstrations in the past has realized the necessity of some standard rules to follow and those who afterwards have referred to the results, deplore the lack of uniformity in the demonstrations and the data. For those who have not had this experience will find that it is a great help to have satisfactory rules to follow.
The value of these demonstrations depends largely upon the accuracy of the data reported on …

Electric Double-Refraction In Carbon Disulphide At Low Potentials, Gustaf W. Elmen
Electric Double-Refraction In Carbon Disulphide At Low Potentials, Gustaf W. Elmen
University Studies (University of Nebraska) (1888–1984)
When light polarized at an angle of forty-five degrees to the lines of force is passed through certain dielectrics, between two parallel electrodes, they become double-refracting. The difference of phase, delta, between the two components of light at right angles and parallel to the lines of force, as represented by Kerr and verified by later investigators, is
δ = ± BP2l/a2
where B is the electro-optic constant, depending on, the dielectric, I the length, and a the distance between the plate' electrodes in centimeters, and P the difference of potential between the electrodes in C.G.S. units.
