Atypical Porcine Pestivirus (APPV) is an emerging swine pathogen associated with congenital tremor (CT) Type A-II, a neurological condition characterized by tremors of the head, body, and limbs, as well as poor growth in piglets. From September 2023 to August 2025, nasal and blood samples were collected from 181 pigs from four commercial pig farms in Central Thailand, and APPV was detected in 17 samples. Notably, all APPV-positive samples come from one farm. A follow-up study was conducted at the infected farm to assess APPV persistence and its association with age groups and clinical signs. This study investigates severe, recurrent mortality outbreaks in farmed snakeskin gourami (Trichopodus pectoralis) in central Thailand between 2021 and 2023. Characterized by exophthalmos and systemic hemorrhage, these incidents prompted an investigation to identify causative agents, assess antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and explore genomic adaptation. Bacterial isolates from moribund fish in Samut Sakhon province were identified via MALDI-TOF MS and 16S rRNA sequencing, followed by whole-genome sequencing (Illumina HiSeq) and comparative pan-genomic analysis. Two primary pathogens, Streptococcus agalactiae and Streptococcus suis, were confirmed as causative agents of acute bacterial septicemia, occurring in both single and co-infections. This study aims to investigate the hematological, blood biochemical, and cytochemical characteristics of blood cells in healthy Aldabra giant tortoises in captivity. A 2-year-old, castrated male Jindo dog presented with 6 days of penile swelling and protrusion, suggesting priapism. Blood gas was analyzed by aspirating the corpus cavernosum to differentiate the type. However, the results were ambiguous. Ultrasound and computed tomography revealed a well-encapsulated mass ventral to the urethra. Magnetic resonance imaging showed a mass (T2-hyperintense, T1-hypointense, with no contrast enhancement) located ventral to the urethra. Cytology revealed only red blood cells, confirming a hematoma. Penile hematoma mimicking priapism was diagnosed. After 11 weeks of glucocorticoid administration, the hematoma and the protruded penis resolved. This case suggests that penile hematoma can be …

This study aimed to determine the optimal concentration of mulberry leaf powder (MLP) supplementation and to evaluate the impact of different seasons on the growth performance, carcass characteristics, and blood lipid levels of Pradu-Hang-Dam chickens. One-week-old chickens were assigned to three groups: a control group (without MLP) and two groups receiving diets supplemented with 0.5% and 1.5% MLP, respectively, over a 10-week period. The results indicated that during the cool season, the control group exhibited the highest feed intake, average daily gain, and superior carcass characteristics (P < 0.05). In the rainy season, chickens supplemented with 1.5% MLP achieved the highest feed intake, while those supplemented with 0.5% MLP showed the highest average daily gain and the lowest feed conversion ratio (P < 0.05). Furthermore, the 1.5% MLP group demonstrated superior carcass characteristics compared to the control group during the rainy season (P < 0.05). Analysis of blood lipid metabolism revealed that the group supplemented with 0.5% MLP during the cool season had the lowest levels of triglycerides, cholesterol, and high-density lipoprotein. In conclusion, the cool season is the most favorable for raising Pradu-Hang-Dam chickens in Thailand. Additionally, supplementing diets with at least 0.5% MLP during the rainy season can improve growth performance, carcass characteristics, and blood parameters.

Slit lamp biomicroscopy showed moderate corneal edema, instability of the axial corneal epithelial surface, and an anterior cortical opacity of the lens. Based on these results, a diagnosis of canine endothelial degeneration was made with the incidental finding of an incipient cataract in the left eye. Abstract

Canine atopic dermatitis (CAD) is a genetically predisposed inflammatory skin disease with a global distribution, yet it is incurable. A key clinical sign of CAD is pruritus. Oclacitinib has proven effective in managing pruritus in atopic dogs. This case report details the long-term administration of oclacitinib every other day for controlling pruritus in an atopic dog. An 8-year-old atopic Bangkaew dog presented with pruritus, alopecia, and recurrent Malassezia pachydermatis infection. Abstract

Toxoplasmosis is a protozoan zoonosis caused by Toxoplasma gondii. Marsupials are considered a susceptible intermediate host. T. gondii is mainly transmitted to intermediate hosts via the fecal-oral route. A captive red kangaroo was diagnosed with disseminated toxoplasmosis based on clinicopathological and immunohistochemical (IHC) investigations. Two years later, a five-year-old Parma wallaby was kept in the same area as the red kangaroo and showed clinical signs of depression, withdrawal from the troop, and weakness. Lingual Histiocytic Sarcoma In A Dog: A Case Report, Seulgi Bae

An 8-year-old spayed Maltese dog was presented for the evaluation of a lingual mass. The dog had excessive drooling and dysphagia. Oral examination revealed a soft, fluctuating mass at the left side of the tongue. Computed tomography showed a 21 × 32 × 66 mm lingual mass and enlarged left medial retropharyngeal lymph node. On cytology of the lingual mass, a round cell tumor was suspected; however, it was not responsive to glucocorticoid therapy. Because of severe complications, glossectomy and lymphadenectomy were performed; unfortunately, the patient died because of dyspnea in the postoperative period.
