Primary cardiac tumors are rare, particularly in the elderly population. The patient described in this report presented with symptoms of dyspnea on exertion, leg swelling, and weight gain and was found to have two histologically distinct cardiac masses: atrial myxoma with concurrent aortic fibroelastoma. Given her history of cirrhosis and end-stage renal disease, the patient was a poor surgical candidate but opted for excision of both masses. The patient eventually succumbed to her cirrhosis six weeks after presentation. Simultaneous Bilateral Patellar Tendon Rupture In A Young Adult Male: A Case Report And Review Of The Literature., Adrian Moy, Ethan Song, Sean J. Wallace Md, Robert Teixeira Md, Daniel Torres

A bilateral patellar tendon rupture is extremely rare and has only been documented in case reports. Although the etiology remains unknown, predisposing factors include steroid usage, systemic diseases, and tendinopathies. In the present case, a healthy 33-year-old male with a prior history of bilateral patellar tendonitis and a diagnosis of Osgood-Schlatter disease during adolescence experienced simultaneous bilateral patellar tendon rupture after playing volleyball. He underwent bilateral patellar repair without complications. In the absence of trauma, spontaneous bilateral patellar tendon ruptures are associated with several predisposing factors, including systemic diseases, prior corticosteroid or fluoroquinolone usage, and history of tendinopathy. Introduction: The treatment of long standing persistent atrial fibrillation (AF) is very challenging and conventional catheter ablation strategies have provided only modest success. They often require multiple procedures and anti-arrhythmics to maintain sinus rhythm. The convergent ablation procedure is a hybrid approach, involving a minimally invasive epicardial ablation combined with a traditional transvenous endocardial ablation.

Hypothesis: Convergent ablation is an overall safe and effective procedure for the treatment of long standing persistent AF.
