To obtain the information of virulence factors associated with Staphylococcus pseudintermedius pathogenicity, host survival and adaptation, the study of staphylococcal enterotoxin (SE) genes and cell wall-associated (CWA) protein genes in S. pseudintermedius isolates from dogs, humans, and environment were performed. Human methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP) harbored the hightes number of SE genes at 12 out of 17 genes compared to those from dogs at 5 and environmental isolates at 3 gene types. After an introduction of pandemic H1N1 swine influenza virus (pdmH1N1 SIV) in the Thai swine farms, mild clinical outcome is observed and its role in porcine respiratory disease complex (PRDC) is questionable. A highly pathogenic porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (HP-PRRSV) has become endemic in the Thai swine farms. This study was conducted to determine the pathogenicity of the pdmH1N1 SIV when co-infected with a HP-PRRSV. Porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) is a recently identified swine virus with currently unknown pathogenesis. To date, PCV3 has been found in many countries, indicating the wide spread of the virus. Multicentric lymphoma is the most common hematopoietic tumors in dogs. Both B- or T-lymphocyte clones can originate to lymphoma. A gold standard method to differentiate each lymphocyte lineage is immunohistochemistry (IHC) by detecting specific proteins of B and T cell. A protein marker for T and B cells is CD3 and CD79a, respectively. However, another pan pre B-cell marker is Pax5 or B-cell specific activator protein. Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) is an economically significant swine disease having a negative impact to the swine industry worldwide. Appropriate management strategies and diagnostic tests are crucial to successfully control PRRS virus (PRRSV). However, the application for oral fluid-based diagnosis has not been evaluated in the Thai farms previously. This study aimed at determine prevalence and concentration of Streptococcus suis contamination in pork production chains as well as evaluate the health risk attributable to S. suis serotype 2 from pork consumption in Thailand. In total, 492 pig-to-pork and 480 environmental samples were collected from 4 pork production chains in Bangkok. Besides, total 1,036 pork samples were also collected from traditional and modern trades in Chiangmai, Phayao, Nan, Khonkaen, Mukdahan, Saraburi, Nakhonpathom, and Phang-nga provinces. Risk estimates are evaluated by using quantitative microbial risk assessment (QMRA) which is a scientific tool. The methodology can be applied to model of human adverse health effect associated with K. pneumoniae and ciprofloxacin-resistant K. pneumoniae (CRKP) from pork consumption in Bangkok. This study had four phases which were 1) sample collection, 2) bacterial isolation and enumeration, 3) antimicrobial susceptibility test and 4) risk assessment. The effects of dexmedetomidine combined with pethidine on the minimum alveolar concentration (MAC) of isoflurane and cardiorespiratory variables in dogs were evaluated in thirty client-owned, healthy adult male dogs scheduled for castration at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Chulalongkorn University. The study of the appearance of intra-thoracic lymph nodes in the cat observed on the computed tomography which divided into 3 parts as following; the feline soft cadaver, clinically normal cats and the retrospective study of the feline patients. The study investigated the relationship of degree of patellar luxation of dogs with joint radiography, intra-articular degenerative change of the stifle with medial patellar luxation (MPL), histopathologic change, and biomarker index. Thirty-eight stifles were divided into four groups: normal stifle joints (4), grades 2 (13), 3 (12), and 4 (9) MPL. Demographic data, lameness score, and degree of patellar luxation of all dogs were assessed and recorded. Radiographs were taken to assess osteophyte formation. Brachycephalic airway obstruction syndrome (BAOS) is life threatening condition in brachycephalic dogs. Surgical correction of primary disorders including elongated soft palate and stenotic nares is indicated in all cases. Aim of this study was to compare the use of the ultrasonic scalpel with the conventional incision technique for staphylectomy. Twenty dogs with BAOS enrolled in this study were randomly assigned into conventional (N=10) or ultrasonic group (N=10). Respiratory score was evaluated and recorded prior to surgery. การประเมินทางพันธุกรรมของลักษณะการอยู่รอดของลูกสุกรที่สัมพันธ์กับขนาดครอกและน้ำหนักแรกเกิดรายตัว, ทิตยา วรวัฒนธรรม

ประเมินค่าพารามิเตอร์ทางพันธุกรรมของลักษณะการอยู่รอดของลูกสุกรแรกเกิด (PSB) และการอยู่รอดของลูกสุกรก่อนหย่านม (PSW) ร่วมกับลักษณะน้ำหนักแรกเกิดรายตัว (IBW) และลักษณะขนาดครอก (LS) จากข้อมูลการอยู่รอดของลูกสุกรจำนวน 14,389 บันทึก (1,413 ครอก) จากแม่สุกร 705 ตัว ข้อมูลการอยู่รอดของลูกสุกรพันธุ์แลนด์เรซ ยอร์กเชียร์ และดูร็อก บันทึกในฟาร์มที่เลี้ยงสุกรในโรงเรือนเปิดที่ไม่มีระบบระบายความร้อน เป็นข้อมูลของลูกสุกรที่เกิดระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2549 ถึง 2560 ประมาณค่าองค์ประกอบความแปรปรวนด้วยวิธี Gibbs sampling สำหรับลักษณะแบบไบนารี่และวิธี Average Information Restricted Maximum Likelihood (AIREML) สำหรับลักษณะแบบต่อเนื่อง ผลการศึกษาพบว่า ลำดับท้อง ระยะเวลาการอุ้มท้องของแม่สุกร และกลุ่มของโรงเรือน-ปี-เดือนที่ลูกสุกรเกิด มีอิทธิพลต่อ PSB, PSW และ IBW อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p<0.05) นอกจากนี้ PSW และ IBW ยังได้รับอิทธิพลจากพันธุ์ และเพศของสุกร (p<0.05) สำหรับ LS พบว่าขึ้นอยู่กับอิทธิพลของพันธุ์ของลูกสุกร และกลุ่มของโรงเรือน-ปี-เดือนที่ลูกสุกรเกิด (p<0.05) ค่าอัตราพันธุกรรมของ PSB, PSW, IBW และ LS มีค่าเท่ากับ 0.23 ± 0.02, 0.36 ± 0.03, 0.38 ± 0.03 และ 0.22 ± 0.01 ตามลำดับ ค่าสหสัมพันธ์ทางพันธุกรรมระหว่าง IBW กับ PSB และ PSW มีค่าสูงเท่ากับ 0.77 ± 0.05 และ 0.85 ± 0.05 ตามลำดับ ในขณะที่ค่าสหสัมพันธ์ทางพันธุกรรมระหว่าง PSB กับ PSW มีค่าปานกลางเท่ากับ 0.69 ± 0.14 สำหรับลักษณะรายครอกพบว่าค่าสหสัมพันธ์ทางพันธุกรรมระหว่าง LS กับลักษณะเปอร์เซ็นต์การอยู่รอดของลูกสุกรแรกเกิด (%PSB) เปอร์เซ็นต์การอยู่รอดของลูกสุกรก่อนหย่านม (%PSW) และน้ำหนักแรกเกิดเฉลี่ย (ABW) มีค่าเป็นลบเท่ากับ -0.16 ± 0.03 -0.64 ± 0.02 และ -0.99 ± 0.001 ตามลำดับ จากค่าสหสัมพันธ์ทางพันธุกรรมแสดงให้เห็นว่า การคัดเลือกเพื่อเพิ่มน้ำหนักแรกเกิดของลูกสุกรอาจมีผลทำให้ PSB และ PSW เพิ่มขึ้น แต่หากคัดเลือกเพื่อเพิ่ม LS จะมีผลทำให้ %PSB, %PSW และ ABW ลดลง
