Prevalence And Molecular Characteristics Of Antimicrobial Resistance Of Aeromonas Hydrophila, Salmonella Spp., Vibrio Cholerae, Fecal Coliform, And Escherichia Coli In Hybrid Red Tilapia And Cultured Water, Varangkana Thaotumpitak

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Foodborne pathogens and antimicrobial resistant bacteria in tilapia and cultivation water has been emerged as a public health threat. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of indicator and pathogenic bacteria in hybrid red tilapia (Oreochromis spp.) and their cultivation water, and to characterize phenotypic and genotypic AMR, virulence genes, and extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) production of Escherichia coli, Aeromonas hydrophila, Salmonella spp., and Vibrio cholerae. A total of 120 tilapia, which were comprised of carcass rinse (n=120), muscle (n=120), intestine (n=120), liver and kidney (n=120), and cultivation water (n=120) were collected from tilapia farms in Kanchanaburi province, Thailand during October …

Genetic Characterizations, Virulence, Antimicrobial Resistances And Resistome Analysis Of Vibrio Spp. Isolated From Farmed Asian Sea Bass (Lates Calcarifer) In Thailand, Hartanto Mulyo Raharjo Jan 2021

Genetic Characterizations, Virulence, Antimicrobial Resistances And Resistome Analysis Of Vibrio Spp. Isolated From Farmed Asian Sea Bass (Lates Calcarifer) In Thailand, Hartanto Mulyo Raharjo

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

This study describes the etiological agent of Vibriosis along with its distribution and antimicrobial resistance profiles among farmed Asian sea bass (Lates calcarifer) in Thailand. The study isolated 283 Vibrionaceae from 15 Asian sea bass farms located around the provinces of the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand coasts to uncover the distribution and antimicrobial resistance profiles. Bacterial identification based on a combination of the biochemical characteristics, Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ ionization-time of flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry (MS) analysis, and the species-specific PCR demonstrated the predominant Vibrionaceae were Vibrio harveyi (n = 56), Photobacterium damselae (n = 35), and V. vulnificus …

Monitoring And Characterization Of Colistin Resistant Escherichia Coli In Pig Farm And Environment Following The Cessation In Use Of Colistin, Nwai Oo Khine Jan 2021

Monitoring And Characterization Of Colistin Resistant Escherichia Coli In Pig Farm And Environment Following The Cessation In Use Of Colistin, Nwai Oo Khine

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

The growing cases of colistin resistance due to plasmid mediated mcr genes family in Enterobacteriaceae is catastrophic to public health. In this study, our team performed the nation-wide surveillance of mcr-positive Escherichia coli (MCRPE) in healthy pigs across Thailand. Then we monitored longitudinally over the representative pig farm after colistin was withdrawn and genomic characterization was carried out. Among the 696 samples collected from 49 provinces of Thailand, the low carriage rate of mcr-1 or combination of mcr-1 and mcr-3 (4.45% and 0.43%) were detected. MCRPE isolates were multidrug-resistant (MDR) against 3–14 types of antimicrobial and enterotoxin genes were largely …

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

Aeromonas is an important bacterial pathogen in freshwater fishes. This study aimed to investigate the distribution and diversity of Aeromonas spp. including their antimicrobial resistance patterns. 86 Aeromonas isolates were collected from diseased fish in 13 fish farms around Thailand. Biochemical tests, MALDI-TOF MS, PCR assays, and the gyrB gene sequence analysis were used to identify all isolates. MALDI-TOF MS confirmed 100% (86 isolates) at the genus level and 88.4% (76 isolates) at the species level. Six Aeromonas species were confirmed based on sequences of gyrB gene, including A. veronii (72.1%), A. jandaei (11.6%), A. schubertii (9.3%), A. diversa (3.5%), …

Anti-Inflammatory Efficacy Of New Zealand Green-Lipped Mussel Extract In Canine Chronic Stifle Osteoarthritis Monitoring By Thermographic Imaging, Supakit Vilaisuntornkiat Jan 2021

Anti-Inflammatory Efficacy Of New Zealand Green-Lipped Mussel Extract In Canine Chronic Stifle Osteoarthritis Monitoring By Thermographic Imaging, Supakit Vilaisuntornkiat

Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)

This study aimed to compare the anti-inflammatory effect of the NZGLM and placebo in patients with cranial cruciate ligament disease using thermographic imaging. This study evaluated the temperature from thermographic imaging to measure the reduce of inflammation. This study included 52 dogs with cranial cruciate disease and medial patellar luxation. All dogs were divided into 2 group that was group A and group B. The temperature at day 0 were 99.60 °F in group A and 99.07 °F in group B. The temperature at 4th week were 97.09 °F in group A and 99.02 °F in group B. The result …
