วัตถุประสงค์: ศึกษาปัจจัยที่ร่วมกันทนายพลังต้านการเสพยาบ้าซ้ำของวัยรุ่นที่เสพยาบ้า\n\nแบบแผนงานวิจัย: การวิจัยแบบความสัมพันธ์เชิงทำนาย\n\nวิธีดำเนินการวิจัย: กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ วัยรุ่นอายุ 12-24 ปี ที่เสพยาบ้าและเข้ารับการบำบัดรักษาแบบผู้ป่วยนอก ของโรงพยาบาลสังกัดกรมการแพทย์ จำนวน 185 คน เครื่องมือวิจัยได้แก่ แบบสอบถาม 1) ข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล 2) การเห็นคุณค่าในตนเอง 3) การเผชิญความเครียด 4) ดัชนีชี้วัดปัญหาความรุนแรงของการใช้ยาบ้า 5) ความเข้มแข็งของครอบครัว และ 6) การรับรู้การสนับสนุนทางสังคมจากเพื่อน และแบบประเมิน 7) โรคซึมเศร้า (9Q) และ 8) พลังต้านการเสพยาบ้าซ้ำของวัยรุ่นไทย เครื่องมือชุดที่ 2-8 มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟ่าของครอนบาค .74, .91, .66, .83, .94, .84 และ .97 ตามลำดับ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนาและการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยพหุคูณแบบเป็นขั้นตอน\n\nผลการวิจัย: พบว่า วัยรุ่นที่เสพยาบ้าส่วนใหญ่มีพลังต้านการเสพยาบ้าซ้ำอยู่ในระดับมาก (Median=169, SD =22.3) การเผชิญความเครียดโดยใช้ความสามารถของตนเอง ความเข้มแข็งของครอบครัว การสนับสนุนทางสังคมจากเพื่อน และภาวะซึมเศร้า สามารถร่วมกันทำนายพลังต้านการเสพยาบ้าซ้ำของวัยรุ่นที่เสพยาบ้าได้ ร้อยละ 48.40 (R2= .484) อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01โดยมีสมการทำนายในรูปคะแนนมาตรฐาน คือ พลังต้านการเสพยาบ้าซ้ำของวัยรุ่นที่เสพยาบ้า (Zý) = .621 (การเผชิญความเครียดโดยใช้ความสามารถของตนเอง) +.212 (ความเข้มแข็งของครอบครัว) +.217 (การสนับสนุนทางสังคมจากเพื่อน) - .131 (ภาวะซึมเศร้า)\n\nสรุป: การส่งเสริมวัยรุ่นที่เสพยาบ้าเกิดพลังต้านการเสพยาบ้าซ้ำ โดยพัฒนาให้เกิดปัจจัยปกป้อง คือ การเผชิญความเครียดโดยใช้ความสามารถของตนเอง ความเข้มแข็งของครอบครัว และการสนับสนุนทางสังคมจากเพื่อน และลดปัจจัยเสี่ยง คือ ภาวะซึมเศร้า

Morbidity and mortality occur at higher rates in those with serious mental illness (SMI) than those without SMI. These higher rates are worsening in degree, despite known preventative strategies, such as physical health risk screening (HRS). This study evaluates the relationship of physical HRS with self-efficacy for health prevention behaviors, perception of level of risk of health consequences, and intention to follow up with medical care for identified health risks. The study considers Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) factors related to HRS in individuals with SMI. A HRS tool was administered to 54 adult ambulatory clients from the Midwestern United States …

The nursing workforce increasingly faces issues that affect clinical and managerial practice. One such issue is work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC). Nurses face role strain as they confront the pressures from often competing work-and-family roles. This study assessed WFC/FWC among varying nurse roles: staff nurses, managerial nurses, and nurse executives. A random sample of 5,000 nurses, generated from registered nurses practicing in the state of Florida, was surveyed for this research study. Nurses were surveyed on demographics, perceptions regarding the work environment, and perceptions of WFC/FWC. Descriptively, nurses experienced more work-family conflict than family-work conflict. Depression is one of the leading causes of disease and disability, often found in patients with long-term chronic physical conditions such as diabetes. Collaborative care, which includes care managers, has shown to improve depression outcomes in patients; usual care has been shown to be inadequate. This quality improvement project screened patients with diabetes for depression. Patients with an elevated depression screening score were provided care management support and rescreened every two weeks to evaluate depression symptoms. Background: At the site of this quality improvement project, exclusive breast milk feeding rates before discharge from a newborn nursery were behind benchmark goals. The aim of this project was to improve exclusive breast milk feeding rates by implementing a Pasteurized Donor Human Milk (PDHM) Program for breastfeeding newborns requiring medically indicated supplementation. The study site was a Level I newborn nursery of a 20-bed, labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum unit within a 100-bed community hospital (i.e., the agency).

Background: Each year over 300,000 older adults are hospitalized for hip fracture. The impact of the cost of hip fracture on the US health care system is estimated to be as high as $9 billion, with the typical cost of a hip fracture episode around $30,000. Formalized pathways have been developed and successfully utilized for many patient presentations, including hip fracture, in the acute setting. Although this research is important to the comprehensive care of the elderly hip fracture patient, very little research exists that outlines evidence-based best-practice for patients in the post-acute recovery period.

Cancellations are often the result of NPO (nil per os or nothing by mouth) violations, missed preoperative instructions, and patient illness. Background: Death in the neonatal period affects not only the patient and the family, but the nursing staff. Lack of education in palliative care puts undue stress on the staff and causes negative attitudes. Methods and Design: An evidence based project with a pretest, posttest, 30-day posttest design measured nurses comfort and involvement levels prior to an educational intervention, immediately after the intervention and 30-days post intervention. The sample was a convenience sample of nurses from an inpatient hospital. A psychometric instrument was used with higher scores indicating more comfort, and lower scores, indicating less comfort.
