Graduates of associate degree nursing programs continue to be unsuccessful with licensure examinations, despite standardized testing and stronger admission criteria. วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อศึกษาบทบาทพยาบาลที่ให้การดูแลผู้ป่วยเบาหวานตามการรับรู้ของพยาบาลวิชาชีพ โรงพยาบาลของรัฐและเอกชนในเขตกรุงเทพมหานคร \nรูปแบบการวิจัย: การวิจัยเชิงพรรณนา \nวิธีดำเนินการวิจัย: กลุ่มตัวอย่างคือ พยาบาลวิชาชีพที่ปฏิบัติงานในแผนกที่มีการดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคเบาหวาน ในโรงพยาบาลของรัฐ โรงพยาบาลเอกชน เขตกรุงเทพมหานคร จํานวน 341 คน ได้จากการสุ่มตัวอย่าง แบบหลายขั้นตอน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือแบบสอบถามบทบาทพยาบาลในการดูแลผู้ป่วยเบาหวาน ผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหา และทดสอบความเที่ยงโดยหาสัมประสิทธิ์แอลฟาครอนบาคได้ ค่าความเที่ยง .97 สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน สถิติทดสอบทีและวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว \nผลการวิจัย: \n1. บทบาทพยาบาลที่ให้การดูแลผู้ป่วยเบาหวาน ตามการรับรู้ของพยาบาลวิชาชีพ โดยรวมอยู่ ที่ระดับมาก เมื่อพิจารณารายด้าน พบว่าบทบาทพยาบาลที่ให้การดูแลผู้ป่วยเบาหวาน ในด้านการปฏิบัติ การพยาบาล (x = 4.43, SD = 0.56) ด้านการประสานงานและการติดต่อสื่อสารกับทีมสหสาขาวิชาชีพ (x = 3.57, SD = 0.77) อยู่ในระดับมาก แต่บทบาทพยาบาลที่ให้การดูแลผู้ป่วยเบาหวาน ด้านการจัดการ และประเมินผลลัพธ์ (x = 3.44, SD = 0.80) ด้านการให้ความรู้และคำปรึกษา (x = 3.20, SD = 0.65) และด้านการวิจัยและการใช้หลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์ (x = 3.19, SD = 0.85) อยู่ในระดับปานกลาง \n2. พยาบาลวิชาชีพที่ได้รับการอบรมการดูแลผู้ป่วยเบาหวานและไม่ได้รับการอบรมการดูแลผู้ป่วย เบาหวาน มีการปฏิบัติบทบาทพยาบาลเบาหวานต่างกัน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05 ส่วน พยาบาลวิชาชีพที่มี วุฒิการศึกษา ระยะเวลาที่ปฏิบัติงานพยาบาลวิชาชีพ และหน่วยงานที่ปฏิบัติงาน แตกต่างกัน มีการปฏิบัติบทบาทพยาบาลเบาหวานไม่ต่างกัน \nสรุปและข้อเสนอแนะ: พยาบาลวิชาชีพที่ให้การดูแลผู้ป่วยเบาหวานรับรู้บทบาทของพยาบาลเบาหวาน อยู่ในระดับมาก ผู้บริหารทางการพยาบาล สามารถนำบทบาทพยาบาลเบาหวาน ไปเป็นแนวทางในการ กําหนดบทบาทของพยาบาลในการดูแลผู้ป่วยเบาหวาน

วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการจัดการแบบบูรณาการต่อความเหนื่อยล้าหลังผ่าตัดของผู้ป่วยสูงอายุผ่าตัดทางศัลยกรรมกระดูก \nรูปแบบการวิจัย: การวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง \nวิธีดำเนินการวิจัย: โดยใช้แนวคิด Piper's Integrated Fatigue Model ของ Piper (1987) และ แนวทางการลดความเหนื่อยล้าของ Robinson et al. วัตถุประสงค์: เพื่อศึกษาผลของโปรแกรมการส่งเสริมสมรรถนะแห่งตนของผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือด สมองในระยะเปลี่ยนผ่านจากโรงพยาบาลสู่บ้าน \nรูปแบบการวิจัย: การวิจัยกึ่งทดลอง \nวิธีดำเนินการวิจัย: กลุ่มตัวอย่างเป็นผู้ดูแลผู้ป่วยโรคหลอดเลือดสมองตามคุณสมบัติที่กำหนดจำนวน 23 คน โปรแกรมที่ใช้ในการศึกษาประยุกต์ใช้ทฤษฎีการรับรู้สมรรถนะแห่งตนร่วมกับการดูแลผู้ป่วยอย่าง ต่อเนื่อง แบ่งเป็น 2 ระยะ คือ ขณะอยู่โรงพยาบาล และหลังจำหน่าย 6 สัปดาห์ เครื่องมือที่ใช้ได้แก่ แบบบันทึกข้อมูลส่วนบุคคล แบบประเมินการรับรู้สมรรถนะแห่งตนในการดูแลผู้ป่วย แบบสอบถาม ความสามารถในการปรับตัว และแบบวัดความผาสุกของผู้ดูแล วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติเชิงพรรณนา สถิติวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนแบบวัดซ้ํา และสถิติทดสอบแบบแมคนีมาร์ \nผลการวิจัย: ผลการศึกษาพบว่า กลุ่มตัวอย่างมีค่าเฉลี่ยการรับรู้สมรรถนะแห่งตนภายหลังจำหน่ายจาก โรงพยาบาลในสัปดาห์ที่ 2 และ 6 มากกว่าก่อนเริ่มโปรแกรมอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p < .05) และ จำนวนผู้ดูแลที่มีความผาสุกในสัปดาห์ที่ 6 หลังจำหน่ายออกจากโรงพยาบาล มากกว่าก่อนเริ่มโปรแกรม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p < .05) ค่าเฉลี่ยการปรับตัวหลังจำหน่ายจากโรงพยาบาลในสัปดาห์ที่ 2, 6 และก่อนเริ่มโปรแกรมไม่แตกต่างกัน (p > .05) \nสรุปและข้อเสนอแนะ: พยาบาลสามารถนำโปรแกรมสำหรับผู้ดูแลนี้มาประยุกต์ใช้เพื่อเพิ่มความผาสุกได้

Nurses account for a significant proportion of the health care workforce in most countries. In the African continent, it is estimated that nurses constitute about 80% of the health care professionals, however they are marginally represented in health research investigations and policy/decision-making roles. A descriptive research design was used to obtain data from 120 registered nurses in Calabar municipality, Nigeria. The study aimed at assessing the extent of nurses’ involvement in research and policy development. This qualitative cross-sectional study examines autonomy among long-term care residents and how certified nurse aides (CNAs) understand resident autonomy as expressed through residents' preferences. The study took place at one long-term care facility with N = 12 (7 residents and 5 CNAs). A phenomenological perspective is utilized in order to describe the meaning residents ascribe to personal preferences and the influence frailty has on those preferences. In addition, certified nurse aides, self-described as competent to report on a participating resident's preferences were interviewed separately. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) patients experience barriers to health care that include fear of discrimination and limited access to providers knowledgeable about and sensitive to the LGBT population and their specific health needs. This study examined the effectiveness of an educational intervention conducted at Illinois Wesleyan University designed to improve knowledge level and attitudes of nursing students toward LGBT patient care. Each year, more than two million people die from diarrhea-associated diseases. Although there is a global need for safe drinking water, culturally appropriate health teaching is essential to behavior change. This study evaluated the impact of a health education program in a small rural community in Cameroon. Flash cards and a modified version of the CDC-KPC 2000 survey were used to collect data in 57 homes. Children who lived in households with working Manz BioSand filters were less likely to have had diarrhea in the 2 weeks prior to the evaluation. Persistent neuroinflammation and disruptions in brain energy metabolism is commonly seen in traumatic brain injury (TBI). Because of the lack of success of most TBI interventions and the documented benefits of environmental enrichment (EE) in enhancing brain plasticity, here we focused our study on use of EE in regulating injury-induced neuroinflammation and disruptions in energy metabolism in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus. It is estimated that the incidence of pressure ulcers range from 0.4 to 38% in a hospital setting. Overall prevalence in the U.S. was 12.3% in 2009. A CMS analysis reported that pressure ulcers were responsible for over $2.41 billion dollars (Niederhauser et al., 2012). A large body of literature related to pressure ulcer incidence and prevalence reflects that education is not always the principal influencing factor for prevention; social and organizational barriers are just as critical when adapting clinical practice guidelines. Child sexual abuse has been identified as a common problem. According to the United States Department of Health and Human Services, in 2010 it was estimated that child victims of sexual abuse accounted for 9.2% (69,368) of the 573,794 children under the age of 12 years who were the victims of maltreatment. The emergency department (ED) is often the point of entry into the healthcare system for child sexual abuse victims, which adds to the resource burden of this department nationwide. Nurse burnout and the commission of errors are two seemingly unrelated phenomena in the health care arena. Burnout was first described by Herbert J. Freudenberger in 1974 and has since been studied in many industries, including nursing. The issue of errors in health care has been a growing concern since the Institute of Medicine published the report, To Err is Human in 1999. Little research has been done to link burnout and the commission of errors. A literature review was performed to investigate these two issues.
