OBJECTIVE: To map and summarize the existing literature on the use of osteopathic manipulative techniques (OMT) in the management of acute otitis media (AOM) in pediatric patients, with an emphasis on reported outcomes and identifying gaps in the current evidence.

DATA SOURCES: CINAHL, PubMed, and SCOPUS.

REVIEW METHODS: A comprehensive literature search was conducted across multiple databases following the PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews) guidelines. CONTEXT: Lymphatic treatments are gentle and passive techniques believed to enhance movement of lymph back into the central circulatory system. Animal studies provide supportive evidence, yet there are few studies in humans.
