Introduction: Autoimmune encephalitis is a rare immune-mediated disorder characterized by neuropsychiatric symptoms. Anti-NMDA receptor (NMDA-R) encephalitis, the most common subtype, affects approximately 1 in 1.5 million people annually. We present a case of a young female with new-onset hallucinations, behavioral changes, and personality disturbance. Case Presentation: A 32-year-old female with remote methamphetamine use and recent trauma presented with acute mental status changes, aggression, emotional lability, and hallucinations. Vitals were normal; on exam she appeared confused, agitated, and displayed unusual behavior, including hallucinations. Initial evaluation revealed mild leukocytosis, but otherwise normal urine drug screen, chest radiograph, TSH, ANA, VDRL, heavy metal …

Background: Cervical cancer screening is a cornerstone of preventative healthcare and cancer screening in primary care. Based on data from the CDC, in the US alone, the rate of new cervical cancers each year is ~13,000, accounts for ~4,000 deaths annually, and disproportionally effects people of color and people of low SES (CDC, 2025). In our clinic (PMG Milwaukie), the rate of cervical cancer screening has remained around 70% for years, which is below the national average of ~75% (Healthy People, 2021). Background: A stay at the hospital is full of interruptions from family visitors, lab draws, hearing screens, nurses and doctors, social workers, and environmental services. All these interruptions during the postpartum stay negatively affect parents and newborns by interrupting breastfeeding, sleep, and family bonding time. Evidence from AWHONN (Association of Women's Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) research, in the articles referenced, demonstrates overwhelming support of Quiet Time in the Postpartum period. Quiet Time has been shown to improve exclusive breastfeeding rates, decrease emotional and physical exhaustion, enhance shared decision making and set realistic expectations, increase nurse satisfaction, decrease nursing stress …

Background:

Childbirth is very painful, and unmanaged pain may reduce patient satisfaction or lead to other complications. Evidence indicates that pain severity is lower among parturient women administered analgesia via a continuous labor epidural (CLE) and that maternal request is sufficient indication for CLE placement to manage labor pain. In some cases, a medical induction of labor may be scheduled, offering an opportunity for proactive pain management from hospital staff. Yet, trends on timing of CLE placement among parturient women with scheduled labor induction versus spontaneous labor in hospitals in Eastern Washington at one health system are unclear.

Purpose/Background: Homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) is a useful predictor of treatment response in patients with epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Reported data on the frequency of HRD in EOC is largely based on analysis of patients treated at academic medical centers or who participated in clinical trials. We sought to characterize the frequency of HRD based on mutations in homologous recombination repair (HRR) genes, genomic instability (GI) and loss of heterozygosity (LOH) scores in a large community-based cohort of EOC patients who received genomic testing in the context of routine clinical care.
