Introduction: : Chronic tendinopathy affects approximately 30% of musculoskeletal consultations, yet treatment outcomes remain inconsistent despite numerous available interventions. This variability stems from the absence of validated frameworks to match individual patients to optimal treatments based on underlying pathophysiology. Background: Nitroglycerin (NTG) is a medication commonly used for chest pain, often administered in prehospital settings during acute myocardial infarctions (AMI). Current guidelines from the American Heart Association (AHA) and European Society of Cardiology (ESC) recommend avoiding NTG in suspected right ventricular myocardial infarctions (RVMI).

Objectives: Review the hemodynamic effects of nitroglycerin in acute myocardial infarction subtypes to reevaluate the validity of its contraindications.

Method: PubMed and Google Scholar databases were searched, yielding five publications that retrospectively analyzed the effects of NTG on blood pressure (BP) in AMI.

The most common hand fracture occurs in the fifth metacarpal, and is known as a “boxer’s fracture.” These fractures typically result from direct trauma from punching an object with a closed fist, falls, or motor vehicle accidents. Boxer’s fractures are diagnosed using X-rays to confirm the injury and assess severity. However, extensive bruising and tissue swelling often hides the characteristic depression of the metacarpal head, making clinical evaluation challenging. This project aims to create a low-cost, 3D-printed hand model featuring a boxer’s fracture that can be molded and X-rayed. A balance of commensal and pathogenic bacteria in the oral cavity is essential for optimal oral and systemic health. Our previous studies demonstrate that E- liquid aerosol ± flavors (particularly cinnamon) are detrimental to several strains of oral commensal streptococcal bacteria. However, very little information is available concerning the effects of E-liquid aerosols on oral pathogens. This study describes lecture capture, transcription, and captioning services at US Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (COMs). An anonymous online survey was sent to Deans or Directors of Curriculum at all 34 fully accredited COMs, with 21 (62%) responding. Results showed widespread lecture recording (95%), but of those, there were varied transcript and caption offerings: 7 (33%) provided both, 5 (24%) offered closed captions only, and 3 (14%) offered transcripts only. Overall, 71% offered at least one service. These findings indicate the prevalence of these lecture services at US COMs and will assist COMs in benchmarking their practices.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease characterised by the breakdown of cartilage, causing pain, stiffness, and limited movement. Early diagnosis is crucial for effective management but remains challenging due to non-specific early symptoms. This study explores the application of Discriminant Function Analysis (DFA) to classify OA patients and healthy volunteers based on biomarker concentrations of Interleukin-6 (IL-6), Tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), and Myeloperoxidase (MPO). DFA was employed to analyse biomarker data from 86 participants (58 patients, 28 volunteers) to evaluate the discriminatory power of these biomarkers in predicting OA. Due to growing health disparities in underserved communities, a comprehensive approach is needed to train physicians to work effectively with patients who have cultures and belief systems different from their own. To address these complex healthcare inequities, Rowan-Virtua SOM implemented a new curriculum, The Tensegrity Curriculum, designed to expand beyond just teaching skills of cultural competence to include trainees' exploration of cultural humility. Despite significant strides to curb HAIs in hospital environments, outpatient settings have not received the same degree of attention. CONTEXT: Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is an endocrine emergency that can occur in people with diabetes. Its incidence is estimated to be 220,340 hospital admissions each year. Treatment algorithms include fluid resuscitation, intravenous (IV) insulin infusion, and scheduled electrolyte and glucose monitoring. Surgical treatment of pelvic sarcoma involving the bone is the standard of care but is associated with several sequelae and reduced functional quality of life (QOL). Treatment with photon and proton radiotherapy is associated with relapse. Carbon ion radiotherapy (CIRT) may reduce both relapse rates and treatment sequelae. The PROSPER study is a tricontinental, nonrandomized, prospective, three-arm, pragmatic trial evaluating treatments of pelvic sarcoma involving the bone. Patients aged at least 15 years are eligible for inclusion. CONTEXT: Lymphatic treatments are gentle and passive techniques believed to enhance movement of lymph back into the central circulatory system. Animal studies provide supportive evidence, yet there are few studies in humans.

OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study is to investigate whether the osteopathic pedal pump protocol reduces volume in the lower limbs of healthy subjects.

METHODS: A total of 30 first- and second-year medical students were recruited.
