Patients seeking lip augmentation procedures commonly experience self-resolving soft-tissue complications such as swelling and bruising. There are many widely accepted pre-procedural recommendations available to help patients minimize the risk of these undesirable outcomes. At a Medical Aesthetics practice in Southern California, lip augmentation patients often arrived to their appointment non-adherent to pre-procedural recommendations that were available on the practice website. Text message delivery systems have been used to improve patient adherence to healthcare instructions across a variety of healthcare settings. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common condition that affects hormones in women, especially in their 20s and 30s. Symptoms of PCOS include irregular periods, abnormal hair growth, acne, obesity, hyperpigmentation of the skin, cysts, skin tags, thinning hair, and infertility (Newin, 2023). While the exact cause of PCOS is unknown, it is linked to insulin resistance, higher levels of androgens, and low-grade inflammation (Newin, 2023). The purpose of this paper is to support a federal mandate requiring universal access to medication of opioid use disorder for all the justice-involved populations. The policy proposal aims to standardize evidence-based treatment across correctional systems, improve treatment initiation during incarceration, strengthen continuity of care after release, reduce overdose mortality, and address disparities in access for racial and economic groups and rural communities. Background – Obstetric fistula is a childbirth injury caused by prolonged labor that leads to stillbirth and incontinence, spurring social exclusion and isolation. These layers of trauma put women with fistula at great risk for psychological suffering, which has profound negative socioeconomic impacts on them, their families, and communities. Methodology: A Cross-sectional study design. A survey was conducted among 4893 married girls aged 15-19 years using quantitative methods. Quantitative data was collected through the structured questionnaire, which was administered, data was collected and entered in EPI-INFO 2020 software, and was cleaned and analyzed using STATA version 15.0. Binary logistic regression was done to examine the factors independently associated with teenage pregnancy. A multistage sampling technique was used.

The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program at the University of Texas at Arlington initiated a global outreach effort in 2024 through two complementary strategies: expansion of a digital repository to support dissemination of DNP scholarly work and implementation of pilot DNP projects in Kenya. Together, these initiatives represent an integrated model for global engagement that combines knowledge dissemination with application of practice-based scholarship. This paper summarizes a project completed by nursing students at a women’s day center and transitional housing program in Washington state that supports women experiencing homelessness as they work toward stability. The center provides daytime services to more than 200 women daily who experience chronic stress, trauma, limited access to healthcare, and environmental barriers. BACKGROUND: Community-dwelling adults are at risk for adverse drug events such as falls, hospitalizations, cognitive decline, drug-to-drug interactions, and mortality related to high-risk medication use and polypharmacy, often defined as concurrent use of five or more different medications. Universities in Washington State have a responsibility to maintain both educational continuity and campus safety, particularly because of the region’s vulnerability to major earthquakes. Although many institutions maintain emergency preparedness plans, the accessibility and strategic placement of emergency resources remain critical concerns. Pressure injuries acquired in the hospital continue to be a major concern in patient safety among critically ill populations. The purpose of the quality improvement project was to improve nursing compliance with pressure injury prevention strategies among postoperative patients in a cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU). Patients who undergo cardiovascular surgery are at a high risk of developing pressure injuries due to immobility, sedation, vasopressors, and prolonged positioning on their backs. Spontaneous Awakening and Breathing Trials (SAT/SBT) might be central to early extubation by decreasing total ventilator time and reducing the intensive care unit (ICU) length of stay (LOS). Unfortunately, these trials often have not been conducted consistently in the ICU. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the frequency of SAT/SBT performed prior to mechanical ventilator extubation on total ventilator time in hours and LOS.
