Despite landmark breakthroughs in cancer research, African American adults (AA) bear the highest cancer burden compared to other racial groups in the United States (US). AA adults have twice the likelihood of dying from prostate and uterine cancers compared to White adults, suggesting that there are fundamental issues yet to be addressed when developing and implementing cancer-preventative programs for AA communities. Community-based participatory research (CBPR) empowers community members to identify and prioritize their health problems and preferred strategies to tackle these issues. Little is known about hybrid PhD nursing students' experiences.

Method:

The purpose of this study was to describe and analyze the experiences of PhD nursing students in a hybrid program using a convergent mixed methods design. Recent nursing PhD alumni (n = 18), and current PhD students (n = 4) were recruited at a research-intensive university in the southwestern United States.

The literature search was conducted using CINHAL, APA PsychInfo, Medline, and Applied Science & Technology Source databases. The search resulted in 84 articles, of which 6 were eligible to be included in the narrative review. Background:

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic profoundly impacted patient care across the United States.

Objective:

To examine nursing staffs’ perceptions of the COVID-19 vaccine using the Health Belief Model (HBM) as a theoretical framework.

Methods:

A cross-sectional, anonymous, web-based survey was completed by practicing nursing staffs throughout the United States. Analyses involved descriptive and comparative statistics.

Results:

Of the 294 nursing staff who completed surveys, 50% were between 18 and 37 years of age, and 73.1% were registered nurses, with 49.3% employed in a hospital setting. Nursing staff reported their primary reason for vaccination was concern for others (mean: 84.44; SD: …

Introduction: Prompt recognition of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is critical to facilitate timely treatments to preserve the myocardium. Aims of the study were to: 1) identify the symptoms used to assess angina; 2) determine how emergency nurses make triage decisions for potential ACS; and 3) determine emergency nurses’ initial actions.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional, survey-based design. Emergency nurses were recruited through a posting on the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) website and through postcards. Gamification is an approach that can be used to introduce interprofessional collaboration in nursing and health science. Card games are an effective and convenient way to educate students about clinical professions.

Purpose:

We compared the perception of an experimental group of students who played an educational card game to a control group that played an uninstructive card game.

Methods:

College students (n = 148) from nursing and health science majors consented to play a 30-minute card game and complete a 13-item survey.

ผลการศึกษา: 1) พฤติกรรมการป้องกันโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา 2019 อยู่ในระดับดี ( = 54.51, SD = 7.91)  2) ความรอบรู้ด้านสุขภาพ (ß = .515, p< .001) และความตั้งใจปฏิบัติพฤติกรรม (ß = .365, p < .001) สามารถร่วมกันทำนายพฤติกรรมการป้องกันโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา 2019 ของผู้สูงอายุ ได้ร้อยละ 61.8 

สรุป: ผลการศึกษานี้สามารถนำข้อมูลไปใช้ในการพัฒนาโปรแกรมเพื่อป้องกันโรคติดเชื้อไวรัสโคโรนา 2019 ในผู้สูงอายุ
