" REBOOT! Resurrecting a Nursing Mentorship Program post COVID Rationale: Mentorship programs have been recognized as beneficial in enhancing nurse retention and professional development as evidenced by PTAP and Magnet recommendations. EBP Question: In two PTAP Certified and Magnet aligned hospitals, can the reimagining of a 1-year Nurse Mentorship Program benefit the participants, compared to non-participants, as evidenced by program engagement, participant satisfaction with their professional role, and retention rates. Background: With the adoption of the Astana Declaration on primary health care, modern approaches are being introduced in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The created national foundations of the nursing management system in Kazakhstan are a visible manifestation of a new organizational culture. In connection with the large-scale reform of nursing and the creation of a new position of nurses that meets modern social challenges and international requirements, the role of nurses in healthcare has increased significantly. In this study, we measured the actual scope of nursing practice among nurses in the medical organizations in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Improving Emergency Department Belongings Inventory Electronic Medical Record Documentation Rates Background: Electronic Medical Record (EMR) education and training for RNs should be multifaceted and targeted to the RN clinical workflow. Input from direct care RNs is essential to ensure EMR education is relevant and effective. Shared Governance at a community hospital identified quality and safety concerns among inpatient RNs. RNs reported that belongings inventories were not consistently documented in the EMR for Emergency Department (ED) admissions. Hospital policy requires belongings inventory EMR documentation for all admitted patients. An audit of charts for ED admissions over three months revealed only 5% …

Background and Review of Literature: Endotracheal tube cuff pressure should be maintained between 20 to 30 cmH2O to prevent adverse airway outcomes. Standardized practice is not endorsed by any major anesthesia organization nor by Washington University School of Medicine’s Department of Anesthesia. The common practice of manual palpation is unreliable. Use of a manometer is effective to measure and achieve appropriate cuff pressure.

Noise is a significant problem in the operating room with numerous negative impacts physically, mentally, and emotionally for both healthcare workers and patients. In particular, the obstetric operating room is the noisiest operating room in the hospital. The majority of patients in the obstetric operating room do not receive sedation medications and remain fully awake throughout the procedure; thus, they are fully aware of the noise levels surrounding them during their procedures. As anesthesia providers, CRNAs are licensed to perform cardiac diagnostic imaging such as TTE during surgery, yet it is often missing from CRNA school curriculum.
